I'll have to ride T3 to find out what it's like, I suppose. I'll ride any coaster once, no matter their reputation (assuming of course that their reputation doesn't involve frequent safety-related incidents). Including SLCs and Zamperla flyers. That said, there is currently only one coaster on my list of rides that I refuse to ever ride again, and Terp has explicitly stated that T2 was worse than that specific one... I really hope the new train(s) can help... I'm going to go into it cautiously optimistic that they will, to some extent. They should at least eliminate the headbanging, which is one of the many unenjoyable aspects of an SLC. And for a guy whose favorite coaster is Vortex to say that he had an issue with headbanging, that says a lot about these infernal contraptions... For what its worth, my list of rides that I refuse to ever ride again currently consists only of that one particular SLC, and all droppy rides that are not an S&S Space Shot.2 points

Kings Island Trip Report- 10/10 Tonight was a bit of a gamble. It was raining most of the day here in the Queen City, and with another cell on the way, it seemed iffy to me. However, the rain was light enough for my liking, and I really enjoyed visiting tonight, along with the company of malem, ohiocolts, and others. I'd even go so far as to call the rain cleansing. The biggest downer was that Banshee wasn't open until 3 hours into our visit, but boy did the wait pay off!. Lots of short lines and walk on rides this evening, a much needed release valve to the stresses of 4 straight weeks of band performances and school at UC. Beast and Racer in particular ran superbly tonight. I do have to note the lack of scareactors tonight though. Even I-Street had few of them, and the ones there didn't really do all that much from what I saw. I guess they were anticipating the lackluster crowds. Going next week as well in hopes of slightly better weather, plus I gotta end my season with my last Beast night ride in the front seat.2 points

I always thought Adventure Express was themed after Indiana Jones since they played the Indiana Jones theme in the queue area, I guess it was just coincidence with the ride being built the year before Paramount took over. "The more you know"2 points

An hour for Invertigo sounds like a normal saturday. Our usual saturday haunt routine is to ride only a few rides and check out all of the mazes. Then go back sunday to hit all the rides.1 point

Its busy we just waited an hour for Invertigo. Banshee almost has a full que. But u know u can still have fun at a busy park.1 point

Haunt Saturday. Columbus Day weekend. Nice weather. The park is probably very crowded.1 point

New here but long time ki season pass holder. Any idea on crowd size so far today?1 point

"Safety is our number one concern.". And yet Fright Fest continues, albeit with supposedly increased security. The fact that this happened in the first place means that several people clearly didn't take security at the park seriously.1 point

Anyone see the pic Kings Island put up on their Facebook page on the 9th? Its a nice pic of the Sky Ride.1 point

[quote name="The Interpreter" post="650849" (Watch what they do, not what they say...) I completely disagree. "Ride Sally Ride" had nothing to do with park fans thinking Diamondback would be called "Mustang." I also believe that no decision was made on Son of Beast until the park said that it had made one. Oh, and the backwards Racer was turned around because they WANTED to return it to its original form.1 point

Oh, there were plenty! I meant that we were only two non-scareactors in the house. .1 point

And Phantom Theater had nothing to do with Phantom of the Opera. I know because Carl Lindner told me so. Such a man of high integrity and the utmost ethics he was. (Watch what they do, not what they say...)1 point

Yeah, on FunTV it said ride wait times were 0 minutes! In fact, Malem and I were the only two people in Slaughter House when we went to visit Sam earlier in the evening.1 point

Exactly at the moment I read the words "puff air into people's faces", I felt a light puff of air hit me in my right eye. There is nothing near my computer that could have created that puff. Creepy.1 point

If anyone is interested in doing this and is just lurking right now, I'd sign up for a KIC username (it's quick, easy, and FREE!) now. It's going to be required to attend. Don't wait until it's too late!1 point

I doubt it, too. In fact she would probably be upset to be in the same twitter feed a few images away from THAT.1 point

I figured that, too, right at first... But it's been there 6 days. The fact that it even exists shows the difference between Dan and Will for me.1 point

At various times, the old Odyssey restaurant btwn FW and WS at Epcot showcased artifacts from former attractions. It served as an Annual Pass processing center as well during the Food and Wine festival. Lord knows the Wonders of Life building has sat dormant for years now, aside from the occasional corporate gathering or Disney backstage tour rendezvous point so it's available as well. While an interesting concept, I don't see Disney constructing a separate building on property somewhere for a museum. They'd incorporate it into the parks.1 point

