Colonial Vibes- silver2005's VA/MD trip TR and Planning
BeeastFarmer replied to silver2005's topic in Trip Reports
Tempesto , according to what I was told over the weekend, was going to be down for months. Going on a 4th of July weekend, with a Saturday night concert, I thought was going to be insane. And the Midways were packed. But I never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a ride except darkcoaster. And it was insanely hot, so the ac was welcomed. I don't know how much Quick Queue is, but I'm glad we didn't need it. If you have time, the indoor shows in Ireland and England are incredible. Also, Burgermeister's Hideaway was a great experience, highly recommended if you have $60, 45 minutes and they are not sold out. -
Darkoaster was a blast but the ride itself is too dark and too fast to tell the PT story. My opinion, fwiw, is to convert Boo into a Peanuts based dark ride. Then build a new phantom theater dark ride elsewhere. But that gets tricky because the other areas of the park may not lend themselves to a haunted theater. Doesn't fit the theme of Rivertown and the big box or Coney Mall and the old action theater. Nowhere to put it in AP. If Action Zone is going to eventually be redone as a haunted area, it would fit in well, but I think that will be too long down the road and the show tie in will be gone. Perfect spot would be between ki theater and chicken Shack, but in 20 years, will it be replaced with a Boo Blasters? Of course, it will need a Boo Blasters Encore show to proceed it.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
BeeastFarmer replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
After riding Verbolten, I think a larger version of this would be perfect for The Vortex land. That ride is absolutely the shiz. -
Fury 325 Support Failure
BeeastFarmer replied to Oldschool75's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I shutter to think how this would go with Orion since the GP does not have access to see the ride up close like Fury 325. I think the parks response will be a pivotal moment for the company. They have to plan their move just right and emphasize the way the ride performed and the movement was not a terrible thing. -
Didn't you say that almost 2 years ago? ;/

Top Thrill Dragster Incident
BeeastFarmer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
WW is closed for the time being, they are working on the track and the station and phase one. Phase 2 will be new trains. As far as the single rail at California's Great America, it will be interesting to see if it's relocated or scrapped when the park closes. I have heard that both of these coasters have lots of welds which would make it difficult to relocate. -
A Mesmerizing Adventure: Phantom Theater Encore at Kings Island Rating: ★★★★☆ Kings Island's Phantom Theater Encore takes audiences on a captivating journey, revitalizing fond memories of the park's iconic former ride, the Phantom Theater. This show, anchored by the enigmatic characters No Legs Larry and Maestro, weaves together a series of amusing interruptions and incredible acts. The story unfolds with humor and finesse as the mischievous stage hands, Willis and Boris, seize the limelight to perform their enthralling acrobatic act, "Caught in the Ropes." The duo's flawless execution leaves the crowd in awe, setting the stage for what promises to be an extraordinary performance. However, just when the three glorious headliners, Houdilini, Hilda Bovine, and Garbanzo, are about to grace the stage, they find themselves bamboozled once more. It appears that fate has different plans, as the B cast members replace them, stunning the audience with a marvelous tap dance act. Despite these setbacks, when the trio finally has the opportunity to showcase their talents, the magic truly comes alive. Houdilini, with his mastery of illusion, astounds the crowd by pulling an array of animals from his seemingly bottomless magic hat. The anticipation builds until a ferocious rabbit unexpectedly emerges, injecting a thrilling element of surprise. The enchanting Hilda Bovine follows, captivating listeners with her ethereal voice that soars higher and higher. With each note, her powerful vocals shatter glass, symbolizing the transformative power of her performance. While the idea may seem ominous, the execution is impressive and proves to be a highlight of the show. Garbanzo, the daredevil of the group, takes center stage as he propels himself out of a cannon with extraordinary precision. The audience gasps collectively, their hearts racing, only to be replaced with jubilation as he lands safely, defying all odds. Garbanzo's exhilarating act serves as a fitting grand finale to an evening of sensational entertainment. Phantom Theater Encore brings together an exceptional ensemble of performers, each showcasing their unique talents and leaving a lasting impression on the audience. With its clever storyline, awe-inspiring acrobatics, and breathtaking moments, this show is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity found at Kings Island. While the tale occasionally ventures into dark territory, particularly with Hilda Bovine's glass-shattering vocals, it adds an unexpected layer of excitement and keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Although it may not be suitable for younger and more sensitive individuals, adults and older children will appreciate the show's distinctive blend of magic and danger. All in all, Phantom Theater Encore delivers an unforgettable experience, allowing visitors to relive the nostalgia of the past while being immersed in a world of imagination and wonder. Kings Island has once again created a show that is sure to thrill and captivate audiences seeking adventure and entertainment.

