  1. Sounds like a good time. Reminds me of when I was considerably younger and loved to go sledding. My friends and I would go out to the woods and we had some favorite spots to sled. One spot was like a half pipe all the way down and we would battle each other and try to knock the other person off. Then, we liked to make a large train of people holding the legs of the person in front of you. However, that did sometimes turn out bad because the front person would make a sharp turn and the people in the rear would run into trees. Lastly, may favorite, was a very steep and violent drop that was lots of fun, but hard to stop before you went out onto the frozen creek (kinda dangerous).
  2. I love that...E.T. rehearsal tape! Good stuff, donniejb!
  3. No one has ever been killed by or on The Beast.
  4. Something is going to have to be done about these outrageous gas prices. This is going to get out of control. How soon before people won't be able to even afford to go to work? I don't think anyone is in the business of working just so they have enough money to get to work and back.
  5. Never been to a Dave & Busters. Anyone care to give a review?
  6. My favorite seat on Wicked Twister is the very last seat. I rode Voodoo when it was Steel Venom at Geauga Lake and they were not using the holding brake, so I never got to experience that. Hopefully, it will be used at Dorney.
  7. Cheap? Yes. But, does it really matter? Not to most families or patrons whom only attend one of their parks. I'd say the majority of the GP don't even know that Meanstreak and Detonator have the same logo.
  8. I'm confused...what is Merhcandise Maintenance?
  9. I remember when Camden Park had both tickets to ride or you could purchase an all day ride deal. You could also pay .25 to get in, which was cool for parents or grandparents who didn't want to ride.
  10. I mean, someone told me that BB had a problem valleying after a certain hill, but only when the weather was inclement. I like stand-ups. King Kobra was pretty good, but I really like the Mantis.
  11. Actually, I believe Italian Chef beat you both to the punch in his first post. I think it's clear that he understands that neither will come to KI. It's just a hypothetical question. Never thought about theming a ride to Fantastic Four...that would be cool. Or, better yet, Ghostrider!
  12. I always thought welding would be a cool job. Makes you get into your work physically and I could see the satisfaction gained out of a job well done. Not to mention, I'd love to weld coasters together. Maybe it's not too late to start over?
  13. Someone told me that Bavarian Beetle used to have a problem valleying when it was raining. Anyone know if that's true?

    Rumor

Yes, it was a tv series with Jack Palance...in the early early years.
  15. Too bad we can't go back to the days of HB named rows. Much easier to remember.
  16. Just signed up! This will be interesting.
  17. We were talking about CF, not Paramount. They assumed since the names were less than what they expected, the shows would share the same fate. Not necessarily true. It wasn't a bash on Paramount.
  18. I just hope the entertainment department can make up for the lack of the rides department. I really don't want to see Ice Stake Show 1. I'm not sure if understand what you are trying to get across. All the very bad new rides names. I just hope the shows have better names that's all. In case you haven't heard, Cedar Point, run by Cedar Fair, has award winning shows. It only stands to reason that they will bring in some good shows for the newly acquired Paramount Parks. And, I haven't heard anyone complain about the names.
  19. Believe it or not, it was not originally written by Wild Cherry, although originally recorded by Wild Cherry. I met the man whom at the time was a musician and sold the song for like $500. He really never thought it was that great of a song to begin with. Who knew?
  20. I stayed in the old section once. I believe the air was wall mounted and they did have the electronic key cards. It was not great, but definitely beats the heck out of the nearby Travelodge. Plus, the sheer convenience of being a two minute walk away from the back gate is what really rocks.
  21. Sorry, I was not aware that the Redhawks had a hockey team. They tried to start one at Marshall, but all that happened was a hockey club was started. Meaning, you could use the name, but you bought all of your own equipment. I think it only lasted like two seasons.
