  4. I'm not familiar with DT testing, but I have a friend who works in a clinic and did 4 tests today. She gowned, gloved and donned an N95 mask for each patient. Best practice dictates new PPE for each patient. She's not just protecting herself, but the patients she sees after that one as well as co workers and family. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  5. Each test uses an individual kit. The swabs are not reused. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. So by removing the national guard folks from the current hospitals will exacerbate the shortage in the existing facilities. I work in a large academic medical center and have teaching affiliations and several other hospitals and the national guard employees are few and far between. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  7. And when the current medical facilities are understaffed, who is going to staff the parking lot/hotel hospital temporary facilities? It's also time to have the conversation about health care workers being granted hazard pay. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. In the medical arena, "beds" refer to available rooms. That is why a patient might be in a (physical) bed, but might be boarding in the ED, PACU or even hallway until a bed (room) becomes available. Beds may take a while to open because someone died and a family is driving in to see the body before it goes to the morgue, or there isn't a housekeeper to clean the room, or the room is clean but nursing is short staffed so the floor is not accepting patients at the moment. 9. Large hospitals have become tertiary care centers. Smaller hospitals have become less crowded as more complex care has moved to the larger centers. As such, smaller hospitals may have the beds but not the staff. For nursing, there are only so many patients that can be cared for on a shift (ratio). Same with other providers...be it respiratory therapists, housekeeping (infection control), dietary, clinical engineering (maintenance of equipment) and equipment/supply chain management. It's not like the tv dramas at all. Doctors rarely do the things you see them do. Nurses are much more hands on and front line. All that to say...you can't just snap your fingers and have ventilators, blood pressure cuffs, thermometer probes, gloves, gowns, masks, food and most importantly STAFF appear out of nowhere. The steps being taken are appropriate but it takes time. Thinking otherwise is pure foolishness. Even if 500000 vents were to appear overnight, with a critical shortage of nurses and respiratory therapists, not to mention doctors, they will sit idle. The military and civilian ships are q good idea for port cities that have a huge population. I don't think anyone in their right mind would think they would be used inland. But again, you will not have people to staff what we have, much less what is going to be added to the strained system. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  10. Doesn't one branch conduct some kind of training at KI during the off season? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  11. Here's my winning moment of the day: at the endocrinologist, my sample had the best color and clarity of the four that were in the little stainless steel cubby you leave them in. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Based on stock/share/unit valuation alone, SIX, SEAS and FUN have taken a whoppin. "As a result, Six Flags now has the largest market cap of the three companies, at $1.089 billion, while Cedar Fair is down to a $982.6 million market cap, and SeaWorld is worth just $688 million." 13. None of us can accurately predict the future. But I would say that when the park opens, we should support it by spending money there (loosen up the purse strings and don't let this be a "my pass(es) get me in and I'm not spending a dime extra!" season)). Secondly, while this is going to have a large impact on Cedar Fair, they have proven they can be nimble. In the 2018 season, there were several bad weather days and people here were basically foretelling gloom and doom as the company acknowledged it and the share price fell. By adjusting strategies, the company ended the year breaking records and as a result we get Grand Carnivale. Who knows--a wounded SIX going into this pandemic may be a takeover target, or even SEAS, with their massive spending spree lately. I'd welcome the southern parks with open arms, would be a great mix to offset the northern parks that are closed.
  14. I think everything gives you an idea for KI theming! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. Last meal at Cracker Barrel for a while. This good makes me very happy. I hope it does you as well! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. That is false and misleading, most likely influenced by the attention grabbing headlines on social media posts by WKYT and WBRB. What he said was that as of 5 pm, those establishments are to close done in options. They can still offer carry out, drive thru and curb side service as well as delivery. He even encouraged people to support these businesses and committed to doing so for his family at least three meals per week. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. Even if park opening is delayed until July, you still will have summer, fall an winter at the park. I personally don't regret buying my pass; it's a business but I have almost 50 years of loyalty to the park. Even if I only got one visit in this year, over the years it still averages to be a huge bargain. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Who cares? I'm sure someone, somewhere does, but in my world, it won't change my outlook at all.
  19. I think the thing I like most about this topic is that it has put a face to the myth. Jon Harter was only a few years older than me when he died. I can never go up the ET without thinking of his family, and I hope that something good came out of the entire situation.
  20. The only RMC I want on The Racer is a topper track conversation. Or a complete gci retrack with gci millennium flyer trains. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  21. KI has a wysteria tunnel on the way to WWC. It'll be great when it fills in. But I wish we still had the original! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. So, that could tie in well with a tire company or an industry that has no business being discussed here. Lol Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  23. I think if that's your viewpoint, you like to believe it. While I wish people would follow the law AND the wishes of the park, some won't. It won't harsh my day, my love of the park, or of KIC. If it keeps up as a topic of conversation, it just stirs the pot. It's done. Why not just let it go and move on? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  24. Not to mention that when the numbers start to increase because parents hold the kids at home, the schools will not get the daily funding for those students. They will close in a heartbeat so they don't loose the state funding.
  25. I like the Junkyard coaster. But I hate the theming. Modify the fiberglass shell, make the area more richly landscaped, and retheme to a runaway ore cart. Before the second launch could be a dynamite accident. That would tie it into the whole lumber and mining theme of Rivertown. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