There was a post on social media over the winter with a pic of a restored or reimagined mask. But I don't think it was said they would return to the original spots , but would be very easy to conjecture that they would.

New Phantom Theater Encore Merch (TAKE MY MONEY)
BeeastFarmer replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Kings Island will be getting more of my money next week! Posters, socks, shirts, hats, pins and stickers! -
There was a swarm of honeybees on a car in the parking lot. Swarms are when a good amount of the ladies take the queen to start a new hive. They often stop and rest. Swarms are usually very calm and sedate.

Or post from a Haunt queue line and claim "EXCLUSIVE BEHIND THE SCENES TOUR OF ORION CONSTRUCTION SITE!!!!!" (I'm 92% sure that happened).
-
Let me guess...it will be a YouTube video with either "BREAKING NEWS" or "Xxxxx...LEAKED" or "WE WENT TO Kings Island AND SAW THIS..." Unfortunately, for clicks or a sense of hubris, YouTuber coaster enthusiasts can be annoying. Not all, but the bad apples definitely stink and rot the space.

As an apiarist, this concerns me.

I'm actually continuing this discussion from the food discussion. I think it's more appropriate here. Those of you who have purchased prestige passes... In retrospect, do you feel like you have gotten your money's worth? Is he upgraded parking worth? It? Is the free front of the line pass worth it? Is the cucumber water worth it? Are the VIP areas worth it? For those of you who purchased platinum prestige, or whatever they call it, do you feel like you should be offered benefits at all? All Cedar Fair parks that have those benefits? So for instance, Michigan's Adventure may not have a VIP area, but they probably have preferred parking. Cedar Point definitely has all of the perks of Kings Island. Should you get the benefits there at the price point you paid? Finally, when you see things like individual ride, fast lanes or free bring a friend tickets offered any passholder do you feel like the value of your prestige pass has been diluted? I do apply the company for looking outside the box and seeing what works in other peer groups, but from my perspective as a non -prestige passholder, it just seems like this was rolled out and a terrible fashion and continues to be haphazard. But then again, the people who have spent the money may absolutely love it and have justified reasons. I'm just glad the company is looking for ways to penetrate the market.

If anything is unsafe in that building, I would conjecture that it is the temporary flooring that was put over the roller coaster track in the middle of the building. That would be easily fixed by removing it and replacing it with a new subfloor material such as particle board. That is to say, if they were going to reuse the building for something else. If they wanted a more permanent fix, they would probably have to do some structural work like remove the roller coaster track, add some beams and put in more pressure treated lumber. Does nobody go to the city of Mason anymore? I'm not sure of what local codes are, but if they were going to demolish the building, it seems like they would need a demolition permit. If they were going to make structural changes to it, seems like they would need a building permit.

It's a steel framed building with pressure treated flooring. The roof is good. If it were in danger of collapse, they would have cut electric to it.

Adventure Village confirmed! (Said tongue in cheek but still a wish).

Carowinds 50 Nights of Fire
BeeastFarmer replied to Timchat2's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It's different seeing things live, but this just seems like a copy/paste of KI's FFF. However, it's half the length of FFF, which makes the drone portion much more a part of the show. KI was unique with the Enchanted Voyage, but it was a way to pay tribute to HB at Carowinds. It will be interesting to see how they adapt the show for WOF. And I wish they had used someone else for the voice over. She gets on my nerves at Winterfest. LOL
