  1. Delaying the release of an events calendar until just before opening day is a missed strategic opportunity. By that point, many guests have already mapped out their 2026 travel plans around parks that announced their events months in advance. In a market where consumers are making decisions earlier than ever, waiting to communicate key dates means risking that Kings Island gets left out of the consideration set entirely. It’s not about timing. It’s about mindshare, trip planning influence, and ultimately attendance from guests who may have chosen differently if they’d had the information sooner.

  2. Love Camp Cedar. We rent a cottage at least once a summer for a staycation. Excited for these changes and to have a bit of HB back in our KI experience.

  3. From what I could catch on the webcams over the last hour, they've been testing both sides of Racer, putting trains back on Mystic, and working on Monster.

  6. Big news for the area near KI as Camp Cedar is now going to be Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park Cincinnati! This honestly is a good idea and a very nice nostalgia throwback to the old KI Campground that I believe was also operated by Jellystone! https://www.campjellystone.com/ohio/jellystone-park-cincinnati/attractions

  7. You would think a company that is struggling with debt would be be using every lifeline that they could imagine to bring in more customers.

  8. CP ordered a small ride from Zamperla then got a large thrill ride from them soon after. KI ordered Snoopy’s Soapbox Racers from Vekoma so would it be a reasonable assumption that they might receive something large from them next?

  9. They've been actively working on the dirt pile behind Orion with what looks to be a front loader and dump trucks the last few days. It is hard to see if it is clearing or just dirt.

  10. Does anyone know if someone has made an Enchanted Voyage ride layout like we've seen with Phantom Theater? I haven't been able to find one and would love to see the path it took through the building, especially since it was subdivided after Smurfs Enchanted Voyage.

  11. I think that is 100% what they'll be doing, it's just upsetting that they can't figure this kind of stuff out to be released in January. I'd love to see a big America 250 celebration as well. Someone either here or in one of the Facebook groups claimed that a higher-up or spokesperson said this will be the last year for Carnivale, but I think it'd be easier to revitalize the entire event (while keeping the name and theme) than to bring in a whole new one. I saw someone else say that Kings Island just brings the same back every year; but isn't that how seasonal festivals usually work at regional parks like Kings Island? As for the Passholder Preview hours, that email said they won't be published because the park isn't open to the general public. I believe they might make it "official" on the events page. If I saw correctly, Dollywood required their passholders to make a reservation for the 2026 Passholder Preview. I don't think that's what Kings Island should do, but they do need to find a way to make it less hectic and/or bring the crowds down. Maybe only have it open to those who purchased their pass in the first month of sales? That would make it more exclusive while rewarding those who purchase early. The Bands In Residence concert series would be very as long as they don't take away from the existing entertainment to do it. KI needs more entertainment offerings, not less. Bringing back stuff like the races and some exclusive events would be easy money for the park.

  12. Pirate Crypt is currently at $90,000. There’s no way I’m going to be able to afford anything from this. (I am assuming it’s a glitch or mistype on someone’s end, but you truly never know) Update: They switched it back but that would’ve been really funny.

  15. KI operated the campground themselves. According to Wikipedia, Jellystone is operated on a franchise system and is a division of Sun Communities (the same Sun that operates Lake Rudolph in Santa Claus, Indiana, though I think Sun Outdoors might be a separate division)

  16. Really, multiple holiday overlays could be beneficial to KI as a passholder park the same way Haunted Mansion Holiday draws big local crowds to Disneyland. Especially with the state of the chain and the canceling of seasonal events. Would be a great way to drive attendance with something “new.” Whether or not that attendance would affect revenue is another story. Would be cool to see!
