IIRC, the area that has the higher height limit is the vacant lot between the hotels (Manning Rd) and the waterpark. It is used for staging now, I think. If not, maybe it is up by the overflow parking lot to the right of the picnic pavilions. If that is the case, the lift could go there with the smaller hills and ground hugging sections in the vacant lot between the hotels and the water park.

2018 Additional Events Announced
BeeastFarmer replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Personally, I was not impressed with PVZ. The cycle was very short (which is needed for throughput) and the game just seemed to run at about 1.5 the speed needed. I'd much prefer something like Voyage to the Iron Reef, which was alot of fun. But I'd be happy to skip the attraction and let the many people it would draw in take the seat. There's so much to do already! -
My understanding is that there is about 20 acres that the Fair Board has made available for expansion and it near the picnic pavilions and in between the water park and the hotel. The height limit is 200-215 feet here, I think. That is why the sky swing ride is placed there. Also, from the end of this area (SW end, I think) over to the amphitheater and over to Storm Chaser--the Fair Board owns all this and is letting leases expire to make the land available for future park expansion. This would require the city to vacate the streets of Adair, E. Southern Heights Ave, Seneca, Sioux, Huron and Dakota. Much of that is vacant land and I've been told that many of the businesses on Dakota were used by SIX when they operated the park, so likely they would expire sooner than later since new businesses moved in. It would also be nice if they could get control of the small piece of land between Cheyenne and the parking entry gate, but I think that is privately owned. Ed Hart said in a local newscast "live broadcast" that he based his placement of rides around the water park on Coney Island in NY. All that being said, besides a new coaster, I hope the park infills much more. So much potential for this around Storm Chaser and Eye of the Storm. I'm excited to see the new bird show in the amphitheater.

Wow, @harmony29 and @KImom, nice to see some other Central KY folks in these here forums! I have taken the 127 route before, but did it on the way home so I could enjoy the scenery. Interesting side note: I found it weird last week that it was 4 hours and 40 minutes to get to CP from downtown Cincy and it was 5 hours and 30 minutes to get home from CP to Harrodsburg. Waze was very accurate with the time! ( I did have to stop in Dayton for a power nap. And there were deer on Versailles Rd in between Keeneland and the Castle. Very glad for that power nap to keep me alert enough to see deer at 3am!)

I think they are all pretty tasteless. Surprising for a park that prides itself for a family atmosphere. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Which you authored!

All I can say is that I was blown away by Winterfest. I'd love to see more weeknights added into the schedule since I work every weekend. The investments will continue to pay off, I hope.

Avoid the issue! Revert back to a Nokia flip phone ASAP. Maybe KI will let those phones in Diamnondback's queue go for a song...

9170 steps today in about 5 hours. This was an overly, planned visit. It will be interesting to compare the Cedar Point steps to this later today. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Did Diamonback's station and sign get painted this year? And has anybody seen the new rope theming in The Beast station? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Currently at IS Skyline. As usual, worst food experience in the park. One cashier, one assemler and one guard at the door. But the staff is working hard, so they will get props at Guest Services. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I've been listening to this on and off. Not knowing the complete context, but it is rather painful to listen to. "In Ohio, the rides are inspected by Parks and Recreation or Fish and Wildlife, people who don't know what they are doing now." "I think there is one at Carowinds (Eifel Tower)." "The tower at Kings Islands looks like it is made out of Legos or something."

They made up for it with the cheese. I rarely get fries at the park. I always get way too many. The portion size looks great for managing my T1D.
-
I think this viewpoint is rather simplistic. I'd say CF would use the amortization/depreciation method of accounting vs "paying off" investments. And lets not forget the (I'd conjecture) MILLONS that were spent on Winterfest and the Island Smokehouse. And I'd suppose there was plenty of coin spent this year on seen and unseen projects/infrastructure.

Just got myself registered for my 4th Coasterstock!

Ed Hart has said he won't have a launched coaster. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

4/21/18: 15,414 steps at KI. 7.3 miles. Not too shabby for 1500-2230!

I was very dismayed to see the removal of the ginko trees in the former smoking ring in the area formerly known as Coney Mall. The new maple trees look nice though. The ginkos were probably past their serviceable life and the fruit did smell terrible. Just sad to see them gone since they had been in the park since 1972, and if I am not mistaken, were transplanted from Coney Island. (correct me if I am wrong.)

I loved the Rivertown music! I am very happy with the changes the park is making. I've never been more optimistic about the future of our park!

Can you buy Coasterstock tickets at the park or is it online only? I'm a terrific procrastinator. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I'm esctatic about good music on International Street! It made my season last year. Excited to hear Rivertown's soundtrack tomorrow! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I am excited about KK being reopened. It appears that they have done well. They have a great coaster collection, a good combination of flat rides and a good water park (or so I have been told.) If they continue to carefully build out the park they should be successful for a long time.

Park officials have stated at enthusiast events that additional land is available to KK from the fair board and the height restriction would allow for a hyper in that location.
