Imperial79
If anyone wants to vote, on Kings Island's twitter account they are voting for which ride is the most missed. Three more hours left to vote. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR
rcwizard13
That moment when you check the dates for Coasterstock and realize it's the weekend of your graduation...
Magenta Lizard
Graduation only takes a few hours! You can do both! I would have picked Coasterstock over my graduation, honestly.
The Interpreter
You obviously didn't have my parents. Terp--who went to two of his college graduations only because of his parents—and doesn't regret it one little bit. They would have been so disappointed (and I was SOOO bored--especially at my UK undergrad one...loooooong and as exciting as watching other people bowl--almost.)
Magenta Lizard
True, it is the only reason I went to either of mine. I would /pick/ Coasterstock, but probably would have gone to graduation too, for my family's sake. My high school one, I actually dozed through a good portion. Which was a little embarrassing because I was in the front row near the center, on stage behind the people giving speeches, at the time.
bengals fan
I missed my high school graduation because my appendix burst the night before. I think that is why I enjoyed my daughter's so much.
MysticsTimber
Sorry I missed yesterday!! The days are getting colder and colder. Snow begins to cover the grounds. But here's a warm and fuzzy thought! We're getting closer to Opening Day at Kings Island!! 89 days to be exact!! (Disclaimer: These photos that I will be posting are photos that I have taken myself and these edits are mine as well. If at anytime I don't use a photo that belongs to me, I will cite the source.) Edit: I just realized I put 4/18/16 instead of 4/16/16 Banshee, feeling ashamed.
MysticsTimber
It's getting closer with every passing second!! 88 days until Opening Day at Kings Island!!
rcwizard13
It's getting closer with every passing second!! 88 days until Opening Day at Kings Island!! You should create a KI Opening Day Countdown account on Twitter to post these pictures to. At least, that's what I would do if I was taking the time to edit a daily countdown photo.
KIDB
Drove by the park today on the way home from the Newport Aquarium. My kids squealed with joy. Can't wait until opening weekend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
BeeastFarmer
A co-worker is staying at Great Wolf Lodge and sent me photos of the parking lot today. It's hard to tell, but it did look scarified. Who knew that looking at cell phone photos of a parking lot would bring a little warmth on a cold day?
CoastersRZ
The correct term for the "scarified" parking lot would be milled pavement. I am not confirming or denying that any part of Kings Island`s parking lot has been milled.
The Interpreter
I really wish Kenny wouldn't have milled old Garfield. That cat's scarified enough in West Miflin already.

BeeastFarmer
I will attempt to grab them from Facebook and import them here. Or you could just become a Facebook friend. But, they are cell phone pics and as such, may or may not be filtered by my eyes, wanting to see a newly resurfaced parking lot.
CoasterOhio
Alright, thanks. I think it could be easy to tell when that horrific sight of asphalt is an even more horrific sight, but if would be so lovely, and buttery smooth (I hope at least) once/or if they are repaving it!
CoasterOhio
New game coming to rivertown in 2016!Soccor ChallengeFrom Twitter. With the hint "Watch the goalie before kicking the ball toward the net."
aandjgoods
I was just informed by someone close to me who works for the paving company on site right now, that they are going to repave the parking lot.
CoasterOhio
Could you confirm? What is the paving company's name? When are they going to do it? Just figured it's best to confirm.
KIfan73
If this were to be true, I would think it would take a parade of paving trucks running from now until opening day to get it done. That's one large parking lot. I'd hate to think of how many miles of highway that thing would be equivalent to.
CoasterOhio
I can measure it tonight and find out.
CoasterOhio
Or it could be a new offer Park in the freshly paved parking lot when you purchase a gold pass or platinum pass.
The Interpreter
Normally, asphalt plants close for the winter and do not re-open until spring.
aandjgoods
Could you confirm? What is the paving company's name? When are they going to do it? Just figured it's best to confirm. John R Jurgensen is the paving company and I was told the project should be completed in the spring which makes sense since the park will be opening in April. How long it takes to repave an entire parking lot that size I have no idea?
CoasterOhio
Doing calculations... The size of the lot is 76* acres. (As a guestimate really, since the new parking lot does not show up on google earth which is why the * is there.) and I'd say that's probably how much is really going to remain, there might be new parking areas where the old south lanes were once at.
CoastersRZ
There are scientific ways of calculating acres and such. For example, one acre contains, 43,560 square feet. And one square mile equals 640 acres.
MysticsTimber
Snow on the ground again. ((( Here's a warmer thought without snow. 86 more days until Kings Island's Opening day!
bjcolglazier
Changing up the Early Ride Time rides from month-to-month. Shame to see Banshee off the list until August, but I think I'm more happy to see additional diversity in the choices. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/passholder/offer-detail/Passholder-Early-Ride-Times/?mobile=0
Pagoda Gift Shop
I agree the diversity will be a good thing. The only comment I would make is that unless Diamondback can perform better this year, I'd rather have it be on the ERT all the time.
rcwizard13
That's some great diversity. I particularly like the inclusion of X-base and Drop Tower.
