Which commandment is " Whatever you do, don't go in the shed?" Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

As of last year, with a platinum pass, you can get a FLP at a FL price. If you don't have platinum, it might be worth it to upgrade if you're doing a two day trip...plus you may just love it enough to go back again this year! Lodging...in May you can usually get a pretty cheap rate at CP Express. There are plenty of cheap but good motels in Sandusky too. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Maybe someone in the Cincinnati area could answer this: why does this news station have updates about Kings Island in the consumer advocate "don't waste your money" segment? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I was an arborist before my current career as an RN. The linden trees on IS were probably at the end of their expected life. The probably had root systems that had grown into the grassy area around the Royal Fountain as it was easier to get water and nutrients from an irrigated/fertilized area vs the pavers. They had pruned them during the offseason last year, and the decision was probably sealed then. When I was at KD in 2016, I was amazed at the mostly dead ash trees around the Eifel Tower, they looked like a huge liability. I hated to see the trees at KI go, but I think IS will look great. I was more upset about the removal of the last of the gingko trees in the area formerly known as Coney Mall--they had all been moved from Coney Island and they all ended up in the former smoking area as the others died and off and were replaced with maple trees.

I wonder if we will see a construction fence that says #ItsBigItsComing or #ItsBigItsOnTheWay? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I like a nice storyline to go along with a coaster, which we have seen with Twisted Timbers, Copperhead Strike, and Mystic Timbers, and to a lesser extent, Steel Vengeance. (I can't speak to RailBlazer). But once the train leaves the lift hill, I'm not concerned about visual themes, but it is nice to pick that up once you get to the brake run. In the overall cost of the coaster, I would think the cost of theming wouldn't be a huge percentage.

GLOCKENSPIEL TO RETURN FOR Kings Island’S 2019 SEASON
BeeastFarmer replied to nhimes90's topic in Kings Island
I think Mr. Kootnz has a huge influence, but I also think the reaction to Winterfest has energized the park. I think the company is seeing the value of the investment and furthering it more. Winterfest has really excited me. I am an old man, but it truly brought back the magic of the KI of my youth. IS seemed alive. Kids may not express it, but the music, smells and sights can be cemented in your mind. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk -
GLOCKENSPIEL TO RETURN FOR Kings Island’S 2019 SEASON
BeeastFarmer replied to nhimes90's topic in Kings Island
Hmm...it's as if someone reads these message boards, listens, and implements... Winterfest, IS restoration, themed music, glockenspiel...all things we have discussed here. Dare we discuss a Racer renovation? Lol. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk- 59 replies

Yes, I get the Juke Box Dinner is close. But there is no climate control eatery on the north side of the park. And on the south side, we have the Planet Snoopy Grill, Potato Works and Pizza all very close to the climate controlled eatery there. As far as plumbing, if they were to put in my idea (which I doubt would happen), they would have to do major construction. Water and sewer lines are in place since we have the diner and a restroom nearby... Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Would it be ethnocentric where Disney has a park in another country, and smoking is accepted, to allow unfettered smoking anywhere? I think what the market will bear (or is it bare?) comes into play. The percentage of smokers/vapers decreases and the health hazards of the use of tobacco/vape is revealed, the less people partake. People do have a choice to visit or not visit a park.

KIC Podcast #5: Beast Unleashed Giga Concept
BeeastFarmer replied to CoastersRZ's topic in KIC Podcasts
Kentucky Kingdom info: the out of state offer for 2019 is $39.95 for two consecutive days and includes free soft drinks both days. https://shop.kentuckykingdom.com/webstore/shop/viewItems.aspx?cg=outofstate&c=consecday The park has a maximum height limit of around 210', IIRC. I think it is in the area by the Viking ship and goes across the road to the empy field behind Kentucky Flier which is part of the park's future expansion area. I think the Kings Parks have all gotten a pretty good shake under Cedar Fair, with Cwinds, Cland, and KI getting the most investment. Of the legacy CF parks, CP has the most investment and it should as the flagship. KI is definitely on a good path in my opinion. I think a GiGa is in the works, but even if not in 2020, it will be even better

All will be revealed in a few weeks. I'm holding out hope for a return of the pedestals, but it doesn't look hopeful. Maybe the park will auction off the "trashy white tables."
-
LaRosa's--no help there. Skyline--you can order cans and packets from Amazon. Blue Ice Cream--it's not specific to KI. A new store opened close to where I live and sells it and it is WONDERFUL. The Skyline solution for me in the winter helps me get thru the winter.
-
It the foam pedestals included the bases, the weight of the water falling down and pooling before cascading down--that would crush the foam. I really like that idea, though.
-
I'm really impressed with the new pavers. We had a preview of them on Chad Showalter's social media post this winter, but seeing them down near Starbux is really cool. The new trees look great! I'm holding out hope that the fountain pedestals return, but that doesn't look likely. I just hope we get white paint instead of black in the Royal Fountain. (Side note: Did KD and CWonderland have pedestals in their fountains before renovation?) It also looks like they have added some "international" painted designs on Starbux. I hope that goes to the other buildings too.

Firehawk Leaving Kings Island 10/28/18

I was referring to the "censorship" that you conjecture is happening. That is bigger than the Firehawk land and IS. -

This conversation already has its' own thread. But I will just enjoy what information we get as it comes. I think it is common courtesy to abide with the park's wishes on a public forum. Private exchanges, I have no issues with. -

Wow, you're pretty salty about a thread that has yet to exist.
