I joined this website when I was 15 years old, at the time I was obsessed with the park - visiting the park was one of my favorite past times. It's still a place I love dearly, but I don't visit as often. The first event I ever went on through this website was an off-season construction tour of the Italian Job: Stunt Track. Since 2005, life has changed for me quite a bit and with it so has KICentral.com. I've had the opportunity to meet many great people through this site - many of whom became close personal friends, helped me professionally or are friends I don't get to see as often anymore. I have a lot of great memories because of KICentral. Even my roommate is a friend I made through this website. Even though it took him forever to purchase a bed and he lived off the couch in our living room for a month and a half, he's still one of my best friends in this world. By the way, Boddah1994 - the power bill came today and I texted you the price. Over the years, people grow up and priorities change. Life takes different paths. I'm not involved with this site as much as I used to be in the past. I went from filling the online galleries here to not posting at all for some time while I shot photographs for other pursuits. Other folks got "real" jobs, got married, moved or just lost interest. Regardless, KIC events were always a good time and meeting people from the forums, even those I often disagreed with, was always nice. Even though times have changed, I'm glad to see KIC users still get together and share their interest in the park and have a good time. I ran into a bunch of the "next generation" of members while briefly visiting the park this past weekend. It was a pleasure running into you guys. You were all very friendly and I hope you all had a nice visit to the park. Thanks for keeping the KICentral tradition alive and well!

it was a welcoming sight to see that sign come thru my section of the house i am in this year. of coarse i did my pop-out & scare on them then made a quick 5sec greet as who i was then went back into scarector mode.

Sorry I won’t have any photos in here, but the computer is driving me nuts, so I don’t have any. Anyways, me and my mom got to the entrance around 5:20 and saw Jonathan (jcgoble3) and a tall guy holding a KICentral Haunt Night Sign who I assumed was Malem (Matthew). A little bit later, Beastie1980 walked up to the group with her parents. Stashua123 then greeted us, also saying he was going to be with someone else for the night. A little later, Ronny (Gordan Bombay) asked if he could take a picture of the group for Ryan (Boddah), so we all got together + my non KIC Member mom, and het took a picture, which can now be seen in another topic. The other KICers decided they would do Wolf Pack at park opening, but I really didn’t think I was ready for Wolf Pack, and this is my first time at Haunt. I also wanted to get pictures from the Eiffel Tower of SOB demolition. The speakers started playing some creepy voiced guy talking, and I wasn’t starting to feel any better. The gates than opened up, and scaractors came running out. I made my way thru them to the entrance. Right when we got in, there was this loud explosion that really scared me. Really caught us all off guard. I then split up with the group to the Eiffel Tower, and we would meet with them again later. I made my way thru some tall scareactors and headed to the Eiffel Tower. Unfortunately, it was closed. SO, what other choice to than Diamondback? We made our way thru the foggy Freak Street, where I did not see any Scareactors. My mom stopped at the restroom, and I watched Jack scare teenagers. When she came back out, we headed over to Diamondback. Diamondback was a walk on, and a great ride. We didn’t get any texts, so we went on Diamondback again for another walk on. Another great ride. Still no texts back, so we headed to The Beast. The Beast was a walk on, and of course a great ride. There wasn’t any fog, though. We got a text back, mentioning going thru Wolf Pak and Club Blood. We also got a text from my dad, saying to meet him at the front gate. I met up with my dad around a bunch of scareactors and such. We ended up walking back to Flight Deck, through some scareactors, and Nightmare Alley and Grimm Blvd. We literally walked on to Flight Deck, and had a great ride. WE then headed over to Delirium, but only me and my mom rode, because my dad dosen’t do Delirium. It began sprinkling while we were in line. We took a ride in the drizzle, which was a lot of fun, after about a 5 minute wait. I decided for my first Haunt, I would try Tombstone Terror Tory when it opened at 8, so we headed over there. My dad was hungry, and saw they were selling Apple Pie at Rivertown Funnel Cakes, so he had to stop there to get some. We waited awhile for it, and he enjoyed it. We were able to meet Jonathan and Matthew in the train station, and waited a few minutes for the train. In the spoiler bar, I have a review on what I thought of Tombstone Terror Tory, which obviously contains spoilers. After Tombstone, my dad was starting to have enough with the rain, and he headed out. Me, Matthew, my mom, and Jonathan got in line for Diamondback. The line was backed up into the queue house, but the line moved really fast, and was probably only 5 minutes. Me and my mom rode a ride before Jonathan and Matthew, because of some line issue stuff. The rain made the ride a lot different, and that rain was just crashing on you. It was a fun, cold ride. When Jonathan and Matthew were done riding, we split up yet again, because they wanted to get some more mazes in, but I really didn’t want to do any more. Me and my mom headed over to The Beast for a rainy night ride. The line was just outside the entrance, but after about 5 minutes, the line still would not move, so we headed to do something else. We decided to do Backlot, which had a pretty short line, about 5 minutes. Backlot was a fun, rainy ride. At this point, I really didn’t see any scareactors anymore. Since it was cold and rainy, we headed over to Flight of Fear. There was a bit of a line outside, and it was about 35 minutes. I watched the movie inside, and enjoyed the heat and dryness while it lasted. It was a fun ride on Flight of Fear. We decided to get something to eat at Hanks, but it was just getting closed up for the night. We were able to meet Matthew and Jonathan in the Festhaus. I got some pizza and ate it in the festhaus. Matthew was getting texts from Coaster Fanatic 2012 and TTD-420-180, or the other way around. We decided to go meet them at Holiday Horror, but we never found them. We got a text back saying they went to Carnevil, but we waited and never was able to see them there either. My mom wanted to go thru Carnevil, but I didn’t, so Matthew took my mom into Carnevil and I waited outside in the rain with Jonathan. We never were able to locate them. By now, it was almost midnight, it was pouring, my shoes and feet were really wet, and it was just getting ugly. So, we decided to leave, and Matthew gave me the KICentral Haunt Night sign as a souvenir. Overall, I had a great first Haunt visit! A couple of notes: *Most of the rides, except for Eiffel Tower, seemed to be open. I’m surprised they were open into the rain. *Due to the rain, there really wasn’t any scareactors throughout the park in the night. *I spotted a raccoon in the festhaus! Thanks for reading!

