  1. A Halloween themed version of this would be rad!

  3. There is probably nothing productive to add to this thread at this point. So it will now be locked. If there was an ounce of truth to the claims mentioned, we hope the park addressed them and rectified any wrongdoings. To be clear we are on the side of the park, and want it to be the best park for everyone including a successful communications department. KIC promotes the park as much as we can on our social channels. We do this because we love and appreciate the park for bringing everyone so much joy.

  4. I was holding back on a-lot of speculation/statements until the merger was completed (As I do not give out financial advice or want to comment on public securities transactions). What I will say is that based on the recent moves, it seems as if it's the SIX chain with CF administration. I love the Cedar Fair corporate feel, I loved the font, which we got with the merger. I love the chaperone policy, which came with the merger. I love the straightforward pricing, which SIX finally did away with recently. I feel as if this merger will probably have some serious rough patches however if the past few weeks have been any indication of what FUN will look like moving forward, I'm excited to see what the future looks like!

  5. I'm curious about the future development of Kings Island and would love to hear your thoughts on what each section of the park might need by the end of the decade. What improvements or additions would you like to see in areas like rides, attractions, dining, infrastructure, and guest services? Do you think there will be a new section added to the park? If so, what kind of theme or attractions would you hope for?

  7. The show is almost certainly going to return to Kings Island by next summer. I suppose if the scheduling allowed it could even return as soon as Tricks and Treats.

  8. Two other legacy SIX parks have also implemented this policy - Six Flags America (about 35 miles south of Baltimore) and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (about 29 miles north of Oakland, CA). It will be interesting to see if the rest of the SIX parks implement a similar policy. I can't really picture Great Adventure doing this as it's so far from any major cities to begin with (Philadelphia is the nearest big city; Trenton, NJ is closer but has less than 100,000 people), but some of the other suburban parks like Great America might.

  9. Spent a good portion of the day at Kings Island, one day after my 53rd birthday. I went with my 15 year old kid and his best friend. Interestingly enough, his friend had never been to an amusement park before. I started off my day riding Mystic Timbers, which really got the adrenaline pumping. I won't get into what rides I rode in great detail. I will just reveal a few details along the way. Every ride was practically a walk on, which made for a great day. Again, I'll just cover the highlights of my day. To start with, I did get a lap on Snoopy's Soapbox Racers. I was seated with 3 other people including their kid. As it turns out, these people were a lot of fun. I think KI knocked it out of the park with this addition to their good lineup of kids' coasters. I also found it funny that when we were going up the front spike, the kid though for sure we were going to go off the track, but that's coming from someone who looked to be no older than 8. I was pleasantly surprised that I managed 2 spins on Delirium as it was a one gondola wait. I don't ever recall seeing lines as they were yesterday. I managed to ride Banshee twice and I must say I was a little disappointed this year. I'm guessing I caught that coaster on a bad day because the vibration was unreal. Quite possibly could be that the wheels were worn thin, but had not been replaced yet. I have found that to be the case most any time I receive a bad ride on any coaster. Also, at 3:30pm, I began an Orion marathon for 1 hour. I managed to get 10 laps on it in that amount of time. I just love that coaster! On a personal note, any place on there that I know there is airtime, I put my legs straight out and I'm literally levitating above my seat for at least 3 full seconds. At 5:30, I decided to eat dinner. Anyone who has ever read any of my trip reports know that since I drive 3 hours away, I'm hitting up LaRosa's since I don't get there but once a year, if that. However, this year I was bound and determined to eat somewhere different. I chose the Cantina as it always just smells so delicious as you walk by there on your way to Adventure Express, Sol Spin, etc. Let me say, I really enjoyed eating a carnitas bowl for dinner. The food reminded me of being very similar to Chipoltle. I was actually full with about 1/3 of the bowl left, but I finished it off anyway. We wound up talking about meeting up at Diamondback for the last ride of the evening, since we were leaving at 8pm. His friend was really exhausted by the whole experience. I also don't see how he stood being in the 95 degree weather in jeans and a hoodie. We met up at the Diamondback plaza and it was closed at that moment, so we decided to take our customary last ride on The Beast. I mean, what is truly left to say about this legendary ride, other than to say that I've now been riding this coaster for 35 years. As we were driving home, I asked his friend what his favorite ride was. I was imagining he would say something like Diamondback, Orion, Flight of Fear or something along those lines. He revealed that his favorite was actually The Racer. I also came to the realization yesterday that I have been riding The Racer for the last 43 years. Hard to believe I am as old as Kings Island and that my mother brought me there in a stroller the year it opened. Overall, a great day was enjoyed by all.

  10. The Racer is my 10 year old sister's favorite too! She has ridden everything except Invertigo. She does like Banshee alot too but she always wants to ride The Racer (blue side). She's always super disappointed if only the red side is running. As a kid my big two were always The Beast and Vortex. Then one day I got on Diamondback and everything changed!

  11. I saw the 5pm final show on Sunday with @DJSkyFoxx, and now that I have experienced it I will say I would truly like to see it return! When I initially saw this announced, my initial thought was that it was going to be hokey and I was saying to myself "How have we declined from Cirque' to this?", and now that Ive seen the show my mind has been changed in a big way. Being honest, I was the one screaming the loudest in the entire theater when the "scream if you want more" screens were displayed, I wanted more of what I'd just seen. There were portions that were light, fun, and entertaining, portions that were technical and made me really enjoy observing what he was doing and how he was doing it, some portions that were meaningful and powerful that hit me, and I wish I could see it agai

  12. I posted this photo in the other thread. Quality is hit or miss, but still good at its worst.

  13. I would agree @BB1. So far it seems to be more of a positive for the SF parks. In turn, a more stable company moving forward for all parks.

  14. Or you can get the Big Pretzel at the Brewhouse. Costs a bit more, but you get much more bang for your buck.

  17. I agree on the inconsistency part. From what I gather visiting other parks within the chain it’s not only a KI issue, but a Chain-wide issue. I’ll have to give the beer cheese a try sometime.

  20. Whatever it is that is causing the closure, I am just hoping the park is trying to get a part for it. Even if they have to wait to get it, I really do want to see Invertigo last awhile longer. I think we all know it's not going to last forever but it's still a very intense ride and I personally think it's been running a bit smoother lately... wondering if maybe they fixed it up a bit after Dorney closed Stinger...
