I personally am digging the purple wallpaper. I get the sentiment shared here that the old version of the ride had a dilapidated elegance to it that the new one probably won't have. Is the new one a little more cartoonish? Yes. But I'm approaching it as a new version a new ride entirely not trying to replicate the old one. To me this is a restoration of the theater and won't have that same dilapidated haunted feel. It will pull the nostalgia of the original characters into a more "fun" reopening of the theater that has been fixed up for an opening night performance and isn't sitting in ruin anymore5 points

After reflecting on it, it's most definitely the moving bust they're referring to and they'll be placed somewhere on the ride as the one prop from the original that returns. Also since the ride cars have continued to be called enchanted opera boxes, for sure they'll call the adventure an "Enchanted Voyage" in the queue, there's no way that doesn't make it in there.4 points

Small Spoiler alert this takes a sneak peak at the look of the indoor Queue portion. I came across this posted on Facebook tonight from the flooring company working on the indoor Queue not too much revealed in the video/picture. just gives a little more excitement knowing work is going on and things are coming along!4 points

I personally would love to see phantom theater characters return considering they did have a maestro character when the original opened. You know people would line up for photos with arpeggio (the cat) and larry3 points

It looks like to me that the busts are gone and they filled in the walls. Like notice the frame that doesn't have glass in it. There is clearly no hole in the wall anymore where the bust would be... I'm curious if the busts will be incorporated somewhere else in the ride or que if they are indeed doing screens in the hallway3 points

I think they definitely should bring the bust back that’s a haunted mansion classic staple that works great for Disney and Kings Island in its effect and it’s a cheap effect too3 points

The new que area looks AMAZING, I'm glad they went with the new wallpaper. I loved the original PT wallpaper but after so many years it started to look outdated and even at times it started to peel back from the wall. It looks like KI is putting a lot of thought in this me being a big fan of the original ride... it looks like more thought is being put into this ride than the original PT. 😊3 points

Working at Sweet Spot it was always interesting when people would try to come in as soon as the park opened. We would be in prepping in the morning and you would look over and see people knocking at the door or just trying to yank it open. It was like 10am chill out guys.2 points

I hope not. At least not in any major, obvious way.2 points

All the references to "cave, mine, beneath the surface" makes me wonder if there is another rocking boat on the Herschend horizon. Wonder if we could see a Fire in the Hole type situation with Flooded Mine going away at the end of 27, then reopening new in 28.2 points

It could be done with only a shallow ramp, however raising the floor 3-4' would affect the viability and view of the "balcony". There are three doors on the ground floor of the queue room with two being emergency exits (one leading toward the Enchanted Theater and the other leading to the left of the entrance facade) and the third being a balcony access door in the opposite corner from the entrance. I'm a little hesitant with it right now due to these photos, though I do recognize the fact that this is unfinished and with all of the overhead lights on. What kind of flooring do you think they will go for? More laminate/linoleum like before or something else? It feels wrong to just leave it at the concrete. I have to wonder how long that post will stay up and if the park will request it be taken down. How often do we see an on-site contractor posting content like this? The electrical plans show fixtures for six screens in the queue hallway (one to replace each bust). I'd love it if the busts could return, but unless something changes it seems unlikely at this point. I didn't see any connections for queue line FunTVs, but there is still a spot on the other side of the room for one.2 points

Possibly what’s quoted below They might bring the following busts back. IIRC, there were 4 originally (I thought 6 in the original ride’s concept art).2 points

Looks like the Hallway has possibly 6 portraits2 points

I can see Maestro be a walk around character along with his performers and friends. I could also see live actors roaming around International Street, acting like residences living here.2 points

I believe the first and second screenshots are for the "Snack Bar" in the queue line where Larry will be stationed with the flashlights. The gargoyle in the third photo would go in the Prop Room (scene 23) which was between the Cold Storage and the first set of skeletons. The last screenshot clearly says it's Scene 6, which is where the tree before the graveyard was. It would be really cool if the "window" into the theater had a Hitchhiking Ghosts effect, but I don't know how that would work within the story since you're supposed to be looking into the theater. As for what may be returning from Boo Blasters, I don't think they'd consider the moving busts to have been a part of that ride. I really would like for them to make a return elsewhere in the ride since their place in the hallway has been taken by screens, but there could be a good spot for them to go elsewhere in the building.1 point

I'm curious what this big surprise sequence is in the ride where we're being watched?1 point

Curious as to what this new show element will involve? Maybe some type of Pepper’s Ghost element similar to the Hitchhiking Ghosts at the end of Disney’s Haunted Mansion? Thinking the reused BBoBH pieces will be the swingling chandeliers and turntable. Looks like we got a glimpse of what was leaked yesterday as well.1 point

Interesting! Thank you for sharing. Think this gives us a clue for the queue line smell effect that was listed in the plans. Looks incredible.1 point

When a family of 6 or 7 wanted to get into a cart on Boo Blasters On Boo Hill... and obviously that would be too many people so they told the father that they would need more than one cart. But the father started cussing out the KI employee and making a scene and then dumped his pop cup everywhere (nearly get me). Behavior like that should not be tolerated and should be kicked out immediately. I think about this from time to time.1 point

Glad for you too. Unfortunately I'm planning a big trip back to Ohio and was hoping to do Pennsylvania and now I'm really questioning if thunderation is worth rethinking my entire plan and changing flights around...1 point

I'm personally in the camp of put boocifer in Coney mall for Halloween and let him for a few years like they did to the original PT characters. I personally don't love boo blasters and hope they don't give the new PT a cheapened look by trying to reuse a bunch of that outdated garbage1 point

This is the proper way to retire a ride for sure. I've never been to SDC but I'm going to do my best to get out there as thunderation is one of my bucket list rides and while I'm sad to see the end of another arrow mine train, I've heard it doesn't get the lines and isn't as popular as what it once was. I'm assuming it also probably has heavier maintenance costs being an arrow. So while it's unfortunate to lose any ride I commend the park for giving everyone a great opportunity to send it off in style1 point

I've tried taking screenshots and it doesn't show up clearly, but there's currently a crew working on the facade (or landscaping maybe?) on the live cams.1 point

If they are going to add hotel space, they really need to add on to the waterpark as well. Clearly, they have the space for it. The waterpark is packed as is on weekends and busiest days. It’s why we try to go on Sundays or early in the week when days and holidays allow.1 point

I recommended that she be the one hired for the seasonal digital content coordinator position prior to the start of the 2023 season. I wish her well in her new position at P&G.1 point
