  1. Carowinds is planning to host a passholder q&a with park leadership as well as other festivities as part of pass preview night. I think KI should do something like this on pass preview day

  2. Maybe with the new CEO, we will see the return of the tasting cards? Thinking positive here.

  3. I unironically thought there was like a slight change PTE might've had a third season if they hadn't posted a full recording on YouTube this week. I'm not expecting too much, because I think the ride itself return is a major accomplishment. Something very easy to do that I hope they put somewhere is bringing the displays from the Encore lobby somewhere in the park (whether that's in an indoor extended queue/meet and greet space inside Peanuts showplace if crowds necessitate that, or at a merch display). I think a smaller-scale PT show in the peanuts showplace (with Puppets maybe??) would be cool, but I can't realistically see that happening this season. Also whatever fireworks or drone show they have will probably have a Phantom Theater segment. Maybe a ride overlay or character thing will open for Haunt or Winterfest.

  4. I can respect the 90/10. Knowing it needed updated, why not let the show steer the decision a bit. A totally different experience would most likely (totally assuming) cost more money than brining back the PT characters.

  5. Oh I agree on using characters that were already created but how would they truly know if those characters were still relevant or engaging 20 years later if they hadn't done the show? I think it was a great way to honor the history of the park but if that show had bombed do you think we'd be seeing them invest a sizeable amount in a new Phantom Theater ride? I think not. So I agree the motivation behind the show was probably 90% let's pay homage to the history of the park for its 50th anniversary but I do think they always had it in the back of their mind to "test" the audience of how many people remember and still enjoy these characters.

  6. I disagree. I think it was a historical move for the 50th and then they realized there was still interest in the characters and story. Why not capitalize on what you already created when you know it is popular with guests instead of starting from scratch.

  7. posted on KI instagram page, confirms that fan reception to the show gave the park the green light to return the long missed phantom theater to it’s rightful place, we in the community should pat our self on the back for this because we made it happen!

  8. Thread bump! And finally, after all this time, it looks like this concept will finally be brought to life at the new Universal Kids Resort in Texas: Link Always wanted to see this concept make its way to KI back in the Nick Universe days. Man, I’m getting old.

  9. Visitors riding the Dollywood Express in 2026 may notice something missing β€” the occasional cinder drifting through the air β€” but otherwise, the experience will feel just as timeless as ever. https://themeparksbydon.com/dollywood-express-2026-change/

  10. At the moment. I expect Cedar Point to also convert.

  11. IIRC that is near the pad that formerly housed the Mystery Machine and Snoopy's doghouse. If it's specifically where the gap in the trees is then it's right where the original Phantom Theater entrance was. It's entirely possible that this could be 1) an extended queue, 2) stroller parking, or 3) a path/curb replacement. I'd be happy to see some new concrete on the plaza. Any extended queue would need to find a good way to navigate the hill and get back to the facade, so I'm thinking it's either stroller parking or concrete replacement. For all we know there could already be facade work happening on the lower areas of the building. The only signs of painting we're likely to see is some scaffolding. The bridge, "gate", and giant mouth at the entrance could also be worked on without the webcam seeing due to how the top of the castle blocks them. For concrete work (seen from this distance/video quality) you will generally be able to observe three stages: Breaking up/removal of the existing concrete. (rough ground) Framing of the new concrete. (lumber boundaries) Pouring/finishing of the new concrete. (you'll see the truck/wheel barrows)

  12. Funny how that sort of behavior leads to being kicked out and followed up with a trespassing violation in retail big box stores, but then this sort of behavior seems to get a pass while at an amusement park I really can't understand why grown adult humans resort to this sort of tantrum/bully behavior thinking it makes them appear better or know better than the literal employee running the ride...like chill out. It really ain't that deep. Not to mention, just upon visual inspection of the ride cars you can tell there is absolutely no way 6-7 people could fit in there both comfortably and safely but hey.

  14. Knott's also has yet to open Montezooma's revenge!!! Hopefully it will open this year. I know they had a few problems with the company who was doing the refurbishment.
