  1. I'm hoping that Cedar Fair has changed meat patty supplier. Or at least product. The last three years, the patty, even after cooking, had the appearance of a raw chub of meat, with the extruded texture. The taste, in my experience was not good at all. This was noticed at KI, CP, KD and Knotts.
  2. I've got my "ticket" secured for April 30th!
  3. Did Eurythmics ever perform at Timberwolf? My favorite all time band; IIRC it caused a big fight with my parents because my friends parents invited me to go to KI with him and to see the concert, but my parents didn't want me to go a "rock concert." (I was 14 at the time.)
  4. I've found that later in the season (June), they are more willing to accommodate special requests: At the Chicken Shack, I have asked for no fries and a piece of bread instead and they do that. Last year I asked for a coney instead of fries at IS SL and they had no problem with that. The year before, I did the opposite (when fries were not on the menu for the meal plan.) My niece wanted fries. They did it then too. I am ok with portion sizes being smaller on most meals because I usually end of tossing food when it is just me there with no niece or other family.
  5. My goal is to be a little more social. I am an extrovert by nature, but my job drains me so parks have been a good way to blend in. Ive enjoyed KIC friends at Winter fest, I want to continue that over the 2018 season. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  6. If you feed the troll, it will just keep coming back for more.
  7. This is the last Friday night until September that people will not be riding coasters, eating food, hanging out on International Street at Kings Island!
  8. I had never been to KD before they celebrated their anniversary, but it seems like they really went all out to bring back the charm. Would be great if KI did something similar for the 50th. I think they have been doing some small things for nostalgia sake, I'd like to see them ramp it up.
  9. I'm all for a GiGa, but can't we enjoy Mystic Timbers before we move on to the next thing?
  10. I'd like the concept to remain the same, but would not be opposed to changes in video, maybe differing props etc.
  11. I hope they don't replace the berm. Why block the view of the Royal Fountain? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  12. I can get behind that statement. I'd like to see more options at RHOFG, and (hopefully) a return of the IR. Beyond that, I would like to see the park address the long term problem of staffing in food service. Overhire, overtrain and focus on the basics: QSC&V. IS Skyline should never look like a food fight broke out. The park has had 45 years to predict busy days; staff more cashiers and have both sides of the eateries open. Update the POS system across the chain. Have supervisors actually train and develop and discipline (egads) rather be besties. But hydrocarbons are in most foods--hydrogen, carbon and oxygen. What are petro chemicals? Oil, diesel, gasoline? Are they putting this into the blue ice cream or M&Ms and Skittles? I'm sorry your son has to deal with this. That's got to be tough.
  13. What specifically, is the toxic chemical in blue hot chocolate and blue ice cream? How much would one have to consume to cause damage? I love the blue ice cream, but I may have 2 or 3 cones a year. Should be worried? I'm more worried about the soy and corn that I do my very best to avoid after the crops have been exposed to multiple doses of glycophosphate.
  14. I don't know the specific make up of blue ice cream or blue hot chocolate. We most likely would be surprised by many of the things we consume. For those who consume dairy, we are consuming a form of cow perspiration, since mammary glands are modified sweat glands. https://www.sciencedaily.com/terms/mammary_gland.htm
  15. See my post above, which have been implemented under the direction of Chef Nate.
  16. I'd conjecture it would be ideas like RHOFG, Blue Hot Chocolate, the numerous funnel cakes, the new menu items at Hanks, the cinnamon bread, the various food festivals, the Island Smokehouse, the IS buffet etc. The KI staples and chains are probably not part of his scope of practice. I'd also say the CF parks are looking to book more corporate and niche events and catered food might be a big part of that.
  17. Chef Nate has brought some innovative ideas to KIFS. In my limited interaction with him, he seems like a really nice guy. Maybe it's just great news for me and other Chef Nate fans?
  18. Chef Nate is still at KI! That indeed is great news! https://twitter.com/KICHEFNATE
  19. While I agree with most of your post, I would think that the Executive Chef role is more of a visionary, niche position. He has to design the non-standard food items. I would, however, disagree about some of the front line staff. I have seen lazy, angry, dirty and clueless front line staff. I have also see plenty of front line staff trying to do their best. I guess management is trying to keep warm bodies by being the friend, rather than the boss. And I really do not understand how Cedar Fair can roll up numbers for all the parks just days after closing with some awesome technology, but the technology to run cash registers can cause so many issues with food service workers. But, I do give credit where credit is due, Winterfest was done great with food service, and some things were put in place last year that have sped some things up.
  20. I doubt the Executive Chef will have anything to do with front line food service staff. That mess is way down the line from him. I am optimistic that some of the efficiency efforts we saw last year will continue to produce fruit. Here's to hope for the embattled food service department. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  21. New executive chef. But what about Chef Nate? Tweeted as recently as Saturday 3/24/18. Like the look of the new building.
  22. I'd rather have a flat there to divert the line from current and future coasters.
  23. Looking at the photo above...how sweet would a sit down restaurant with patio dining out back with views of The Racer? Move the Haunt props and open up the space. That would give indoor dining further down the area formerly known as Coney Mall, which one is needed. But then again, I'd be happy to have the Coney Mall sign back! 24. But you made the claim. If you are going to make a claim, you should be able to substantiate it. The latest annual report is available online (link to follow) and I see nothing about spending over budgeted amounts on lodging. http://ir.cedarfair.com/newsroom/press-releases/news-release-details/2018/Cedar-Fair-Reports-Full-Year-And-Fourth-Quarter-2017-Results/default.aspx
  25. Please cite the source of your truth. I don't claim to know anything about how Cedar Fair or each park handles their budgets. That is for the inner circles to know. As an investor in FUN, I am concerned with the return on my investment. As a fan of KI, I want to have a good experience when I visit. I think you bit off a little more than you can chew with this comment.
