There was nothing more frustrating than watching Wishes Fireworks than a sea of selfie sticks with screens aglow in front of you. Glad they are gone.7 points

If we get an addition, it will most likely be announced later. Traditionally, the earliest you'll see an announcement for any new attractions is August. Cedar Fair has brought some kind of marketable improvements to the park every year since they acquired it, so I'd wager a dollar to a donut that we'll get some kind of new thing, but I'd imagine nothing on the scale of Banshee or Diamondback or we'd have seen work started by now.6 points

Wow! If that thing gets going fast enough, it'll fire you through a wormhole to Vega!5 points

Never even been to Soak City once. But I support that which could reduce lines for rides I like.5 points

I would still love to see a water coaster on the scale of Wildebeest or Mammoth (and before I get Terpy'd, I did see those two yesterday... I meant seeing one at Soak City!).5 points

A mom just now at Jukebox Diner patio: "You guys, let's go; we're going to the Haunted Mansion!" ...I want whatever pass they have. Teleportation to Walt Disney World is an amazing perk!5 points

I'm fine with spinny rides, but that whole contraption to make everything spin looks awfully heavy. Not only does it have to handle the weight, but its shifting in a ton of different ways. I like the idea, but it looks like a future maintenance nightmare.4 points

I could see the waterpark getting an expansion. When weather is good, that place draws a HUGE crowd. However I wouldn't be surprised if Rivertown is up next, it's been somewhat neglected in ways for awhile unless you count RHoF as an expansion. Something makes me think that the box will potentially be utilized in some way. If not, I'd bet at least the blacktop gets ripped up finally at minimum over there. My thing is I'd like to see: Eiffel Tower repainted (It's borderline terrible, it's rusted and flaking like hell) Band Organ fixed for good (pay someone to do it right, last years half assed job was great and all, but it didn't last, and early this year it sounded like crap) Fix lights on everything. There's no reason Vortex chaser lights should be burnt out, or the Carousel, or anything. This isn't the Kinzel era. Cedar Point was a night and day difference with Ouimet and it looks much better. Fix this here. Find something to do with the majority of Tower Gardens and the old Starlight area. Just grass is somewhat wasteful to me. There's so much room to utilize. Also while add it, fix or get rid of International Showplace... Make the fountains on the Street like the ones at Kings Dominion with the black bottom an dancing fountains. I'd love to see the pedestal deals stay incorporated as they look great, however, if they left I wouldn't be completely bummed considering what the new fountains can do and how it'd look They did all that one year, I'd be happy, no park improvement, no large capital addition, nothing. Just give me some TLC and some fresh stuff, and I'm a happy dude. However I'm not the target market, some people want a capital expense, so it is what it is.4 points

Those things should be banned everywhere. The first time I saw one was this past December when we visited the Clearwater Marine Aquarium (featured in the Dolphin Tale movies, which my daughter is a big fan of so we just had to see Winter & Hope while we were down there). We were at the stingray pool and we saw a man take this stick with a camera on the end of it and dunk it into the pool so he could apparently get underwater shots of the stingrays! Seriously?!? We saw a few more of these a few days later at Magic Kingdom; none on the rides but a few during Wishes. It wasn't until we got home that we learned these things had a name and were becoming a thing.4 points

We need an official KIC White Water Canyon geyser get-together. Imagine the fun that would ensue if we could get a large group of people, all experts at the cannon of their choice, to occupy every cannon and soak all the full boats we see with every. single. cannon. Such fun! Of course, being the good sports that we all are, we would have to break it up frequently to allow others a chance to use the cannons, but I don't think anyone can complain if they need to wait a few minutes for us to get two or three good geyser blasts in.4 points

This is an insane new generation of topspin type of ride. Not sure if this has already been posted, I could not find anywhere on KIC. https://www.yahoo.com/tech/s/m-getting-queasy-just-watching-insane-amusement-park-172145436.html3 points

I posted this before the last server hiccup... http://screencrush.com/cranium-command-inside-out/ I really believe that if they were to update the Nemo ride, do something like this, and add a few things spread through out the lands, it would add so much to EPCOT. In each land, if there was just a boat ride or a dark ride, something to add something to make it unique.... EPCOT does not feel like it has the flare it once did...3 points

Lines are minimum today, the waterpark shut down, but it seems to be an excellent day to be here at the park. Anyone else here?3 points

I agree; it was the busiest Sunday I've ever experienced. We spent about 30 minutes between getting a parking space (with two very stupid people coming close to ruining the day) and buying my niece a BAF ticket. In the park around 1:45 and left at 6 so I could take her to Akron. Everything had waits that I would expect from a Saturday in July. We didn't get to do much: Eiffel Tower, Cirque Imagine, Viking Fury, and Carousel. It was nice to have her visit the park to see where her grandparents, mom, aunt and uncles went for vacations in the late 70's to mid 80's. She didn't want to ride any coasters as she felt it was weird to ride anything without her sister and cousin - we spent 2-days at BGT a few years ago riding everything together. She loved the Cirque Imagine show and enjoyed just walking around the park.3 points

