  2. Appears to be Flight of Fear without seats/floor
  3. I would think there is a high chance that is another cemetery from your description, like the missing parcel in the parking lot.
  4. I would say that means what you think it means. During the selfie taking when he included the audience behind him in the shot, Phil "forgot" to remove his helmet and only finally took it off after wrestling with the flag... and when he did, his hair was slicked back into a ponytail. Phil also took Kevin (the little ball with an eye) when it was thrown at him, treated it nicely instead of throwing or kicking it back, and continued to carry it with him all the way until he runs offstage at the end of that scene. During the bar act, the female blue alien came out at the same time as the orange alien, at the point where she usually tried to jump to the bar but missed because she's too short. The one in blue got down on hands and knees to be used as a stool to reach the bar, but she still missed. Then the one in blue picked her up to try to reach the second bar, and missed again Rather than the blue alien who had been extensively yelling at Phil after he was captured, one of the purple ones did. I forget how that part was concluded, though... When she asked him for the "bubaloo" he asked nicely for his friends to be released rather than demanding. Even with all these things I'm sure there are even more we've forgotten. This pic shows Phil's slicked back hair, her reaction to him repeating in English back to her what she had asked, and the way the other astronauts were restrained in the final show. Edit: I just remembered during one of yesterday's shows but I can't remember for sure it was the final, when Phil was trying to blend into the backdrop to hide he put on the orange alien's hood.
  5. Who wrote the back stories that are on the website for the new Haunt attractions this year? They're really fun!
  6. During the fantastic behind-the-scenes tour some of us had on Saturday, someone asked if Phil would ever get the kiss at the ending of the show. He replied "I've been trying all year!" At the final performance, he did, and then she joined him in the "rocket" at the end. It was such an appropriate way to bring the season to a close. During one of the other performances, he referenced a question I asked at the tour. I had wondered from the very beginning about the alien language Ariane spoke in the show. I felt sometimes like I could pick out little bits of French so I asked if it was French and something else, or if it was entirely made up. It turns out that she invented it herself and that the things she says have specific "meanings", but occasionally she would throw in a little in French to make her castmates laugh. So at one of the final performances after her long tirade about him stealing the "bubaloo" and to give it back, instead of responding "what?" he asked "are you French?"
  7. He's been saying "we should have gone to Kings Island!" off and on for a couple weeks, so the gold pass comment was riffing on that. I always watch all three shows the days I go, and typically he chooses a different line for each show in a day. He has really developed as a performer as the season has progressed. We learned at the blog meetup behind-the-scenes tour that this is the first cirque production he has been involved in (although he's been doing stunt bikes for years). At the beginning of the season I noticed he seemed a little uncomfortable on stage when he wasn't performing on the bike (which has always been fantastic). It's been fun to watch him start to enjoy himself on stage, and even start hamming it up for laughs.
  8. You are incorrect. What it means is that the park is open only for Haunt on those days (as opposed to Saturdays when the park is open during the day alongside Great Pumpkin Fest over in Soak City, and switches to Haunt in the evening). Rides and Haunt-specific attractions will both be open Friday evenings.
  9. Also, I believe you can still get the bacon and cheese fries at the Rivertown Potato Works
  10. To me, if they're "planning a new thrill ride for next season" and there are no other signs (clearing, construction) at this point, chances are really strong that it will be a conversion rather than tear down and replace.
  11. ^ which is also why "Controlled center guide rail slip clutch steering prevents abuse" The cars don't say "Do Not Bump" for no reason. It's always been a sort of goal for some riders. Once you're too old to get excited about being able to drive at 5 mph, one starts looking for other forms of entertainment...
