SonofBaconator Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Flight Deck Congo Falls Racer Zephyr Other(SOB doesn't count) Quote
stashua123 Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Flight Deck: I got to marathon on it 8 times without getting off! Quote
KI FANATIC 37 Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I disagree. I say Congo Falls. I've never ridden it and I never see a line for it. I k ow its not Flight Deck or Racer. It's between CF and Zephyr 1 Quote
westcoaster Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 move congo to the water park it would be fun! 1 Quote
flightoffear1996 Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 The waterpark does need some kind of large scale ride there. Quote
IndyGuy4KI Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I am curious as to why you only picked those rides? What if there was a change in the area a ride is placed that would make the ridership go up? How much would the ridership go up on the rides in AZ if SOB was open or another big coaster was sitting in it's place? I may be wrong, but it seems that ridership on The Beast went up when DB opened. Also, If you compare Congo Falls and RFYLCB it seems that RFYLCB is more popular. It may be, but I consider that the capacity per boat is a 1/4 of boat on Congo Falls. Perception may not be the facts. Quote
dudecoasterman Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 I don't understand why Racer is on this pole. Every time I've gone this year its had a good sized line. 1 Quote
jcgoble3 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Actually, I would say that the answer to the question that has been posed would be "none of the above". The real answer would likely be either Xtreme Skyflyer or Slingshot, probably Slingshot as it can only do two riders at once compared to Skyflyer's six at a time (three on each side). 2 Quote
icecoldfirebird Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 definitely congo falls there is nothing to it white water canyon is way better and every time i go it is walk on rain or shine 1 Quote
Elkman Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 The ridership on that one train ride on the fringe of Planet Snoopy is pretty low. I walked by it the last time I was at KI, and was surprised by the zero guests on the ride, or waiting in line. The ride op looked rather bored. Quote
BavarianBeatle Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I have no idea, but I would guess it would be a ride that is not open on Haunt Nights. Quote

If you're referring to Snoopy's Junction, then you're wrong. Its popularity depends on the time of day. Early in the day, it's quite popular. As the parents with young children start to leave later in the day, its popularity will decline. Quote
Titan Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Shake, Rattle, & Roll has a pretty small line usually. Along with Zephyr. Those are the two rides I usually hit up when the park's busy, or when I've already rode everything. They're still pretty fun and give you a nice breeze on hot days. Quote
faeriewench Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 A line (to me) has little to no bearing on a rides popularity. 1 Quote
MarketingExpress Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 A consistently short line does not necessarily mean an unpopular or least ridden ride, it could be that the ride is so efficient that there is rarely a line. I am also perplexed on why Racer is on this list. If you combine the 2 sides, it's the attraction that gives the most rides in the entire park every year. Quote

kingsislandfan1972 Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 In the past few years, I haven't really seen a line for Congo Falls. I like White Water Canyon over Congo Falls any day when it's hot. Quote

BoddaH1994 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 A new ride certainly influences ridership locally. Hence why the area is typically spruced up near the newer attractions. 1 Quote
medford Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 Congo Falls rarely has lines, and unless the canyons get you on the exit, you don't get too wet if you sit in the back (unless its a nearly empty boat as my son & I discovered). I'd guess amongst those listed, that is the choice, though overall, Slingshot is the likely winner, slow load times, only 2 at a time, upcharged, etc... With that said, Congo Falls offers one of the best, if not the best moment of air time in the park, the drop is outstanding. If you don't mind getting anywhere from a little to a lot wet, its short lines make it well worth your time. 2 Quote
malem Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 ^ As of 2012, Slingshot was indeed the least ridden ride. Congo Falls was far from being the least popular. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/26753-ki-2012-rider-counts-rip-thunder-alley 2 Quote
Guest dtk1376 Posted October 20, 2014 Posted October 20, 2014 I suppose the capacity of Congo Falls helps out immensely with that ride, I have seen days that there is a decent sized line for it but it always moves really fast. Capacity is truly important with ride counts, if you look at the thread linked by malem you'll notice that popular rides with low capacity such as Monster, Drop Tower, and Surf Dog have a lower ride count than Congo Falls. On a side note, I wonder how much Wind Seeker has cut into the Zephyr's ride numbers since it opened, I would imagine not much since it seems to be down almost half the year every year. 2 Quote
