marth555 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 KI has plenty of room left without removing a single thing. Its an old joke 3 Quote
Tr0y Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I could see the waterpark getting an expansion. When weather is good, that place draws a HUGE crowd. However I wouldn't be surprised if Rivertown is up next, it's been somewhat neglected in ways for awhile unless you count RHoF as an expansion. Something makes me think that the box will potentially be utilized in some way. If not, I'd bet at least the blacktop gets ripped up finally at minimum over there. My thing is I'd like to see: Eiffel Tower repainted (It's borderline terrible, it's rusted and flaking like hell) Band Organ fixed for good (pay someone to do it right, last years half assed job was great and all, but it didn't last, and early this year it sounded like crap) Fix lights on everything. There's no reason Vortex chaser lights should be burnt out, or the Carousel, or anything. This isn't the Kinzel era. Cedar Point was a night and day difference with Ouimet and it looks much better. Fix this here. Find something to do with the majority of Tower Gardens and the old Starlight area. Just grass is somewhat wasteful to me. There's so much room to utilize. Also while add it, fix or get rid of International Showplace... Make the fountains on the Street like the ones at Kings Dominion with the black bottom an dancing fountains. I'd love to see the pedestal deals stay incorporated as they look great, however, if they left I wouldn't be completely bummed considering what the new fountains can do and how it'd look They did all that one year, I'd be happy, no park improvement, no large capital addition, nothing. Just give me some TLC and some fresh stuff, and I'm a happy dude. However I'm not the target market, some people want a capital expense, so it is what it is. Add Adventure Express to that list, such an neglected coaster. Quote
TheCandyManCan Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 AE is sadly neglected yes, I'd love to see the theming intact. However I've never held CF up to any level regarding theming, so I take what I can get. The coaster runs well regardless of how well the last lift hill interaction seems to be. 5 Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'd say the Eiffel Tower needs a fresh, quality paint job in the high-visibility areas, such as the railings and "walls" of the observation decks. I'd also pull up the nasty floor plates and replace them with the much more modern, safe stainless-steel "smart-drain" flooring plates (and not paint them!) (the existing floor plates are very safe and durable, but they're ugly). The elevator windows could use some washing, too. The fountains need to look less like a dirty swimming pool, too, I agree. 5 Quote
CoasterDirected Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I'm really fine next year with getting the park better looking. I want them to do something along the line of what Kings Dominion is doing this year and last year. 7 Quote
Bansheeback Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 KI has some great landscaping and looks better than most regional amusement parks. I feel that Soak City needs some love next year. A slide complex would be awesome! We really need some more slides. 3 Quote
WindingSon Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 However, you go to Cedar Point and the difference is noticeable. 2 Quote
purdude86 Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Another new ride that could be good for X-Base is the new Enterprise model that Huss just unveiled. The new design looks great and could be a fun ride. Lighting package on it could look amazing too 5 Quote

IBEW_Sparky Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Kings Island 2016 breaking announcement.....The Year of the Paint: Sponsored by Sherwin Williams! 20 Quote
Gabe Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Racer could use a nice paintjob Vortex got a new coat a couple of seasons ago. The brake shed was also whitewashed at Racer a couple of seasons ago, but was soon back to its current, grimy self, thanks to those who don't respect other's property. 10 Quote
rhyano Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I would love some paint along with a flat in X-Base or a slide complex in Soak City 3 Quote
KevinKoasters Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 They should expand and retheme Action Zone. There is plenty of room left from the Son of Beast removal and if they take down the old station they would have room for a path back there and it might also bring people to The Bat again. 2 Quote
Dalefan Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I would like to see the midways get new lights and such. Something like CP did. 9 Quote
CoasterDirected Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Would you think the KI Giga could use SoB's station? 1 Quote
silver2005 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Racer could use a nice paintjob Along with some hefty re-tracking. 1 Quote
Bansheeback Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Would you think the KI Giga could use SoB's station? I don't think the question is if it could rather than if they would. If they wanted to they could make the necessary arrangements, but with the new theming and all, I don't think they would. Quote
upstop Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Keep in mind that 2017 is KIs 45th anniversary. They might hold out for a major attraction until then. And in only 7 years KI would be 50 years old!!!! Where the heck did time go!!! 8 Quote
Miythandria Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 I wouldn't mind a "retro" ride being reintroduced. Something along the lines of a sky ride, Bayern Curve, or even Tumble Bug. Although I love the big coasters, one can still have fun on something much simpler. 11 Quote
WindingSon Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Was The Bat not enough? I think an old ride coming back is the least likely scenario. Unless there's a new model that they're willing to take a risk on, like the new HUSS Enterprise. 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Given the TR:TR experience and the Giant Frisbee maintenance issues, that would shock and amaze me. 9 Quote
upstop Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Does anyone currently manufacture the "Tumblebug" type ride? If so, I'd be all for that...simple yet fun. Or heck why not another Keel Boat type ride. Chance Rides seems to have a few interesting flat rides that I wouldn't mind seeing at our park too. 5 Quote
coasterking88 Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Probably won't happen but I'm still holding out hope for a dragster. That would really help to complete the park. 3 Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 Kentucky Kingdom had them as an upcharge attraction. They were loud and, after the initial novelty wore off, not very popular. 4 Quote
electricsun Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 After riding Dorney Park's Whip, I want one much much closer. The little kids shouldn't be the only ones enjoying that experience! 12 Quote
TombRaiderFTW Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 There's one at Kennywood, if that's any closer for you. 9 Quote
The Interpreter Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 See Camden Park, Huntington, West Virginia. Also Kennywood, West Miflin, Pennsylvania. 10 Quote
