Losantiville Mining Co.
Today's big announcement being an announcement for an announcement timeline seems pretty on-par for Six Flags, especially considering the fact that one of the announcements was originally announced back in November. Six Flags Over Texas is going to have their 2026 giga dive announcement in September. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels is getting something major in 2026. Fiesta Texas is removing two slides, possibly for new ones in 2026. Could we see more of the 2026 additions announced in September, or will the company decide to go wild and announce things with no rhyme or reason? I'd assume they learned their lessons about needing to announce ride removals after the 2024 Ride Purge. Let's hope we don't have to wait too much longer to find out what will and will not be in the parks for 2026.

Siebert has been teasing a big project for 2027. At Winterfest he said B&M was involved. I wouldn't be surprised to see a hyper coaster in this location going around the water park and out by the parking lot.
Losantiville Mining Co.
Six Flags Over Texas will reveal their 2026 addition on September 25th. I think the giga dive will have a bull theme, since the teaser the park released had a Running of the Bulls vibe. They're also been completing a lot of improvements around SFOT including a renovation of their Palace Theater. I've been watching some of the progress that SFOT Source has been showing and the transformation has been super stunning to say the least. The two slides that will be removed at Fiesta Texas do look like they'd be a good spot for a hyper coaster. They also announced the removal of Bubba's Cafe / Bubba's Burgers which is on the other side of Dr. Diabolical Cliffhanger, so I wonder what could be going there. Maybe another VIP Lounge or a new restaurant altogether. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels new attraction teaser was interesting since it only showed underwater bubbles and said something was coming. I wonder if everything else will be announced in September? Or maybe it will be a more staggered rollout of announcements. Hopefully we'll also see some good and fun announcement signage to build up hype throughout the Fall and Holiday seasons.
Losantiville Mining Co.
Circling back to this now that we're almost in October As of September 29, 2025 here is what the capital investments currently planned for the 2026 operating season look like: Carowinds will introduce a record-breaking water ride WORK STALLED Canada’s Wonderland will add a new record-breaking water attraction UNOFFICIALLY CANCELLED Kings Island will introduce a new family thrill attraction ANNOUNCED; "Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare" Knott’s Soak City will receive a water park refresh and aesthetic enhancements UNKNOWN Six Flags Magic Mountain will debut a first-of-its-kind coaster in North America WORK STALLED Six Flags Great America will celebrate its 50th anniversary, debuting a new kids’ area, commemorative events and park enhancements UNKNOWN Six Flags Great Adventure will unveil a record-breaking launch coaster WORK CONTINUING; PROJECT DELAYED Six Flags Over Texas will unleash a record-breaking dive coaster ANNOUNCED; "Tormenta: Rampaging Run Six Flags Mexico will introduce a family thrill boomerang coaster ANNOUNCED; "Speedway Stunt Coaster" Valleyfair TEASED; "Superior Shores Waterpark" So, currently we have 4/40 parks confirmed to be receiving capital investments for 2026... Carowinds and Magic Mountain's additions seem to be canceled, Canada's Wonderland could go either way, and nothing has been released for Knott's Soak City or SF Great America. Great Adventure's new coaster is still steaming ahead, so I'm curious as to if their "beyond 2026" statement was meant to mean something other than it opening in 2027. SFOT said they'd like to finish their work by early 2026. I wouldn't be shocked to see Knott's open Montezooma's Revenge as a New for 2026 attraction either. The Six Flags/Peanuts license agreement was renewed so we likely won't see a massive changing of the guard for that in 2026. Am I missing anything? It doesn't look like Cedar Point will get anything ride-wise for 2026 so far. There could be a bunch of relocations from Six Flags America (Valleyfair is probably getting slides from them), so it'll be interesting to find out about those. We might see the new websites and mobile apps in November as well as the new CEO being named around then. The future of Six Flags is definitely looks interesting right now.
Kenban
Traditionally neither legacy Six Flags nor Cedar Fair relocated water slides. The refurbishment and expense to carefully take down and move water slides has typically outweighed any savings. Water slides are pretty cheap, and it’s typically better to just buy new. My expectation is Ragin Cagun, maybe great chase, some flat rides, and parts and trains to be all gets relocated from SFA.

