    • Now we're creating threads about things all new rides go through? It ran perfectly the day I went, though I heard there was an evac on the tilt the day after, but I'm sure they got it back up and running.  It's not like its closing for long periods of time when it does evac.  Heck, MF and Raptor were down longer than Siren the day I went and no one batted and eye at that.  It just looks worse from an optical on Siren because it's been on a section of track that ends.
    • We all knew that Siren's Curse would have issues with it's tilt from the beginning. It's just a matter of how LONG these issues last. That's where TT2 was deemed problematic-when it shut down for nearly a year. But I'm not worried about Siren's Curse. I'm hoping to head up there next Monday!
    • The reason I like Iron Gwazi better than SteVe is because of its pacing. Steel Vengeance is great, and it is so amazing until it hits the breaks, which the ride becomes good instead of amazing. It starts slowing down a bit, and the elements under the track seem a little repetitive. But Iron Gwazi has no mid-course, so it can tear through the layout like a freaking monster without stopping until hitting the brakes. That is why I like Iron Gwazi better. Now time to get back on topic!  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rip Ride Rocket as some of you may know closes on August 18. People have been speculating on what could replace RRR. Permits show and Intamin launch coaster of some kind, but the theme of the ride is unknown. Construction walls over in New York by the old Ghostbusters firehouse (just past Jimmy Fallon) have gone up, and some interesting signage has been posted on the wall by Universal. The first sign that is a reference to Ghostbusters that says they are "restoring Historic Engine 89 Firehouse". This sign was the first one and was for about a week or two. But then two more signs came up just a couple of days ago! The second one is a reference to Back to the Future. Finally the last one is a little unclear. There's a phone number posted on the sign and the area code 213 is LA. But what gives it away for me is the font and color of the writing. This sign definitely teases Fast and Furious.   So this is all fine, but what does it actually all mean? Universal teased 3 IP's, so which one will replace Rockit? Will there be multiple attractions in that Rockit plot? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Also work on the ground has already begun, and they have been working behind Rockit and just to the right of Hard Rock Cafe. What are your thoughts?
    • Very much agreed. The cuts will keep coming and terms and conditions will continue to be a scapegoat for bad decisions. The only thing that might actually decrease pass sales for Kings Island would be if the prices were raised toward where they need to be for a park of this caliber — or if operations completely crash (but let's not think about that). Companies like Herschend and United Parks & Resorts understand that these parks are expensive to run. Six Flags seems to keep ticket prices low not because they want to remain affordable, but because they fear what would happen if they charged anything closer to the standard rates set by the aforementioned companies. Unfortunately spending $175 - $200/year (only $20 - $50 more than current KI Gold Pass prices) on a Six Flags season pass isn't something many vocal guests are willing to do either.
    • As a massive lover of the Halloween season, I've been looking at new haunts to experience and ways to embrace the spooky spirits of the night. Now, I'd like to share it with all of you! Below you'll find a list of various haunted attractions in the Cincinnati area I've looked into. Since it's July there is still some time before ticket prices and event offerings are finalized and released, but the initial information is still visible online for all to see. Feel free to add more to the list!  Area 13 Project at Nike Missile Base  |  Oxford, OH  |  https://area13project.com/?utm_source=OhioHauntedHouses.com&utm_medium=website&utm_campaign=HauntedHouseMedia Select nights in September, October, and November  |  As low as $25 Enter a historic former Nike Missile Base and find out what lurks in the outer hills of rural Oxford.  "You are summoned to the depths of the Oxford Hills, where the shadows of the past lurk in the darkness. The abandoned Nike Missile Base, a relic of a bygone era, beckons to you with its eerie silence."   Brimstone Haunt  |  Wilmington, OH  |  https://www.brimstonehaunt.com/ Select nights September 12 - November 1, 2025  |  $ Ticket Prices TBA  "Nestled on Renaissance Park grounds off State Route 73 between Wilmington and Waynesville, Brimstone Haunt rose from the ashes of the much-loved Springboro Haunted Hayride (1987-2016). Opening in the fall of 2017, it introduced a trio of spine-chilling experiences: the Brimstone Haunted Hayride, Forgotten Forest (now “The Bog”), and soon after, Psychosis. The haunt's rural setting adds to the atmosphere with real 1800s graves, unmarked burial mounds, and the eerie nearness of Caesar Creek State Park (a town of New Burlington now submerged by its reservoir) woven into its backstory. The property's haunting legends are thoughtfully echoed in scenes throughout."   The Dent Schoolhouse  |  Cincinnati, OH  |  https://dentschoolhouse.com/ Select Nights September 12 - November 2, 2025  |  $ Ticket Prices TBA Enter the Dent Schoolhouse, a seasonal haunt attraction based in Cincinnati, Ohio that is often highly rated as one of the best haunted attractions in the area.  "The old schoolhouse is now said to be haunted with the roaming spirits of the children that were “taken care of” by the Janitor.  Rumors are that the Janitor came back after several years of the school house being closed.  His body was never found, but his spirit is still said to clean the old building.  The spirit is also said to have “taken care of” local trespassers that try to sneak a peak at his home in the basement."   Halloween Haunt at Kings Island  |  Mason, OH  |  https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt Select Nights September 19 - November 1, 2025  |  $ Ticket Prices TBA  Halloween Haunt returns to Kings Island for 2025!  "Halloween Haunt is the most immersive and haunting Halloween attraction in Greater Cincinnati, with a combination of unimaginable scares, chills and thrills that can’t be found anywhere else. The fully transformed amusement park features bone-chilling scare mazes and scare zones, sinister live entertainment and hundreds of horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park waiting for you. Haunting Halloween activities plus some of the most exhilarating night rides in the country, including The Beast, Orion, Diamondback, Mystic Timbers and Banshee make this one of the best things to do for Halloween in the Cincinnati area."   The USS Nightmare  |  Newport, KY  |  https://www.ussnightmare.com/ Select nights in September, October, and November  |  As low as $25.00 Make your way through two decks of horrors as you embark on one of the area's longest haunted tours. Learn more about what awaits for those who choose to board the William S. Mitchell for this 30+ minute experience.  General admission ranges from $25 - $35, with additional opportunities like FastPass (as low as $38), Front of the Line (as low as $55), a Captain's Season Pass (just $100), the Captain's Extreme Tour ($30 - $70), and other RIP Experiences offered.   These are just some of the ones I've looked into recently. There are a ton of others to look at as well. One fun place to look for various haunted attractions around the state is on Ohio Haunted Attractions. They have information for all levels of Ohio haunts from home haunts to festivals and all the way up to Halloween Haunt at Kings Island and Cedar Point.