They could make it like a Pumpkin Patch...just let people go out and pick the piece of wood or bolt that they like the best.

^ I don't think that is the case. In the pics of the plaques, there is a: "x" of "x" value. For KI to sell more than the initial amount offered would be, at best, unethical.

FOR STARTERS, if you guys are super sensitive about spoiler, maybe don't read this. Ill try to avoid any, but I'm sure someone will complain if i don't warn you. A few weeks ago I went to Haunt, mostly because my cuz's birthday is soon, and he'd never been to ki. I had never done a haunt maze, or seen creepers ( the only other time I've been to haunt was last year, and i got stuck w/ the midgets all night). The weather was good, it was crowded, but not super crowded. The fog was AMAZING (don't know why everyone was complaining), and it looked even cooler with the full moon. In the few hours I was there we saw tons of monsters, (again don't know why people were complaining), and the mazes had decently small lines. The rides on the other hand were terrifying. MAZES (we only stayed till ten so we only did 3) Holiday Horror: (6/10) This was my first maze EVER. While not necessarily scary, it was REALLY fun and creative. All I'm gonna say is Valentines day. CornStalkers: (7/10) Not much to ruin for you here. There is corn, and they stalk you. But some of the actors were really creative for what they had. One stalker ran right through the line, and it scared most of us pretty good. My cousin was trying to annoy one of the scarecrows, so I told my cousin that that scarecrow was gonna creep up on him as soon as we walked away. THEN HE CREPT UP ON ME. Anyway, really good maze for what they have to work with. Mysteria: (2/10) Dudes in spandex. Thats it. Even worse it was the longest wait in line out of the three we did. figures. Scare Zones: Freak Street: (7/10) Really good. One of the guys REALLY got us. They really went the extra mile in this, and the extra fog was really cool to. Grimm BLVD: (7/10) I didn't get what exactly was scary about it but it was a bit creepy. Blood Drums was great, and the scare actors. One creeper in a gas mask had a staring contest with my cousin. Their faces were about 2 inches apart, and it went for about a minute. It was pretty awesome. Nightmare Alley: (1/10) didn't know it was a scare zone until we left. whatever international street is: (???) We were there from 6-6:30, and at 10. I never see monsters there, but in videos there are always tons of them. Just not sure what to put. Overall really fun. Im going the 13th, and I'm planning on doing more now that i know what to expect. Expect more from me then.

Coaster with the most distinct smell: Adventure Express.(or at least the 2nd tunnel before the lift hill.)

