MaestroJr Posted Tuesday at 04:21 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:21 AM I think they definitely should bring the bust back that’s a haunted mansion classic staple that works great for Disney and Kings Island in its effect and it’s a cheap effect too 3 Quote
MaestroJr Posted Tuesday at 05:01 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:01 AM Potential major spoiler ahead turn back if not wanted , credit Daniel Holtgrefe Facebook page Spoiler Looks like the original busts have been removed and we will definitely have 6 new busts or portraits perhaps, maybe with following eyes 2 Quote

I’m trying to figure out if- in theory- you could raise the floor in the show que and have it level with the 2003 entrance and the hallway. I can’t remember if there are energy exits at ground level or not- so much was changed between PT and SD. It could be done with only a shallow ramp, however raising the floor 3-4' would affect the viability and view of the "balcony". There are three doors on the ground floor of the queue room with two being emergency exits (one leading toward the Enchanted Theater and the other leading to the left of the entrance facade) and the third being a balcony access door in the opposite corner from the entrance. 3 hours ago, kingsislandfan1972 said: The new que area looks AMAZING, I'm glad they went with the new wallpaper. I loved the original PT wallpaper but after so many years it started to look outdated and even at times it started to peel back from the wall. It looks like KI is putting a lot of thought in this me being a big fan of the original ride... it looks like more thought is being put into this ride than the original PT. 😊 I'm a little hesitant with it right now due to these photos, though I do recognize the fact that this is unfinished and with all of the overhead lights on. What kind of flooring do you think they will go for? More laminate/linoleum like before or something else? It feels wrong to just leave it at the concrete. I have to wonder how long that post will stay up and if the park will request it be taken down. How often do we see an on-site contractor posting content like this? Spoiler The new Snack Bar set for No Legs Larry looks so much better than I thought it would based on how the electrical plans made it look. I'm glad it's also at floor level and not another platform. The counter did worry me at first since it looked like a platform, but then I realized it is just a register counter. I'd love to find out what the object on the right side of it says. It looks like it could be a soda fountain and possibly says "CANON". The Larry animatronic looks a little weird but I think he's got his face and hands covered to protect them. It's nice to see that the chandelier also appears to have been refurbished. Now if only we could see another Maestro's balcony also appears to have received some new details as well. That set of doors in the second indoor photo looks ready to be installed somewhere with its cap sitting on the floor to the left. I hope it all doesn't look too gaudy. The bright purple paint and wallpaper are making me worried about where this design will sit on the line between simulated elegance and Dr. Seuss. The original had (dilapidated) simulated elegance. That paint as it currently shows reminds me of a scene with purple goo from Cat in the Hat. Looking through that user's page, he also posted two videos that showed the hallway and (as I have now seen while writing this post) the holes from the busts have been covered up and screens with frames have taken their place. 2 hours ago, SonofBaconator said: They might bring the following busts back. IIRC, there were 4 originally (I thought 6 in the original ride’s concept art). The electrical plans show fixtures for six screens in the queue hallway (one to replace each bust). I'd love it if the busts could return, but unless something changes it seems unlikely at this point. I didn't see any connections for queue line FunTVs, but there is still a spot on the other side of the room for one. 2 Quote

My hope is a glow in the dark carpet type flooring with a cool pattern kinda like what's in Haunted Hotel at Funtown Splashtown USA which is another fairly recent Sally installation. Quote

Like notice the frame that doesn't have glass in it. There is clearly no hole in the wall anymore where the bust would be... I'm curious if the busts will be incorporated somewhere else in the ride or que if they are indeed doing screens in the hallway 3 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:29 PM I personally am digging the purple wallpaper. I get the sentiment shared here that the old version of the ride had a dilapidated elegance to it that the new one probably won't have. Is the new one a little more cartoonish? Yes. But I'm approaching it as a new version a new ride entirely not trying to replicate the old one. To me this is a restoration of the theater and won't have that same dilapidated haunted feel. It will pull the nostalgia of the original characters into a more "fun" reopening of the theater that has been fixed up for an opening night performance and isn't sitting in ruin anymore 5 Quote
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted Tuesday at 04:19 PM Author Posted Tuesday at 04:19 PM I think the facebook post got taken down...not shocked lol. Quote
beastfan11 Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:11 PM Curious as to what this new show element will involve? Maybe some type of Pepper’s Ghost element similar to the Hitchhiking Ghosts at the end of Disney’s Haunted Mansion? Thinking the reused BBoBH pieces will be the swingling chandeliers and turntable. Looks like we got a glimpse of what was leaked yesterday as well. 1 Quote

BryanJay Posted Tuesday at 06:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:52 PM After reflecting on it, it's most definitely the moving bust they're referring to and they'll be placed somewhere on the ride as the one prop from the original that returns. Spoiler Also for Boo Blasters: The Chandeliers and knight figure are returning. I wonder if there's anymore easter eggs outside of that. Also since the ride cars have continued to be called enchanted opera boxes, for sure they'll call the adventure an "Enchanted Voyage" in the queue, there's no way that doesn't make it in there. 4 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted Tuesday at 09:14 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:14 PM I'm curious what this big surprise sequence is in the ride where we're being watched? 1 Quote

The gargoyle in the third photo would go in the Prop Room (scene 23) which was between the Cold Storage and the first set of skeletons. The last screenshot clearly says it's Scene 6, which is where the tree before the graveyard was. It would be really cool if the "window" into the theater had a Hitchhiking Ghosts effect, but I don't know how that would work within the story since you're supposed to be looking into the theater. As for what may be returning from Boo Blasters, I don't think they'd consider the moving busts to have been a part of that ride. I really would like for them to make a return elsewhere in the ride since their place in the hallway has been taken by screens, but there could be a good spot for them to go elsewhere in the building. 1 Quote