Losantiville Mining Co.
TWO Great Recessions in the span of 15-20 years? It's more likely than you'd think. (An absolutely insane graph to see. I won't claim to understand how this graph is supposed to work, but what's with the inconsistent Y-axis? Is that a special stock thing? It goes down by 7 and then by 8 twice. Either way, cutting stock value in half is probably never a good thing.)

What we see is the company in essence has lost close to 50% of its stock value when based on the stock value at the beginning of the year. I added a full graph. Gather what you will but the writings on the wall. We’re in a recession for the company.

Gather what you will but the writings on the wall. We’re in a recession for the company. There are a lot of reasons why companies have ebbs and flows on the market. For some this is great news, others this is terrible news. (This is not financial advice, nor is it put out to be such) I'm not at all surprised with how SIX has turned out. The haunt program absolutely was a flop, sure you squeezed out some more dollars but at the cost of losing your trust of your most loyal fanbase who is honestly probably the biggest driver of costs. Which, I'm glad they called out the "upgrades" as they removed several spots where scareactors would be housed and added in animatronics instead. This year alone we saw disjointed enforcement of the chaperone policy, lackluster PR communication and now we're seeing the "biggest sale of the year" leak into practically month 3. Is that an indicator of poor sales or a desperate plea to get people to go to other poorer performing parks? Let's not even forget the preferred parking fiasco that I now deal with every time I go to KI. (Last time I kid you not the attendant said good luck finding a spot". Notice how they are not promoting the silver pass anymore and mainly the gold pass, how the park passport has literally been cheapened out beyond belief. I can honestly say, this is the most absurd management of a chain I have ever seen. The product is far cheaper, which will create more logistical problems I don't think this management can really handle. The chain is not working, the combined company experience is going belly up at the altar of "synergies" and the shareholder, who is now feeling a ~46% reduction in value from this time last year. In my humble opinion, demerge, cut your losses, if that means we lose a smaller park or two so be it, but this experiment has gone on far enough. Again, this should not be taken as financial advice, nor is an intention to solicit any transaction associated with the FUN stock.
Losantiville Mining Co.
I think they might even need to do more than de-merge. They need to split into three separate companies and entirely remove the Six Flags branding from any park not named "Over Texas" or "Over Georgia". There are enough big parks to share between 3 chains and it would be preferable over going back to the two companies that got them into this mess. Good luck getting another chain to buy parks as well because that's not going to happen. Three companies, twenty-five(ish) dry parks (most with an attached water park), and a much more manageable workload for all.
SmartCat7162
If you were to split up the parks how would you do it?
Losantiville Mining Co.
It depends on whether I'm doing my dream rotations or if I'm being more realistic, but as it stands there could be about 9 parks per chain if divided equally. I'll give my dream rotation and let everyone else fight over what a more realistic one might be. Chain #1: Crown Entertainment Co. Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, Fiesta Texas, Great Adventure, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, The Great Escape, Magic Mountain, Michigan's Adventure, Six Flags New England (renamed to Riverside Wonderland) Chain #2: Great Cedar Entertainment Co. Cedar Point, Darien Lake, Dorney Park, Frontier City, Great America (IL), Knott's Berry Farm, Schlitterbahn Galveston, Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, Splashtown (Houston), Worlds of Fun, Valleyfair Chain #3: Six Flags Entertainment Co. Six Flags Over Georgia, Six Flags Over St. Louis, Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Mexico, Six Flags Qiddiya City, Hurricane Harbor Phoenix, Six Flags White Water, Hurricane Harbor Oaxtepec, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, Hurricane Harbor Concord The Dreams: Crown Entertainment Co. would essentially be a rebirth for KECO, reshaping itself with ten thrilling theme parks to rival Busch Gardens and the Herschend parks. I tried to keep most of the KECO parks together since they've never been separated before. Most of the parks in this lineup also began as theme parks, so I figured a return to that would be good. Great Cedar Entertainment Co. would be a return to order for the old Cedar Fair (under a new name), this time with some different parks added to the mix. There are less "big" parks in this chain than were in Cedar Fair at its height, but it's largely similar to the pre-Paramount Cedar Fair. I think they could still manage to corner the high-thrill market with the right leadership. Six Flags Entertainment Co. (version 5) would take the lessons learned from its past to improve their chances of staying afloat. People would still get the Six Flags they knew with a new flair to keep things fresh. This iteration of Six Flags would get to keep the corporate park identity while hopefully getting better at actually running parks. It could remain the "budget" option.