Lets list this all out 1. Boomerang Bay returned (in my dreams) 2. New SOB II to the SOB remains, a steel version of the latter ride 3. Trail of Terror returned to the Haunt 4. BB1 would have completed his 2013 Coolangatta Racers 1000 (or more) rides in one season 5. Campgrounds returned 6. Kings Island buys land accross the river, and makes 2 new areas

A Camp ground will return to property, a winter extravaganza event will return due to the new village at KI that connects to great wolf, FRIDAYS, MRS KNOTTS east chicken N more will anchor, a new arcade. A new entrance will adorn KI 2 new coasters would have been added. 2nd kids land near Flight Deck was added as a Great Pumpkin type themed rides. Finally a 2nd dark ride will be added, and a reboot of boo hill to a Snoopy Holiday animatronic sensation type ride EASTER, CHRISTMAS, HALLOWEEN< SUMMER!

Thank you Gordon Bombay for posting this, it was nice to meet you last week. We had a really good time at the park that night. I've met fellow KICers three times and have really enjoyed each time. The first time was Coasting for Kids this year, the second time my family met up with IndyGuy at the park one day and then this time for Haunt. I truly feel I am making new friends here and that makes me happy. I look forward to meeting other members at the park next season.

Yay we can finnally see our group photo! Can anyone geuss who i am? It was nice meeting all yal and you to gordon bombay!

It's sun-block, asphalt, french fried potatoes, chlorine, cigarette smoke, and bee pollen.

I bet that all of the money they make goes straight to Cedar Fair, where it's then divvied up between the partnership's many, many, many expenditures across all of its parks.

Part of the value is the rarity of it. That's why there are numbers at the bottom of the plaque. To make more defeats the "limited edition" angle.

No doubt Kings Island is charging more money than they were manufactured for, but keep in mind they are making very little money off these items. At least, relatively speaking. I see this as a nice gesture put forth by the park, to give it's fans and lovers of all things Kings Island a memento of the world's tallest, fastest, only looping wooden roller coaster.