It still puzzles me why Adventure Express was never turned into an Indiana Jones when Paramount owned the park, it's what we all think It should of been.1 point

If KI is doing something more tame for 2015 something similar to Dollywood's Adventure Mountain would be nice. It was a ropes course that had different levels of difficulty and would be a nice family addition to Rivertown. Dollywood did mysteriously remove the attraction only after a couple of years although it seemed real popular so I am not sure why they removed it. If anyone knows the real story for its removal I am curious to know.1 point

For starters, I love amusement parks. I love coasters, rides, people watching, feel of an amusement park. Also, I am one who counts coasters and will ride coasters just for a coaster credit. Yep, I am that kinda girl. I have never genuinely feared for my safety at an amusement park until going to SFA. This includes a decade of being a season pass holder at Kentucky Kingdom. The main issue I had with KK is the amount of unsupervised youth running around the park. They were unruly and loud, but I was not fearing for my life. It was just annoying, but having lived in the inner-city of Indianapolis, it takes a lot to worry me too much with fearing people most of the time. The best example at SFA is a group of 3 people (2 males and a female) walked from the back of the line to the front, forcing people out of their way. Their presence alone brought silence into the station. My angel of a daughter started to loudly protest them cutting in line and I received looks of "shut your daughter up." I gathered by the whispers these people are known and no one messes with them. I told my little angel to shut up, it is our goal today to leave this park alive, not getting shot up or sliced up. I was not joking. I truly had concerns about something happening while we were there. The crowd is rough as are the employees. We left the park not riding all the coasters. I don't know if I could bring myself to return to the park even though there are coasters there that I really enjoyed like Wild One and Roar.1 point

Gate admission is more than $25. Parking is $20 online. Neither is part of the problem. A season pass can be as little as $49.99. Thugs? Hoodlums, hoods, roughnecks, gang members. Choose your own nominative. It's not so much a race problem (though racism and many whites' fears and prejudices don't help) as it is a class problem. And before someone says, "You live in DC and have been once and are part of the problem " know that I've been dozens of times in the past: A. It seems to have worsened as the Six Flags season pass price has declined in real dollars. B. I don't have as much park time as I once did. C. It takes little more time to be nearly half way to Dorney, Knoebels or Great Adventure than it does to get to Six Flags America for me.1 point
-
There's a wonderful social experiment going on in that thread. People are saying that the park is riddled with "thugs" while others are subtly implying that the ones saying "thugs" are racist even though no one has made any indication of race. I've never been to SFA and probably never plan to go, but I'm willing to say that the "thug" comments are right. But then again, in today's world (at least to me) a "thug" is someone who presents themselves in a certain way and acts inappropriately in public. Not necessarily a person of any particular race.1 point

Kings Island is not located in an area that's, to be VERY polite, sketchy. It has a reputation as a very safe park. Neither of these things is true of Six Flags America. Parents who care even a little about their kid would never, ever drop their minor kid off at that park. And at night? Are you kidding me? I know several parents who talked their kids out of working there this week. Make no mistake about it. This brawl has hurt both SFA and Six Flags in general.1 point
-
You've apparently not been to SFA. I'd not take a 15 year old to Fright Fest there. I'd not go myself. In fact, I haven't. And won't. The better advice is in that article. Get out of THAT park before dark. There's a reason IT and Kentucky Kingdom both close before dark in summer. Ponder.1 point

About which: http://m.gazette.net/article/20140930/NEWS/140939967/prince-george-x2019-s-parents-question-largo-amusement-park-safety&template=frontpageMobile "...when it gets dark, let's get out of the park..." Clueless Six Flags PR type: ...did not disrupt the park's Halloween celebration? Are you kidding me?1 point
-
The better question is what parent in their right mind would leave an unattended minor at SFA, much less during Fright Fest? I know many adults who will not go there alone.1 point

In every article, I'm reading about paniced parents rushing to the park to pick up their kids...and yet they don't see that they are part of the problem. Why weren't they AT the park with their kids?1 point

Nah. They could totally pull it off. But it'll be expensive, so they should ignore the recommendations of the manufacturer and just do everything in house. What could possibly go wrong?1 point