The baffoons holding these out on roller coasters were enough. Personally, I'm ridiculously happy that this was stopped BEFORE someone got hurt. We've all seen the photos of someone holding a selfie stick out on Big Thunder Mountain. Enter a tunnel and CRACK. Stick goes flying and hits everyone behind. Absolutely ridiculously idiotic. Though this probably isn't a direct response to it, California Screamin' was E-stopped the other day when someone pulled out a selfie stick on the lift! Can you imagine? I'm glad Disney put a stop to this and quickly. This means that bag-check locations outside the parks will be screening for selfie-sticks and asking visitors to return them to their cars before entering. That's great. For those that DO inevitably slip through, I very sincerely hope Disney empowers employees to react. I'm sure they will on rides, but it's just as important that those things stay out of the air during shows, parades, fireworks, etc. And you KNOW dozens of those poles were hoisted up during every showing of World of Color, JUST so the owner could have a shaky amateur video of the performance.3 points

Regardless of whether or not you like it, AiG is one of the tourist attractions in KY. I go to the Creation Museum almost every month in the Summer to walk the gardens and soon the Zip Lines. Yet, every time I go there, I see people buying merchandise, looking at the scenes and etc. It's a cash flow for Kentucky in all honesty, and being somewhat close to area attractions, it drives people there by proximity. For example, just a few weeks ago me and a few family members were there for a picnic, on the far side of the parking lot was a huge bus, where there were many students who came, to spend money, at the Museum. I too see plates from all over, Mississippi, Texas, Colorado, etc. Now you have this+ the Ark Encounter, you have a cash flow for tourism in the northern part of the Bible Belt. NKY is booming with industry and tourism is one that is on the rise.2 points

Yes grain silo explosions do happen and they are quite powerful. The powder used in these color events is typically made with a corn starch base which can explode if you have the right powder/air mixture and an ignition source. I thought I saw fireworks in the crowd during the video. A very bad situation overall and there were some nasty looking burns in the video, prayers for all involved.2 points

^ Then we ride, bragging to the tower operator about hitting boats with every geyser. Right?2 points

This is likely all because yesterday was a complete washout. Being a Saturday, I'm sure there were a lot of people who had tickets to use and went today.2 points

Just as I was leaving earlier they announced that the park would remain open till 11 tonight....I wonder why?.....lol....I figured it was because of bring a busload night....2 points

Most likely nothing. Ever heard of a Grain Silo explosion? Gather up enough dust and it can explode. I know it is Wikipedia but it was the first link I found. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dust_explosion2 points

I need to get back down there sometime this year and ride the stuff I didn't get to ride when I was there last month - particularly the Giant Wheel.2 points

^^^ I have weather prediction cap named after me? I thought Lucas was our weatherman? Driving in from out-of-town for a day trip does leave me pretty much committed, so I do try to anticipate the weather and crowd situation. Of course, Kings Island crowds and Ohio weather are two of the most difficult things there are to predict. ^^ The BAF promotion ran last Sunday as well, supposedly with substantially fewer people in the park. It's certainly a factor, but I'd wager that the weather is a bigger one; we finally got a pleasant day - on a weekend - after a string of heat waves, storms & rain-outs.2 points

Re-posting, as the original was lost in the upgrade attempt. Also on my way over to help reinforce the signage at WWC. What kind of guest-operated theming would you add, and to which ride(s)? Share your imagination. Here's my (updated) "fan-mercial" for the geysers. Enjoy!2 points

All things considered, it is safer to enjoy the relentless splashing of Whitewater Canyon, and the geyser-obsessed soakaholics therein (arrr, and so on so forth)... The last time I was in a water park, a young couple very near by (it was so crowded, people kept bumping into one-another) started, well, doing that which cannot be concealed (a more deliberate kind of bumping), and I got out immediately. I've never gone back. Private pools from now on... and I don't spare the HTH.2 points

Great move by Disney. I look forward to the day where we can all look back and laugh at the fact that the selfie-stick was ever a thing.2 points

Eventually these infernal things will be banned in so many places that there will cease to be a market for them, and then they will die off like the stupid fad that they are. I look forward to that day.2 points

That is interesting - especially as they seem to allow people to take pictures and videos on their rides. If only people would use common sense! On Wednesday, I was on 64 in Virginia when I saw a front seat passenger roll down their window to stick a selfie stick outside to take a picture. It may have been stop and go traffic, but seriously? At Kings Dominion, as my train was pulling back into the Volcano station, a teenage boy had a selfie stick strapped to his wrist (like a Wii remote) when he was told he couldn't use it. The strap might return to the station but if that stick breaks, the debris is going to hurt someone and I imagine potentially cause issues with the coaster. Just enjoy the ride and leave the camera in a safe place while on the ride. Why is that too much to ask?2 points

Cannibal has started testing with actual people on it, so hopefully it's getting close to opening. Wicked is a surprisingly great ride for how small it is, so I'm hoping they have another hit on their hands.2 points
