  1. That's awful. Hindsight being perfect of course, maybe watermark your pictures you post. Of course, don't make the watermark as big as the photo. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  2. I rode Vortex during it's inaugural season. A friend of mine from high school were at KI, and after riding The Beast, we decided to get in line---the line went to about where Dogems is today. The sign said it was a three hour wait, so we went to RT LaRosa's got pizza and went back and in line, which instead of 3 hours, was about 30 minutes despite being that far up Coney Mall. We rode and I distinctly remember the first loop--the first time I had ever been upside down on a ride--I was terrified the restraint was going to fail, and I would meet death. Then, the corkscrew seemed in slow motion. The batwing was intense and the ending helix made me nauseated. I barely made it to the CM restrooms after the ride, where I lost my pizza. We got back on and rode again several times and I loved it. Fast forward to 2014 and I became obsessed with KI and roller coasters. Wouldn't do upside down coasters because when I rode FOF in 2008, I was green. In 2015, Thunderbird cured my fear. I have ridden Vortex ever since. My friend and I lost touch after college, we actually sat beside each other at the college ceremony because of our names. The university ceremony, didn't see him. That was the last time I ever saw him. He became a youth minister. He committed suicide in 2007, so I silently dedicate every ride to his memory when I ride Vortex now. I normally ride The Beast at the end of October, but this year I am to make Vortex my final ride.
  3. Even CSF is dismayed Six is gone. (humor)
  4. I think a lot of people are dismayed at the ban of sixohdieselrage. I'm not going to go off topic, but another thread has garnered much attention with that topic.
  5. @collin.klopfstein, I really really like the GiGa concept in Action Zone! Good job!
  6. And this is why internet enabled devices should not be in use during class time.
  7. Well, that's disappointing. I can see the theme, but the music does not set a mood in my opinion. After all the strides taken with music over the past couple of years, it kind of seems like a backwards step. I'll have to make my final opinion when I visit though. But last year, Haunt felt like a summer day in Action Zone with rock music playing. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  8. For those who have been to Haunt this year... Do they have the punk rock music set as atmospheric background, like they did last year? or do they have scary background music and noises like Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street, with random spooky noises coming over the speakers? 9. When I rode it, there was no separate load/unload areas. This was in June 2016.
  10. Money is important to Cedar Fair. They own the park and run it as they see fit. I'd guess they see an opportunity to make more money by having a buyout and then opening that being open to the public all day.
  11. I went to a presentation by Adam House and he was complimenting GCI's carpenters for working in the harsh winter conditions erecting Mystic Timbers and others.
  12. So this is going to show industry ignorant I am, but here goes: B&M designs the coasters. They have detailed engineering and architectural plans. But the park acts as a general contractor for the erection. But GCI and RMC design and build their coasters, right?
  13. Gotta say that I am impressed with the lineup for KK's Halloween event. Two haunted houses and what looks like 3 scare zones, or specialty areas. Plus Friday the 13th in the theater. And I have to wonder if the "King of Halloween" is a jab at Kings Island? On the surface, it looks like it is just a natural progression of having a King of the Kingdom, but it just seems like they are challenging Haunt.
  14. Brother, you missed out by not getting on Volcano: The Blast Coaster. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. I would have thought Volcano: The Blast Coaster (RIP) or that one on CP's beach (Twister?) would have been your favorite? Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. The rattle doesn't bother me as much as the ride does. I don't dislike it, it just doesn't deserve the hype. I like the muted roar, but I like Raptor's roar better. It is beautiful on the skyline, but it's just not a fun ride for me. But, we each have our own perspective. Others might not love The Beast like I do. I respect that, but vehemently disagree. So all you Banshee fanboys out there, don't be throwing shade at me! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  17. Everyone hyped up I305 when I told them I was going to KD. It was OK--just not all that. Intense, kind of like a King sized Maverick. But not hype worthy to me. But I like Magnum XL-200 more than Maverick. I think Orion will be a great ride and better than I305. Sorry, @Maverick44
  18. I can only hope. The entire ride needs a renovation. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  19. I like The Maples Motel. It's on Cleveland Rd, about 8 minutes or so from the causeway. Very much a 50's feel, owned by an individual not a franchisee. Was affordable. Good water pressure, but military style shower heads. No renovations have been made, but I found that refreshing. He has gourmet donuts, fruit and juice in the office every morning for free. The only downside is a VERY loud train across Cleveland Rd, there is a crossing and the horn is jarring. But after about 5 passes, I was used to it. The owner is extremely nice.
  20. Nom nom nom. I luvs slaughterhaus!
  21. I don't think you can buy gold dining with a platinum pass. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  22. I've come to appreciate the new Royal Fountain. But I don't really see any shows. I see patterns, but it is not synched to anything. That was what my expectation was. The old fountain had patterns. This is not to say that I don't appreciate what they did, but it didn't match my expectation. But 99.9999999999% of the park guests probably don't have the same expectation that I do.
  23. I second what @Magenta Lizard said. They have really made Tower Gardens a nice place to sit and relax. And I do! I'd love to see replaced pavers and some classic French accents, but even as is, it is wonderful.
  24. Magic Mountain-great rides but terrible park. For a top tier park, the standards were terrible. One train ops for a busier time, surley employees, and just an overall bad time. Great Adventure-awesome park. Great rides, safari was awesome. Some of the best performing staff I have seen in the parks I have been to. Great food. The others you listed, I have not been to. I dropped my SIX pass a couple of years ago because they make it very difficult to give them my money. I understand the first time you buy a pass, you have to visit the park to process it, but after that initial purchase you should be able to renew yearly online, similar to the way FUN does it. I know a membership allows that, but I would rather pay a lump sum than monthly payments. As for the announcement, to each their own. Each park has posted their additions, but I'd like to see them have more local control. On this thread, I am speaking more from an enthusiast standpoint, and I will admit my bias: I think Cedar Fair, in general, does a better job with presenting themselves. And poor Magic Mountain. WCR is going to be an awesome ride, but it's almost September and there is no signs of it opening.
  25. I feel so sorry for people who have a Six Flags as a home park. The cringe is, indeed, terrible. Some good additions for them, but I do like letting the parks make their own announcements like Cedar Fair does.
