Hendrick Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I'm sort of disappointed that they are putting up a fence next to The Racer. It would have been fun to watch from WindSeekers line while you are waiting. Quote
DoctorDiablo Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Nice to see Vortex getting some testing in Also, it was worth the wait for Webcam 2 to be revived now that we can enjoy some nice Kings Island green canopy to go along with our new addition. I'm getting more and more excited, guys. Quote
Oldschool75 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Don sent me a message on FB. He said they will let everyone know if WS will not open on time. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I`m still not seeing webcam 2 show up on that page... I`ll personally be shocked if WindSeeker is ready by 10am (or even 9am for the early ride time), on Saturday, just by how much work is left to be done between now and then. We`re talking less than 45 hours! Quote

Oldiesmann Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 My guess is that they will open Racer or another ride in that general area if WindSeeker isn't done in time, though I know most of us would prefer that big snake over in Rivertown. Quote
TheSnapper Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Great pictures.... I highly doubt the ride will be open on time.... I believe the main reason will be because of all this crazy weather that has been going on there! Quote

Or even the one in the woods. Probably "Songebob Scratchy Film Pants"(sometimes in 3D) though. I love how it seems the scratches are coming right off the screen at you! Quote
Oldiesmann Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I'd be surprised if they opened Action Theater for ERT. Racer seems like the most logical choice since it's in the same general area (or even Shake, Rattle & Roll). Quote
Coaster Kid Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Even if WS is not open Saturday I hope they light it up at night so we can get some pictures! Quote
jcgoble3 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 According to WLWT, WindSeeker will not be open Saturday. Discuss here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23711 Quote
KIfan1980 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 ...Gordon - you are right that most on these forums aren't qualified to answer whether it will open, but many on these forums have experience in fields that give us cause for concern at the least. .. Sorry but other peoples experience in various lines of work won't help either. And to think I got my hopes up after this response because I've been told so many times that AZ is in a position to know and shouldn't be doubted. Quote
Dieseltech20 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 A delayed opening is NOT a surprise to me at all. I mean it has rained/stormed almost everyday this month. Quote
standbyme Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 KIfan1980...nice post...the knife does cut both ways doesn't it! Quote
Avatar Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Maybe the saying "Those who don't know talk and those who do don't' should be changed to "Those who don't know, know! and those who do know don't" Quote
Vortex Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 What are the odds of them opening the ride later on in the day if everything goes right. I am not counting on it just would be a nice surprise. Quote
Dill Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Facebook Message from Kings Island's Page: "Opening Day Update: WindSeeker will not be open this Saturday when the park opens for the 2011 season. Our newest thrill ride will be open once we've completed the commissioning and testing process. Gold and Platinum Season Passholders will enjoy early ride time on The Beast and Diamondback at 9:00am this Saturday - one full hour earlier than park opening. Pass Processing and Ticket Sales windows open at 8:30am." Quote
mikejenkins1 Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Yep, as expected it is not ready. Not a big deal but it is as many of us had expected. I am sure bad/rainy weather did not help at all. Quote
HTCO Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Hopefully some members on these here boards take the ERT on Diamondback and The Beast as sort of a nod that WindSeeker won't be open. And all the complaining can stop here. Quote

And all the complaining can stop here. Agreed. The way I see it is that the crew did the best they could despite the unfavorable weather conditions. These things happen...let's not forget that we're still getting a stellar attraction! Quote
Flat Freak Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Disappointing, but hardly surprising. The weather this month has been ridiculous. Quote
thekidd33 Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Looks like they have some of the lights on again this evening. Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 And all the complaining can stop here. Yeah. right. That's wishful thinking. People have not only complained about the addition of an exhibit that only costs extra if they choose to, they complain about the placement of a fake advertisement dinosaur, trees dying in vain after the announcement of SoB's status, the potential removal of an 8 year old senory ride, and believe HH is satanic. Captain Nemo Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Check out the webcam, more lights now being tested. Different from the ones we saw a few days ago. On my way back to my place I got a video since I know all of you would be interested. Unfortunately this is the camera I had with me and it did not really show everything that I saw with my own eyes so sorry about the quality. Quote
CedarPointer Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Am I the only one who would rather have those lights on the Eiffel Tower than WindSeeker? They look great on WindSeeker, but I'd like way more to see the Eiffel Tower lit up at night again from the front. Quote
CoastersRZ Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 I agree with that too. I was saddened to learn last year that they would only be lighting the back side of the Eiffel Tower. I wish they had done both the back or front, or better yet, all four sides! Quote
standbyme Posted April 29, 2011 Posted April 29, 2011 Nemo, Thanks for taking the time to take...and post the video! Quote
KIfan73 Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 It looks like the remaining seats are being installed now... http://www.visitkingsisland.com/public/fun/webcams/index.cfm Quote
