I think the thing I like most about this topic is that it has put a face to the myth. Jon Harter was only a few years older than me when he died. I can never go up the ET without thinking of his family, and I hope that something good came out of the entire situation.

I think if that's your viewpoint, you like to believe it. While I wish people would follow the law AND the wishes of the park, some won't. It won't harsh my day, my love of the park, or of KIC. Not to mention that when the numbers start to increase because parents hold the kids at home, the schools will not get the daily funding for those students. They will close in a heartbeat so they don't loose the state funding.

I like the Junkyard coaster. But I hate the theming. Modify the fiberglass shell, make the area more richly landscaped, and retheme to a runaway ore cart. I think it's a brilliant marketing move. If I were to win, I might go 3 times a year since I live six hours away. And I go between gold at KI and Platinum, so if it were a platinum year, it would be moot. Plus, living this far away, I don't know who I would give the 4 other tickets to. Minimum cost, lots of good press.

Fury has a loud lift motor. The roar on Fury reminds me of Flash Gordon or something. It is a whoosh. I'm looking forward to hearing how Orion compares in person.

The neighbors who complained were evidently near Soak City and were complaining, I assume, about Diamondback's first drop and the mcbr. The Junkyard coaster is a fun ride. It's just out of place. I too, hope for a retheming and clean up of the area.

Sprint was terrible. AT&T has been good so far.

I vote no on a spinner. There are plenty of flats that spin. A coaster doesn't need that gimmick.

Interesting. It was always my understanding that the park tried to sell the ride, even after CF bought the parks.

Most enthusiasts expected props, screens and sounds--which is what we got. There was wild speculation about drop tracks, reverse launches and the like. But if people were disappointed, they set themselves up for it. But, this has been discussed ad nauseum, and this is a Orion thread, so no sense debating it again! [emoji6]

What lesson would they learn? The shed is a great ending to a story line on a themed coaster. I, and many other people, rather enjoy the intricate theming they put into the coaster.

I really hope this is not the last we see Les Productions Haut Vol at KI. I'd love to see them back for GC, Haunt and Winterfest.
