If You Could Relocate ANY Defunct KI Ride....

Besides having KCKC return, it would be awesome just to imagine saying "Kentucky Kingdom's Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal." -
If You Could Relocate ANY Defunct KI Ride....
BeeastFarmer replied to AnsoniA's topic in Kings Island
Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal to Kentucky Kingdom. -
Unless Adam House was lying when he said he did not know what was in the shed, I would guess it will be special effects and nothing that a design engineer would have to take into consideration in construction of the coaster.
-
I learned this season that it is cheaper to pay $5 for preferred parking than it is for a locker, if I am going to be there more than 4-5 hours which I almost always am.
-
I don't mind the bridge, but it is just quicker to be able to cross near Enterprise if you aren't doing the water park.
-
They opened up a grade crossing near Enterprise. That avoids having to use the bridge entirely. Also, the area near Storm Chaser--I'd expect to see development as this is one of the last parts of the old SIX part that was left undeveloped since the park reopened in 2014.

As I said above, I would gladly pay for an option to not have a cup, but you still get "free" drinks all season all parks. I'd pay double what the current charge is. Or, they could emulate Kentucky Kingdom and give all season drinks as an incentive for early renewal.

I had one stolen at the Tower in 2014. I stopped by Guest Services who gave me enough Snoopy Bux to get a new cup. Since then, every cup I get is decorated with a Sharpie. On a related note: I plan to buy my 2017 all season cup when I make my March visit to Carowinds. This year, I bought the voucher last fall and couldn't use it until May when KI was open and I could make my first visit. I so wish they would have an option to buy an all season drink option with out a cup--I would pay more for this option.

Knott's Berry Farm closes an attraction
BeeastFarmer replied to rlentless's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
After working in a mental health hospital many years ago, I can say that what is probably portrayed in this attraction is probably about as accurate as Urgent Scream is to a real hospital. It was rather distasteful that the original name contained the CA code for the 72 hour court hold, I can see that as a point for mental health advocates. -
I wonder if any of these shade structures and chairs will come from a water park up north?

New Kentucky Theme Park?
BeeastFarmer replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I hate Lexington, but it is a necessary evil. Many people in the eastern part of the Commonwealth depend on Lexington for commerce, employment and financial services. -
They do have the "Fun Under Construction" signs on this fence. It would seem logical this would be the next area to renovate. I'd also think some waterpark improvements are due, and maybe something done with a flat or two on the entrance side of the park.

I had a very good season at KK this year. Looking forward to another one. Was impressed that my 2017 season pass arrived in the mail about a week after I renewed online.

Yes, I wish the would do Halloween. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
BeeastFarmer replied to Bansheeback's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I maintain that a "conversion" is often better than a demolition. Not always, but often. For example, and this is purely hypothetical, I have ridden MS three times. Not a bad ride, but it was kind of boring and rough in spots. The park can completely demolish it and build a new coaster in the place of it, the park can leave the space undeveloped until the time is right to put something new in, or it can take the structure of MS and modify it. Unless the structure is deficient, I would like to see this happen. It is impressive on the skyline and most conversions have been well received. -
I bought it during the Labor Day flash sale. The voucher states: 2017 Combo Gold Season Pass Expires 12/31/17. Proceed to park entrance for Pass card. Must pick up Pass card at Six Flags Over Georgia or White Water and register online by 9/25/16 to receive free Holiday in the Park ticket. Free ticket expires 12/18/16. 2017 Combo Season Parking Pass Valid during 2017 Season. Present voucher at the toll plaza for entry on your first visit. Next, present voucher at park entrance, ALONG WITH YOUR COMBO SEASON PASS VOUCHER, and it will be added to your Combo Season Pass card.

There was no mention of processing timelines on the pass or the parking. The only caveat was the free Christmas ticket. It seems to good to be true, and I am a SIX virgin.
-
Not sure if this is the correct forum, but I have a question about SIX season passes: I bought a pass online, what seems to be the equivalent of a FUN Platinum pass (All US SIX Parks, free parking) online with SFOG as my home SIX park. It was only $51.99 +tax/fees so around $60 total. I won't be able to process until the Christmas event starts. I called to confirm that I wouldn't loose my other SIX benefits or parking pass and was told no. The only benefit I will loose is not getting a free Christmas ticket for a friend by not processing by 9-26. Am I totally misunderstanding, or did I get the park deal of the year?

I saw that post earlier and it had me curious. I had read yesterday about KK winning a Rennaissance Award. So I Googled it. See page 28 of this PDF: http://goldenticketawards.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/2016-GTA-issue_complete.pdf

Question about Knott's Fried Chicken.
BeeastFarmer replied to Tanna's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I prefer chicken fried in a cast iron skillet. While I can't replicate my grandmother's chicken, I try. KFC is not worth the grease it's fried in, Lee's Famous Recipe is much superior. -
He was going to take ride #14201, but the ride broke. It'll be a while until he can go back to riding as the park is closed for private events. (Unless he can go to private events.)

I had one my best ever days at the park yesterday. Very short visit, and only rode The Beast--twice. While in line for Diamondback, it went down, and stayed down. I was in line with Gary Coleman, and we finally were able to connect. Really nice guy. Ride associates were walking the diminishing line with updates. Was just a really relaxing time talking with them and Gary.

Do we have Tower Eyes yet?

^Gotcha. I did not watch the industry back then.
