  1. I was there in November and on New Years Eve. All coasters were running with walk on ques. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  2. Off topic, but I do want to say "thanks" to Beast Gal. Maverick will always be Cowboy Coaster to me now! For me personally, this is her and Mr. Beast Guy's best contribution to coasterdom! Beast Gal, did you end up going to the Mystic Timbers announcement? Did you feel safe?
  3. I was not an enthusiast, nor did I visit much during the Paramount years. (I lived out west). The handful of times I went to PKI when I was home on vacation, I did not like the amount of commercialization that Paramount brought to PKI. It seemed if everything was branded. I moved back in '07, went, and it felt like the "old" Kings Island again.
  4. Sparky, Kings Dominion felt smaller in scale to me. In a good way. They do so many things right there. I really liked the long walkway behind the Tower.
  5. I did feel like I was in an alternate universe when I was at KD. So many things the same, yet different.
  6. Kroger is advertising combo Tix to KK and the state fair with KK getting top billing. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  7. I didn't take Mr. Spiegel's "oh it's to coming" to mean this year. With his connections, I'd be very surprised if he wasn't in the know. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  8. I signed up. Hopefully will be able to go, then up to Cedar Point. Can't believe the season is almost over! I can count on one hand the remaining times I'll go to KI and KK this year! Thank goodness for Dollywood! Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  9. I'm not much of a gamer, but PVZ was very lame in my opinion. Very short, not much of a story line, and video lagged. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  10. I watched a POV in one of the links posted above. Can you imagine how the associate feels who was stationed at the end of the ride?
  11. I know I am in the minority, but I like the brake after the 2nd lift, before the tunnel. Especially sitting in front, it seems as if you slow some, but then are sped up right before the tunnel. The Beast is all about emotions, at least for me. It is nothing like FURY 325 or TTD as far as stats go, but it is and probably always will be my #1 coaster.
  12. Great day at the park today except for terrible service at Taco Tequila. Old women in bikinis and old men in Speedos pressed against the glass sneeze guard is not appealing. Also, it is not a good time to change the cash drawers when the line is out the door. The workers did great--they had orders taken and food ready. However, it was likely cold and why I left the line and went to Swamp Water Jacks for some pulled pork and jalapeno pepper macaroni!
  13. Kentucky Kingdom has an Enterprise. It reopened last year. It doesn't seem to fit.
  14. Bring me up to speed, please. What happened at Diamondback?
  15. I actually enjoyed watching this video. I have seen a few other of his, and they annoyed me like Bob Avery's sometimes do. But it was nice seeing someone experience KI for the first time.
  16. I really like the idea of Mystic Timbers. The only critique I have to offer is about the announcement itself. It just seemed to end awkwardly.
  17. I rode MS in May several times during my first CP visit. I didn't find it too rough, but slightly boring. But I still really enjoy it. This news saddens me, but I am hoping for a remake rather than a tear down.
  18. I think we will see a reinvigorated train, maybe a medium flat (like an Enterprise) and perhaps a Plants vs Zombies attraction. I was not impressed with PVZ at Carowinds.
  19. I will note, when I stopped by Guest Services to comment about the lack of trays, I also commented about the music. The associates said that they love to hear that, because it allows them to pass it on to higher ups. They said they also like the Christmas in July and the instrumental music too. Maybe someone does listen to the comments left there.
  20. Had a great time at the park yesterday! Enjoyed chatting with some KIC folks on the train. Here are my observations: 1. Christmas in July was great! Enjoyed the music and the decor. 2. Speaking of music, it seems that some one at KI has decided to turn the volume down. I hope this continues. I could actually hear people. 3. Ride operations were great. Not crowded, but they were working hard. New on DB to me, the spieler would announce the hammerhead was clear, and the train was consistently going out shortly after that. 4. Food service speed has generally improved since the early season. 5. No trays at IS Skyline. How they expect you to carry a 3-way, a coney, a drink, a card, plasticware, napkins and crackers and your pass is beyond me. 6. At the PS Ice cream, service was terrible. I waited in a line, got to the register while the employee talked to a supervisor. When I cleared my throat, she said, "Oh you can move to the next line." So, I did as there was only one person in that line and was getting change. But the supervisor had to interupt to get her to change a bill for coin rolls. Then, I kid you not, the second employee took almost three minutes to count out 89 cents to the original customer. She looked confused and scared. After she gave the customer change, instead of taking my order, she talked to two employees who were standing to the side, wanting ice cream. So she got them ice cream and ignored a paying customer. She made ice cream cones directly after handling cash. Had the supervisor not been right there, I would have walked away. I spoke to him, and he stated that they periodically have to make change. That was not so much the issue as unclean hands. The supervisor recognized this and washed his hands and made me a cone.
  21. Well I know I'm a star of the forums and all *blushes* Just kidding. I don't understand what you mean tho. Didn't you post in this forum, or in the theming rundown forum, a picture of the stars from Tower Gardens, with a comment about how you had never seen them, and they must have been leftover from the PP days?
  22. The t-shirts have some tie dye influence. KCKC used to be where I would smell weed while in the que line. Many, but not, weed smokers, sport tie dye shirts. The tree in the ride's logo looks like the angry tree from the Wizard of Oz. Maybe there is a connection to the Tin Man boat after all.
  23. In the intro video, I wonder if the paver with the star is a nod to MagentaLizard?