  12. Don't confuse the fanboys who look at all evidence to the contrary and still believe whatever they want to happen is going to happen, then get upset at the park for "leading them on", with actual enthusiasts. The former may be louder and more obnoxious but they are a very small fraction of Coaster and theme park enthusiasts. In this case, the seasoned enthusiasts tried to explain to the fanboys that their "proof" of SoB returning was just an artist at Cedar Point having a little fun putting Easter egg references to other parks in his theming posters, some wood that was added by a ride op, and several logos that are scattered around Kings Island, all of which have been there at least a year and some for several years. That SoB is a dark mark on Kings Island history. That since the entire structure has been removed (and was never as structurally sound as it would need to be) that they weren't going to make an RMC SoB (if they do eventually build a ground-up RMC, why would they continue to reference a failed ride?!) While the enthusiasts were trying to convince them to calm down and actually think about it, they did the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears shouting "I'm not listening!" And now, that it should be clear that sensibly this was never going to happen, they're yelling at the park for raising their expectations, and still holding out hope that next year they'll get what they want. It gets really tiring after a few years of seeing this cycle, and giving too much attention to the ridiculousness makes actual coaster enthusiasts look like idiots by association. The vast majority of coaster and theme park enthusiasts understand that it is ultimately a business, and Kings Island ideally is going to make the decisions they believe make sense from a business standpoint. The rumors last year made it very clear that a large population (not just a few so-called-enthusiasts) missed the antique cars, and bringing them back would be a popular decision with many park attendees (and not for nothing, it is a relatively inexpensive addition). I personally believe that it is also a continuation of laying the groundwork of infrastructure in Coney Mall that is leading up to a new Giga that will be around the old Dinos Alive area. I think it would make business sense for the park, and it also happens to mesh with my personal aesthetic belief that is where a Giga "belongs" if the park adds one. But, if I'm wrong, I'm certainly not going to blame the park for "getting my expectations up" with all of these Coney Mall improvements. I'm happy to see the improvements for their own sake.
  13. If what I've seen as the proposed area for the 'tiques is correct, I'm fairly certain the former arcade/Kill Mart building is going to be torn down after Haunt this year.
  14. Hey now, (It had been raining since park open, so please excuse the hair) I don't know if the ultimate vehicles may be electric (although certain word choice during the announcement led us to believe they will be gas) but this one definitely was not. I was a little worried we all were going to be asphyxiated from them driving it in an enclosed space. Could certainly smell it, and I wasn't super-close. (Oh, and note from my pic that someone at KI seems to have a good sense of humor about those who took a little Easter egg on a theming poster at Cedar Point and blew it into such a mountain that the local news picked it up. Number 5 is alive, indeed!)
  15. You don't even have to walk through the line. There is a straight shoot from the front door to the registers, bypassing the queue.
  16. Bringing the International back to the Street Coney Mall sign replaced Return of recaR sdrawkcaB Themed costuming of employees edit: holy cow, the clock on the Festhaus!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I'm still fairly convinced that is "Pushing the Boundaries" but have still been unable to find an audio source. However, the music from the bar act (World Challenge) is used in this video about a restaurant, starting at about the four minute mark: Closest I can get! Edit: I just realized I have that backwards in my original post I quoted. I believe "Pushing the Boundaries" is the tumbling act, and "World Challenge" is the bar act.
  18. Hoping the weather backs off enough for the tour, that we get similar access as during Coasterstock (in between the tracks), and that both trains are running this time Its going to be fun regardless, if we don't get stormed out.
  19. I think it's that boy's voice that is turning Definitely a cute vid.
  20. You could get either fried rice, white rice, or noodles, and your choice of two entrees for most of this season (they tried early on to change it to one entree and people rebelled enough they switched back). One egg roll, two spring rolls, or three rangoons counted as one entree choice. The change, as I'm hearing it, is that one is no longer allowed to pick a side, they give you half fried rice and half noodles. And your entree choices are limited to the pairings that are listed as "numbers" on their sign (no more double orange chicken which has been in my experience the most common order of people around me in line). I will take pics later today when I'm at the park to clarify what those pairings are and kind of hang out to see what people are being told, since I wasn't planning on getting Panda myself today (burnt myself out on it earlier in the season).
  21. If they continue the new policy as I've heard it, no, you cannot get rangoons on dining now.
  22. I will accept that they have the "right" to change it, but I also have no qualms about expressing my displeasure about the change in the proper forum (at guest services). I have a feeling it will be a terrible week to work at Panda Express because they are going to have a lot of angry people who aren't willing to wait to complain elsewhere... it is so disheartening that they are going to put those low level employees on the line for enforcing a change this far into a season. The people who I am hearing about this through said they were told that Panda Express corporate came in to tell them they need to do it this way.
  23. Just a warning of reports I'm hearing: Panda Express has had new signage up for awhile with meal #s, which are each a combination of two entrees. Previously, they've just been suggested combinations. However, now apparently they are enforcing that you can ONLY get one of these preset combinations using your meal plan. I know many of their current options (like egg rolls or Rangoon) aren't even part of one of those combos so I don't know if they plan to limit their offerings to the six (I believe) entrees from the combos, or keep the other food around getting stale for the rare non-meal-plan customers... It seems like a terrible idea to me, but what do I know? I'll be registering my complaint with guest services once I actually encounter it myself.
