I think it would be hilariously ironic if they put those directly on the ride after shipping them down there. Honestly the black frame with the red,. orange,. and yellow pods would probably look sharp

From a thrill rides standpoint- the RMC makes the most sense. Even though KD has Twisted Timbers, what BGW is “proposing” is completely different enough to not rally draw any comparisons. A giga on the other hand doesn’t seem needed right now. Even though it would be a completely different experience from Pantherian, I think people would be quick to draw comparisons. I honestly think Tampa would get a giga first and is arguably more deserving of one: Florida’s tallest/fastest/longest coaster is extremely marketable in a state with so many large parks. -
I'm wondering if they're going to be used for spare parts or if they're actually going on the ride.

For sure. Yes I visited in 2023 and twice in 2025 and the park just left much to be desired on the operations side of things. I also don't love that they ripped out scorpion and the log flume because those were some of the rides you didn't have to wait an hour to get on. Williamsburg has the stronger flat ride lineup as well. Glad your experience was better than mine though and it's true that worse rides but better guest experience equals better time -

Shade and Beauty Add to the Bottom Line
Losantiville Mining Co. replied to KI Guy's topic in Kings Island
Nice upkeep of foliage, trees, tables, trash cans, and paint all help guests feel so much better in a park. What's sad here is that — just as Matt Ouimet said — not enough industry professionals seem to understand that fact. Some things can't be immediately helped, but change can happen over the course of a few years. Something Kings Island really needs is a renewed interest in trees and foliage. Little displays like the floral calendar, carousel horse, and season-marking Eiffel Tower display (behind the Grand Carousel sign) are really nice. On the other hand the Floral Clock has been broken for a while, the Eiffel Tower topiary often looks like a... well a... poorly kept topiary. The park could also place some non-foliage-based displays if they don't want to put strain on the gardening teams. If I had to choose three areas of Kings Island to plant more trees, it would be Camp Snoopy, specifically near Franklin's Flyers Rivertown, specifically near Diamondback's entrance and near the path at the area formerly known as Swan Lake Vortex's plot (this one is very specifically foliage that a new coaster would go around and/or that would compliment a new coaster) Action Zone is somewhere on this list, but I would tie any new trees and foliage there directly into a larger area redevelopment rather than somewhere as a quick fix. I'm sure there's a worry about obstructing some sightlines and getting trees too close to coaster tracks as well. -
Had the opportunity to meet him in 2014 and have always had a great impression of him. Can agree that he's a great LinkedIn follow.

He’s a great LinkedIn follow for those brave enough to use it.

I'm still hoping that Wild One can be saved — even if it's as a complete rebuild like the Zippin Pippin had after Libertyland closed. This also has me wondering if Six Flags will clear the site of everything they can before the ownership transfers (move all of the the operable rides and sell the rest for scrap) or include some rides in the sale and let 35V and TPA Group deal with scrapping/reopening them.

Maybe I just got a more lucky experience at BGT than you. I haven't visited since 2022 so it's been a while, but when I was there Iron Gwazi was running 2 trains (albeit at a slower pace) but the line never got over 45 minutes. But recently I have heard more stories of bad experiences at BGT so maybe 2021-2022 was a good year for them and they just fell off. If everything that happened to you happened to me though, I might be more inclined to pick the better park experience in BGW. Just goes to show that guest experience is mostly more important than the ride itself. People will come to the parks and enjoy the rides, but not if they aren't open or if they have a bad experience. -
From the KI History Facebook group. Figured it was worth a share. From the Smurf’s Enchanted Voyage:

I saw a tweet that claimed [almost] nobody from the Cincinnati area has been invited to the Media Day preview: is that true? I'm not going to put much stock into it, but I've also only seen a few content creators with the invitation boxes — none of whom live in the tri-state area. The first person I saw with one was Marcus LeShock, the newscaster from Chicago; then I saw Kerney-cation, who live in Cleveland; and then I saw Jonny Amusements, who lives in the Sevierville area near Dollywood. Would it be normal to send one of these packages to local news agencies? It's been so long since they've done this and I can't remember what happened with the Mystic Timbers packages.

There's actually been some speculation on this matter and a few people have reached that same conclusion. More specifically, that's one of the reasons why folks like the hosts of GreenTagged (on YouTube) think Marilyn Spiegel was ousted from her Chairman of the Board position. It's thought that JANA Partners published their letter calling for more change because they saw certain board members that were holding the company down and were acting as a roadblock for John Reilly and his ambitious plans for Six Flags. Even if this decision was somehow too sudden for a social media post, what's the reasoning behind not putting anything else out besides a comment to the local news? Better late than never applies here too.

Yeah I thought I'd heard the part came in during the season and they just waited till the off season to do anything. Didn't the monster also have a season around 2016 where it was gone temporarily and then came back? I know shake rattle and roll definitely disappeared for a season
-
They had the part they needed last year and chose not to operate it.
-
It's got the arms on it now! That's a good sign... I'm still waiting for the multi color pods from the CP one to show up on it. Kinda interested if there will be any paint color changes to the ride and if they will go all out and fix the lights too

Look I agree that the employee should not have taken that photo and posted it. In my years working at KI, when we would go in for on ride training, we would be told we can't take pics of new stuff/construction that hadn't been publicly shared by the park. I especially remember training day 2023 as the rides I worked were near Adventure Port and we were told if we got caught taking pictures of the construction we would get in serious trouble. At the same time, it's not that hard to make a simple announcement saying that "the decision has been made to retire this ride" before anything gets out by unauthorized people. It's also not hard if they know in advance a ride is going to close to announce it and let people get their last ride. Even if it is a ride with low ridership, it is still someone's favorite ride. I thought this would change with the new CEO, but I wonder if it is those on the board of directors who don't want to publicly announce these things.
-
It doesn't seem unreasonable to share information with the public before, as, or shortly after it's decided. It's not like these decisions come lightly or too fast for an Instagram post.
-
He’s right.

This is for all you who say that anything that can't easily be tied back to the bottom line is wasted effort and money. Mr. Ouimet explains that shade and beauty add to bottom line: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/matt-ouimet-42387521b_when-i-was-on-the-cedar-fair-team-we-routinely-share-7446895894349836288-gdUZ?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_android&rcm=ACoAABMEnvEBukWk_4JZ4j5b8tmanp0ZAE6r0KA
-
Sure, but not sure how they're supposed to get in front of an unauthorized photo that was taken and posted in violation of their agreement with vendors? Are they supposed to prepare a media package before moving forward with the actual ride removal?
-
But once again. they weren’t in front of it and were reactive instead of proactive.
-
The picture seems to have been unauthorized, so it's possible they had planned to announce it at a time of their choosing, but were forced to respond to an earlier than expected press request. Also pretty stupid of whoever took that photo to not be more careful. It won't be difficult for the park to figure out who took it, considering you can see the side of their vehicle in the photo...
