I am concerned about the Kings Island Complainers comment. I think, if that is true, it should be sourced or it should not have been said in a public forum in the first place. Why bring this point out, which could potentially put park employees in a negative light? I mean, I can see how that label would fit on several people here (some prominent and some not), but that just sounds like something that needs to be kept private.

If I am sitting anywhere near the middle of the train, I have to have assistance. Front or back, i get the lap bar down no problem.

Thanks for the pictures, @IndyGuy4KI! International Street looks awesome. I can't wait to see it in person. And even though I'm on team pedestal, I know that the people at the park now what they are doing. People may not like change. For all we know, the pedestals could return. Or they could be replicated by programming the jets. Or they could part of the park's history, with exciting things for the future. But with all they have done, I think it's too early to tell the final impact. To express opinions is to be expected in a park we are passionate about. I think the folks at the park expect that and I would hope that they know individuals do not tell the whole story of a collective. To the folks who think the removal of the pedestals is a horrible mistake: wait and see. To the ones who think the park can never do a wrong, they can. And to everybody, enjoy this season. I think it's going to be one for the record books. As I started saying around this time two years ago, I sense a very good change coming to KI, and I am more excited about the future of the park that I ever have been.

I think people just miss what was old. Like original old. Kings Island generally excels at what they do and I'm sure this will not be an exception. Maybe we are getting a GiGaFountain? Lol Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

I'll reserve actual judgement until my first visit. But I will miss the pedestals. I was also hoping for a return of the ornate light fixtures. In any event, I applaud the park for reinvesting into nostalgia. Many of the things I've hoped for have come to pass. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

So they purposely built a fence that left the top of Firehawk's wings exposed...high point...wings...gigawing confirmed. Lol Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

But in the numerous updates this offseason, the park has shown photos of the concrete being poured before the landscaping was completed on KMAA. To access the dirt areas after the track was poured, they set up wooden supports over the concrete to protect it, looked similar to pallets to me.

GLOCKENSPIEL TO RETURN FOR Kings Island’S 2019 SEASON
BeeastFarmer replied to nhimes90's topic in Kings Island
I know there used to be a fountain in front of the Festhaus. But this planter in new for 2019 isn't it? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk -
I rarely drink alcohol, but a Long Island Iced Tea by the Royal Fountain sounds awesome! They could rename it and make it a KI original...Kings Island Iced Tea! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

The Interpreter was a little under five years ahead of the times on this one.

But you know that Blitz coaster is going to be by Mack, right? And they are going to plant B&M bushes but no Intamin coastal redwood trees.

Since KI is focused on nostalgia, I think this confirms a GiGa version of Top Gun. CF will once again feature a ride from the past, but what was old is new again. They just haven't announced it yet because the contracts for the naming rights haven't been inked. #GiGaconfirmed #TopGun2020KI #kidding #parody #parodyinghashtags

The Old Magic is New Again. C'mon Get Happy! (Ok, so I borrowed the last part from 1972)

Carowinds Questions

It's been 3 years. I have Culver's locally, so no loss for me. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk -
I wonder if the restraints have to do with NJ requirements? Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

Culvers closed before the park did. ;( -
^I didn't see any trains in the FOF building during the 2018 Coasterstock tour.

I'm just extrapolating here. I kind of hope nothing is there because I want to enjoy the beginning of this season and all it has to offer before all the drama of speculation begins. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk

^So, by extension, if the poster was correct that the NOC is filed after plans are approved, the permits/paperwork should be available by whatever protocol the local governing body has in place.
-
If something is presented before a city committee, I would think it would be a matter of public record.
-
OK, so I am not in the building/construction industry, but...A person above stated that a NOC has to be filed to inform the local government that work has begun on a project(s) that have previously been approved by their departments. If this is the case, wouldn't the plans for whatever is going to be done on file? It's not like the park can go to the city and say, "Hey, we are going to build a roller coaster, we will file our NOC when we are ready to begin!" Also, I would think a NOC would cover the years listed. They don't have to file a NOT (Notice of Termination) do they?

I think the first time I rode The Beast was in 1981 or 1982; I rode The Beastie in 1980 and it scared me to death, but I managed to ride The Racer the same day. But since my first ride, it has always been a favorite, even as a non-enthusiast. The Beast and Kings Island are responsible for me becoming obsessed. Mid-May 2014, a friend and I visited. We usually went once a year, but had skipped a few years because we went on a Saturday Haunt--not knowing the ins and outs back then, we were disgusted and vowed to never go again because of the experience. We got two-day tickets at Kroger, planned our days. The first day, it was cold, damp and rainy. Many of the things we did, we literally were the only people on the ride/attraction/eatery. And the associates were stellar. I knew they had to be cold, wet and miserable, but they smiled and genuinely seemed like they wanted us to have a good time. This was when every transaction was completed with "Have a FUN day!" My friend doesn't ride The Beast, so I got introduced to solo riding, and rerides....and rerides....and rerides...I think I rode 15 times that day! The next day was a little warmer and less damp, but several buses were in the parking lot for field trips. We went for a few hours, then she introduced me to Jungle Jims, we went to IKEA and a late lunch at Olive Garden and parted ways. She lives in Dayton, I live in Kentucky, so I decided to go back to the park! I rode The Beast several more times that day. I upgraded my ticket to a Gold Pass and got a dining plan. I haven't looked back since then. Riding The Beast several times in a row hooked me. My friend and I still go at least once a year; but we try to do Haunt on a Friday night. This year, we did New Years Eve at WinterFest and had a blast. She is a Disney gal and she said WinterFest was on par with her Disney holiday experience.

Holiday World, Kentucky Kingdom and Cedar Point are parks and are relatively close to KI. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