Since several people apparently want trip reports from last night, I'll go ahead and write one. My posts are usually much more concise, so I apologize in advance for the excess length of this one. (I'm sure ohiocolts will be posting a much better trip report shortly ) Several people from KICentral met up last night for the planned "KIC Haunt Night". I really didn't know what to expect, since prior to last night I had been to neither a theme park enthusiast meet-up nor any theme park Halloween event. Save for the weather and me not being dressed appropriately for it, it was a great experience. Before the night began, I met Jonathan (jcgoble3) at Outback Steakhouse near the park. I got there early, so I walked from there to behind Great Wolf Lodge for a few Son of Beast shots. Sadly, even though I had a decent camera with me all night, these were the only pictures I took. After dinner, I drove over to the park, did a final check of the forecast, and headed towards the front gate wearing shorts and a lightweight t-shirt - without my jacket. Even though I'm quite tolerant of temperature extremes, this was a big mistake. KI security was set up outside the entrance plaza inspecting items and using hand-held metal detectors to check each guest. At 5:10, this process was very quick and there were no lines. By 5:30, Jonathan, Lucas (ohiocolts), his mom, and myself were waiting at the front gate with a "KICentral" sign I had printed. Shortly thereafter, we were found by Melissa (Beastie1980), her parents, and Joshua (stashua123). We played phone tag with TheCrypt and Coasterfanatic2012 throughout the night, but we never managed to meet either of them. (Next time, hopefully!) Just before the park opened, Gordon Bombay found us and took our group picture. (Thanks!) The forecast was truly dreadful, with rain likely all night and a "definite" chance lasting from 10pm-3am, so I was glad that at least some people showed up! We got lucky on the rain front with only a few periods of heavy showers, but evening temperatures were at least 10°F lower than forecast. Combined with wind and rain, this turned out not to be pleasant at all without a jacket. Especially at 80mph. After the park opened, we waited for a few minutes near the fountains to catch anyone who missed us at the gate. Lucas decided that he wasn't ready for mazes yet, so the rest of us headed to Wolf Pack while he and his mom went to do some rides. Joshua separated from us to find us later, but unfortunately he never did. Melissa was scared of the Haunts, but she wanted to do Wolf Pack to be in Son of Beast's station before the coaster is completely gone. Jonathan, her, and myself headed there and did the maze with absolutely no wait. The actors were doing a great job, but we had to be one of the least fun groups to go through there all night. Jonathan went first, barely reacting to each "scare". After Jonathan got startled, Melissa cheerfully greeted each one with a "Hi!". I was last, apologizing to each actor for our lackluster reactions. Melissa enjoyed Wolf Pack, but she had enough scares for the evening. We briefly separated as Jonathan and I went to the nearby Slaughter House, where we got special greetings from XGatorHead and rotag. (Thanks! It was great to meet you, even extremely briefly!) We then went to Club Blood before rejoining Melissa for a ride on Invertigo. By this time, it was shortly after 7:00, so Jonathan and I decided to separate again to see Madam Fatale's Cavern of Terror. The line here was only about 10 minutes. There were some great props here, and it was interesting to be in the Crypt ride chamber, but the acting seemed a bit weaker than some of the others. By this time it was around 7:30 and starting to get dark. Lucas and his mom wanted to meet us for Tombstone Terrortory at 8:00, so we had time to meet up with Melissa again for a ride on The Beast. Since there was only a station wait and we had extra time, we waited for the front two rows to let it get darker. We rode just after dusk, but unfortunately it had just started raining. Temperatures weren't too bad yet, so I had a pleasant first-ever night ride on The Beast. Melissa wanted to head home after this, so her family left while Jonathan and I headed to Tombstone Terrortory to meet Lucas. His dad had joined them by this point, so the five of us boarded the train and did the maze with almost no wait. The train operator did a spiel beforehand, presumably explaining the storyline of the maze, but the audio was too jumbled to understand anything. There were some good "startles" here, and Lucas's mom had a few good scares (and screams). This Haunt provided enough scares for Lucas, so we headed to Diamondback for a night ride in light rain. By this point, I started to regret that I decided not to wear a jacket, as temperatures were falling much lower than had been forecast a few hours earlier. Jonathan wanted to do all the Haunts, so Lucas and his family separated while I joined Jonathan for mazes. We did Holiday Horror, Cornstalkers, Carnevil, and Boo Blasters. We were a bit tired and cold by this point, around 10:30pm, so we decided to meet Lucas and his family in the Festhaus. Jonathan and I caught up with them there after catching the end of "Graveyard Shift". We then decided to try to meet Coasterfanatic2012 in Planet Snoopy, but we missed them - as we would continue to do the next 2 times we tried. Lucas's dad parted ways at some point, and both Lucas and his mom were getting ready to call it a night. Lucas's mom wanted to do Carnevil, even though Lucas had had enough, so I accompanied her as Jonathan waited outside with Lucas. Jonathan and I then went through yet again, in a last attempt to find Coasterfanatic2012 and TTD-120-420. There were about two hours of park operation left at this point, and only Jonathan and myself were left. We rode Racer in the front seat (the train had been sitting there 5 minutes waiting for riders to show up), rode Flight of Fear 2 times with minimal/no wait, and went through a couple more mazes (Mysteria and Massacre Manor). By this time, there were absolutely no guests at the mazes, and several actors were out-of-character. We called it a night around 12:50am. Overall, I was much more impressed with the acting than I was with the props, although there are some very good props. If you go, definitely hit the haunted attractions early in the day, before the actors get tired after 7 hours on the job. Most of the actors did a great job and gave an entertaining performance. Again, I apologize for not being more 'fun' with respect to the scares, though I was in my 32nd hour of not having any sleep. (But that's another story.) Going to KI alone to meet people I had never seen before was a new experience. It was really enjoyable to meet some of the people behind the posts here, and I realized that there are people here that know a whole lot more about KI and theme parks than I do. Hopefully I'll get to go to such a meet-up again. Thanks for reading this excessively long account of our night. Hopefully those who couldn't come are able to attend the next meet-up!

Uh with weed you don't really smell it off of someones breath.... Not that I would know or anything..... **runs out of the room**

They do not frisk you and ask you to remove the contents from your pockets. Now if they had smelled it on your breath, they might want to have a closer look in their security office.

Sort of on that topic, a few weeks ago, after we came out of holiday horror, i saw two girls sharing a joint. How could they have gotten drugs into the park with all that security? It just kinda bothers me. I don't know why.

I wish my wife and I could have met up with everyone. We were running a bit behind schedule and didn't get there until right at 6. By the time we got to the gate everyone must have been inside. Couldn't have missed the group by more than 5 minutes. I have to say though, despite not getting to meet any of you it was a memorable night. Rode The Beast at around 11:30 or so, freezing cold, pouring rain, front seat. I've ridden my motorcycle in rain and hail on 45 degree days in the middle of a 1,000 mile trip and wasn't that cold and didn't get pelted in the face that hard. My wife and I were sore, cold, numb and miserable when we got off but it was a BLAST. We will both look back on that ride as long as our minds hold out and smile, I assure you. Our dear Sam gave me the best scare of the night as well. Just my wife and I going through the house around 12:00 or a bit after, head into Sam's room and much to my disappointment he "wasn't there". He was hiding back behind an oven (I think) right before you leave his room and he popped out right beside me with a bang of the door and a yell. (Guy in a black Harley hoodie and a mustache, girl in a black leather coat, shoulder length brown hair and glasses. Just the two of us walking through. Doubt you remember us, but if so, well, that was us.) It takes a lot to startle me, but that did. Well played, sir. Well played. In addition to my little moment with Sam one of the actors approached my wife and I with a green glow stick in hand and asks us if we want to know why it is green. He proceeds to thread it though his nasal septum piercing and proclaim "BOOGERS!". Yet another moment that will stick with me. Between that Beast ride, Sam, Mr. Boogers (for lack of any other name), and some good old fashioned borderline inappropriate banter with a couple actors on a two person trip through Club Blood (will spare the details, family friendly site after all ) it was a night to remember. It's going to take a lot to top that for our anniversary weekend trip at the end of the month, but I have faith my haunt experiences will just keep getting better this year!

