robintodd
Looks like a twist on an escape room. I can see the reason for the upcharge, otherwise the lines would be ridiculous.

BryanJay
Still 50/50 on if this is Crypt building or Blackout spot. There’s a new maze coming alongside this, and The Crypt has a longer queue considering this seems to have limited capacity (likely working on a reservation system). But it’s also unclear if they would want more space to allow for more capacity in the escape room, which the Crypt building would give them.
IndyGuy4KI
Don't Waste Your Money article that references KIC. https://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/kings-island-is-adding-a-new-halloween-haunt-attraction-but-youll-have-to-pay-more Thanks John M.
BryanJay
Images taken from the KI pass holders Facebook page, but now I’m confident that the Conjuring experience will go in the Blackout/Club Blood building and a new maze is currently being constructed in the Crypt/Tomb Raider building. (Which also not to go into speculation mode, but I think most of the leftover Crypt theming will be incorporated into this maze, which is a great outcome for me if there’s not a new attraction going into this space)

This also mentions that Conjuring will be an upcharge of 7 - 10 dollars also that "Other Haunt attractions should continue to be free with park admission". Almost makes me think they may add 2 upcharge indoor mazes, giving the pricing option of $7 for one or $10 for both. Details should be available accroding to the article August 11th. Once again it seems some have jumped the gun on what will happen at Haunt without waiting for the information. So much hubub about "charging for indoor attractions" may have been premature. Just like early in the year some speculated about hours being cut from Haunt when in fact they added Thursdays. (Some may be outragged that yet again they did a swicheroo after people bought their season pass and ADDED hours without letting everyone know when they bought their pass.... oh wait, this is a BENEFIT, not something taken away, so no credit should be given). Seems as though they are just adding an upchrage attraction (like they did with eXtreme Flyer. Remember all the outraged when they added that upcharge attraction? Neither do I.). I think this is a wise decision to "test the waters". I still maintain that this will be some type of an escape room experience taking 5-10 minutes to go through with the suggestions of puzzles to solve. Unfortuntely we may still have to put up with parents carting their small children through indoor mazes (isn't that some sort of fire-code violation?).

May I mentioned that this is not the only time Cedar Fair now Six Flags uses upcharge haunt mazes, Besides it sounds like The Conjuring maze in the Blackout building is going to be like Trapped from Knott's (Via logo) What Trapped is and what the Conjuring will be is that once you buy tickets online or rarely in-person, you must signed a waiver before entering. In Trapped and theoretically Conjuring, All rules that Haunters follow are no longer apply here, Scare Actor can really get up close to you, touch and drag your forcefully, force you to eat gross things, blast your ears with loud noises and a lot and lots of swearing that it's the reason why you must pay and signed a waiver before entering. I'm serious, this maze will be extreme to the max.

Fridays for Haunt were just cut in September for Valleyfair and Worlds of Fun. Michigan’s Adventure had its entire fall season cut. Several legacy Six Flags parks just had their holiday event cut. While Kings Island added Thursdays in October, other parks lost days or entire events. There’s a trade off for adding those Haunt nights. They didn’t add without taking something away.

I'm of the mindset that they took away from other parks to add to a park with a better attendance and season pass base. With the addition of an upcharge maze (mazes?) it would seem counter productive to cut hours that could bring profit. This is an answer to those that were becoming critical of how tame the haunts had become.

Will cuts be made elsewhere at a park with higher attendance? Stay tuned! Addition by subtraction.

With these outrageously good deals for 2026 passes makes we wander about all the cuts that’s gonna happen whether it be this year or next. Being that Kings Island is one of the major parks in the chain I believe they will cut things more drastically at other parks before cutting things drastically here but it’s coming whether it it a ride removal or rides. Or slight hour cuts. other note I’m still confused on where this new haunt is going. I assume it would be tomb raider building with the evidence of work going on but what about backlot building and what about the 2026 attraction lol time will tell …. Losantiville Mining Co.
I have a feeling that if more rides are closed for Haunt it will be a more sudden decision. So much effort seems to have been put into changing things up this year that we'll have to see what happens during the first couple of weekends. Cutting restaurant and shop operations would be an weird move to me (simply because of how the weekend operations have worked so far this year). I'd think having Planet/Camp Snoopy closed would help direct some operations to the rest of the park, but if Six Flags gets more and more desperate then who knows what could be suddenly cut from the lineup. 23 hours ago, Cedar Fair Fanboy said: What Trapped is and what the Conjuring will be is that once you buy tickets online or rarely in-person, you must signed a waiver before entering. I'm serious, this maze will be extreme to the max. Using the Trapped: Lock & Key model would definitely be a crazy addition to Haunt. The escape/torture room aspect might work out for the horror thrill-seekers, but there would need to be a clear line drawn in terms of who is allowed in the attraction. If it's as intense as this then there should be no strollers and no children allowed. Even if it is not as intense, I still don't think children should be allowed in, but I've aired my grievances with the children at Haunt topic. As much as I hate to say it, I'd rather see some operations cut from Winterfest instead of being cut from Haunt. There's not really even a guarantee from the park that — aside from the two new attractions — we'll see the other five mazes or the three shows return. Kings Island already needs more for guests to do during Halloween Haunt to spread out the crowds, so cutting more Halloween attractions from the lineup will only add misery (the non-Halloween fun kind) to the event. August 11th will be an interesting day for certain.
Old_Bearcat
The new maze (and newly built queue) is going in Action Zone (Blackout Building), the Conjuring is going into the Crypt Building https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt#mazes

Losantiville Mining Co.
If a parent is willing to spend $20+/kid just to potentially traumatize their kids for the night then I'll just look down on them more. The park can say that No-Boo Necklaces do not work inside of the mazes, but if someone is willing to spend $40+ total/person just to ruin the experience then I'll have to assume they don't care about their money. People already complain about how "expensive" Kings Island is to visit, I think this will be a good experiment to see how much guests are willing to put up with while doing upcharge attractions.
robintodd
2 hours ago, disco2000 said: What if they still allow strollers and no boo necklaces and the same experiences that were free last year? Simply put, don't allow strollers/wagons or anyone with a no boo necklace (or have them turn it off) since they don't work in mazes anyway. As far as the strollers/wagons go maybe one call to the fire marshal would solve it.
