  1. Weather permitting I'll be riding it when I visit next month - I typically spend the day at Coney on my birthday and plan to do so again this year as well. Looking forward to seeing all the changes.
  2. Here's a photo of the damage from the European Coaster Club via GOCC:
  3. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/breaking-europark-fire-massive-blaze-12602519 According to the Facebook page Cupcakes and Coasters, Michael Mack has confirmed that there are no injuries, but the Pirates attraction and the Norway section have been completely destroyed. https://www.facebook.com/cupcakesandcoasters/posts/2166298656935981
  4. Sounds good to me! Maybe we can try to take over a coaster train or two as well. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  5. For future reference, you can go to the Google Maps website and get directions that take into account when you're planning to leave or want to arrive at your destination - that will give you the typical travel times for the date/time you chose and, if you choose when you want to arrive, recommend when you need to leave in order to get to your destination on time.
  6. I don't need any more shirts but this will be a nice addition to my collection of KIC tees (I have the previous one that was offered as well as the two from 2009) Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
  7. They may have. I was only over that way for a short time and it was dark by then. On an unrelated note, somehow my pass got renewed as a junior/senior pass instead of a regular pass. Had to go to the sales window and pay $59 to get that fixed, and I have to go to Guest Services tomorrow to get my dining plan straightened out.
  8. I didn't see much of the park tonight, having spent most of my time in Planet Snoopy, but I did notice a few other things not mentioned here so far: Tower Gardens is no longer a designated smoking area The Coca-Cola building in Coney Mall has been renovated - there's more room inside now and there are 6 Freestyle machines instead of 4 Several other general improvements in Coney Mall - a few new planters and seating areas along the midway
  9. Didn't Timberwolf initially have a separate entrance from outside the park allowing you to attend concerts there without requiring park admission?
  10. Ah. Depending on your definition of a hit, there's always "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls (#48 in 1982).
  11. Did someone say bad songs from the 80s? I leave you with this.
  12. I agree that Waldameer is a great park. That's the 2nd PA park I ever visited (the first being New Conneaut Lake Park). Maybe I'll get Lakemont in next year if they reopen like they plan (if I go back to PA that is - tentative plans for next year have me going to SFStL, SDC and WOF instead of hitting Pennsylvania).
  13. Part of the water park has reopened: http://www.cleveland19.com/story/37710253/part-of-kalahari-resorts-water-park-reopens-day-after-ductwork-falls-injures-5-people
  14. According to the USGS the river is currently at 55.05 feet. More rain on the way for a bit tomorrow (Thursday), but nothing like what we had last week. Still going to be a few days before we drop below flood stage probably.
  15. Sounds like a great idea. Cedar Point needs workers and college students need employment. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  16. Stinger is the only coaster at Dorney that I didn't ride last year since it's essentially an Invertigo clone. Interestingly enough, it's also not too far from Dorney's Dinosaurs Alive...
  17. KI is the park that was home to the oldest Capriro Batflyer which is no longer in operation. There is one that opened in 1997 that's still in operation according to RCDB. KI's opened in 1998. All of the others which are no longer in operation all opened around 2000 or later.
  18. I worked at the park for a few months in 2005 in the "East Pie" section of what was then Hanna Barbera Land (what ended up being the last year for HB). This included Beastie, the kiddie cars (now Peanuts 500), kiddie whip (Linus' Beetle Bugs), umbrella ride (Peanuts Off Road Rally) and helicopters (Woodstock's Whirlybirds), though at the time the kiddy whip and umbrella ride were in different spots than they are now (umbrella ride was located closer to the helicopters and kiddie whip was located in a back corner near what's now the entrance to Surf Dog). It was a lot of fun seeing the joy on the kids' faces, but it was also a bit frustrating at times (particularly Beastie, because they had raised the minimum height that year and they didn't have the height check station in the kids' area then so it was more common for kids to get measured and get a wristband at one of the rides).
  19. At the Cincinnati Zoo, nearly all of their main parking lot has been that way for years.
  20. I'm going to wait to purchase my ticket until I'm sure I can get that Saturday off work. I don't want to come just for half of Sunday. We're so short handed at work right now that I may not be able to get Saturdays off for a while.
  21. I forgot about it letting you in at 4:30. In that case I'll probably just stick with the current ticket. I can go drive around a bit to kill time if I need to.
  22. Since I won't be waiting on anyone else this year (sister and brother-in-law are expecting a baby in late May so they're not coming this year), I may see if I can upgrade my ticket to a full day ticket for Friday. I should be able to get out of here by noon, which would give me a few hours of free time before the events kick off, even if I stop at The Overlook Restaurant for lunch again like I did a couple years ago.
  23. I'll be there as well. I'm staying at the Red Roof Inn right off I-64 and am doing the regular Friday ticket. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  24. Como Cruisers wasn't all that exciting anyway. If I want to ride around on the lake I'll take a paddle boat or canoe (though I realize those options may not work very well for families). I do miss the old bumper boats but understand why they were retired.
  25. I had a blast at WinterFest across my half dozen visits or so. I ended up visiting far more than I had originally anticipated due to my work schedule changing, and was able to see all but one of the shows (I didn't catch the Peanuts one in Charlie Brown's Christmas Town). Looking forward to next year.