Great TR, and it's good to read that you had fun despite the weather. Sam wanted me to thank you for carrying the KIC sign through Slaughter House, it made it very easy for him to spot you!

i love being a Haunt actor. Most the people that come take a scare and move on. Then you get the ones that think they know all about what you do and think they have to critic everything you do. You also have the people that threaten to hit. Most of the time if the actor walks up to these folks they will just run away or fall to the floor. I have more problems with the kids that dont really know better because there parent are telling them to do stupid stuff.

I have been a haunt actor for a few years now. While I was in a house I never really had to many issues with violence. Yes I was hit several time. I was head butted on multiple occasions. This year I am somewhere out in the park. I will not tell you where. It surprises me how disrespectful people can be. This year I have been grabbed, groped, poked, hit, and kicked. I have a few bruises to show for it. Then you see the stupid kids go back to there parents that are laughing right along with them. I love being a haunt actor. 99.5% of the people are great and take scares in stride. However that last .5% ruin everyone's night. I have seen many of my friend already this year walk away from the game because it got to be to much. I don't have to many problems defending myself, but it seems that the minor females have it really bad. To me that is really sad.

I would Love to be able to do that, even with the Scareactors within the Haunt so I could see the whole aspect of it, just without them coming at me. Last year, I went to Fall Freakout (the same trip that I went through Club Blood with Indyguy4KI), and as one of the Event perks we were given lights on tours of Cuthroat Cove and Eternity Infirmary. I REALLY enjoyed that, because I was able to really take my time and check out all of the work and effort put forth in the mazes, as well as kind of picture where would be good scare points for the Scareactors. The only time I got scared during those tours, was when Darlene accidentally set off a guillotine prop in Cuthroat Cove with me standing directly in front of it looking at it! LOL, Indyguy and I jumped about 3 feet in the air, as did Darlene because she didnt expect it to happen.

Slaughterhouse and Massacre Manor were at the top of their game last night! Each were very scary and all the scareactors were really into their roles. Slaughterhouse really got my adrenalin going, it truly is a well put together maze. I gave a high-five to Sam and shook Mama's "hand", when I went through and was scared by many others. Massacre Manor is extremely scary when the groups are properly spaced out and the actors are at the top of their games. Well done!

Note that on Friday all the outdoor attractions were shut down around 9PM. If this was the day that Wolf Like Me went, this may explain why they did not see any actors in some of the scare zones.

Some people are just ***ks and refuse to have fun like normal people and think it's hilarious to hurt us.

When I work the door at St. Ritas (OPEN THURS-SUNDAYS IN OCTOBER THURS AND SUN 7-10pm and FRI AND SAT 7-12am!!!!!) "I tell the people there are small spaces and small corners where an actor might bump into you by accident, I assure you they don't mean nothing by it. If they wanted to eat you they'd just go ahead and do it *pause of laughter*"

Sounds like it was a good time in bad weather.

This, is exactly why I do NOT go through Haunts. I wish I could, I really do, because I Love the work put into the layout, and the theatrics aspect of the makeup and outfits that the Scareactors put on. If I could experience the Haunts simply for that, Id jump at the chance. My problem is, my tactical and unarmed combat training I received in the Police Academy and on the Force doesnt lend well to people approaching me in an aggressive manner and getting within inches of me. While my rational mind KNOWS that the Scareactors cannot and will not touch me in any way, Im trained to engage in a takedown maneuver when I am approached in the way that Scareactors are trained to do. I have gone through ONE active Haunt... Club Blood at Cedar Point last year with Indyguy4KI... and I had to go through with my hands in my pockets and stay very close to him to avoid doing something I genuinely didnt want to do to people who were simply doing what they were supposed to do.

I think it is great that you all got together for a KIC Haunt night...it shows great spirit. Thanks for the report!
