  1. To go along with this, during Spirit Song they would usually have some radio station tents and booths set up near Congo. I wonder if some of those booths and tents will be at these concerts specifically the Skillet one where maybe Star 93.3 sets up their tent. They usually set it up right by Congo near the entrance to Timberwolf and it features a photo wall and cool goodies. Imo it makes AZ have very nice energy before, during, and after the concerts.
  2. Glad they are bringing in Skillet! A lot of people who usually go to Spirit Song will likely go to this as Skillet is usually one of the big headlining bands of the 3 day festival along with artists like For King and Country, Newsboys, TobyMac, etc. A theory I could have is Premier Festivals may still be working on things with how the future of these festivals may go. They haven't announced they are permanently discontinuing spirit song and those other events and one of the sister festivals to Spirit Song (Rock the Smokies at Dollywood) is back. Maybe the park knew people miss the event so they decided to get Skillet to do a concert at the park to sorta hold Spirit Song fans over for next year when it could make its big return. Just some thoughts. I know absolutely nothing about what's going on behind the scenes.
  3. The non park admission entrance to Timberwolf must be this new pathway that I saw from the tower that goes under Invertigo and connects to the pathway that goes under congo falls. I posted a sketch of it in another thread while back. It'll also be interesting to see if they'll have concessions during these concerts in the theater area. The blog post does say something about them selling lager at the events. During Spirit Song people would bring food and drinks from the park into the concerts. Idk if that'll be allowed for these or not. Also, another question I have is restrooms. Will they have like porta potties or something set up in the Timberwolf area for those who need to use the restroom and don't have park admission.
  4. One of my predictions is Congo Falls will close this season and a thrilling flat ride will replace it for next year. With KI now wanting to use Timberwolf more, I'm starting to doubt we'll see a huge retheme of Action Zone. I feel like Action Zone as is a good place to just hang around and ride some nice standard thrill rides in between concert acts. Just my thoughts. I also think we could very well see something in Soak City or Snoopy. We'll just have to wait and see. Lets just enjoy this season and take all in the 50th celebration!
  5. The two years I attended Spirit Song, the main acts (like Skillet, Chris Tomlin, etc) went until past park close. I believe one of those years, the park stayed open past 10 bc we went and rode Diamondback after the main act ended that night.
  6. Very exciting stuff! Glad to see Timberwolf back and running again and not just for 3 days a year like in the past (even though that event isn't even planned). Like @BoddaH1994 said AZ is always fun when there is a concert in Timberwolf. All the times I've gone to the park during Spirit Song, AZ is always energetic and fun to hang out at before during or in between acts. That's where a lot of my memories of Chicken Shack are because when I would go with my old youth group in Indiana, we would spend a lot of our time at chicken shack.
  7. Take with a grain of salt, but here is the early weather forecast for the 29th. Expect it to be very busy especially after schools let out that day!
  8. If I were to take a guess, it'll be in this grass area: Would honestly be a good place to set up a tent like CP did. I think either this area or International Restaurant (I hope not the IR because I think they should honestly open the International Restaurant for everyone like they do for Winterfest.)
  9. Seems like KI will be offering the VIP experience similar to what CP did last year! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/april/kings-island-to-introduce-two-all-new-vip-experiences-for-2022-season?fbclid=IwAR30bfU2DlI40_p4Hvn5tvdXHb7DI2nEGRi9VFjmNKEb7YZ87_E334rMdyE
  10. My sister is in the Kings High School marching band and she is performing that day with the band!
  11. One thing I've been thinking of lately is a gravity group family woodie. They haven't added a family coaster in years and it is different enough from Blue Streak. Think Kentucky Flyer, but a little taller and have longer trains for capacity reasons. It would be different enough from blue streak.
  12. On the Cedar Point Webcam if you look closely to the left hand side, you can see they put up a wooden fence in the area near Wicked Twister. More specifically it is up around the area where the old stadium was where for the last few seasons they had a stage and grass area there. Its also where they had one of the VIP lounges last year. This also isn't the first time a fence was put up there. If you may recall, they put a fence up there after they tore down the stadium for the construction of the stage that was put there. It makes me wonder, why are they putting a fence up there now? Are they building a new stage for later this year? Are they not going to use that area at all this year? Could it be for an even bigger project that includes Wicked Twister's plot of land? If you look closely, you can see the fence also goes into part of the midway as well so basically the pathway there will be in half this season. It'll be interesting to see what this becomes. Speculate Away! Link to webcam to see for yourself: https://www.cedarpoint.com/live-video
  13. Possibly, but I honestly think the grass area near DB's brake run would be a good spot for something like that. I think Tower Gardens would be better used as Tower Gardens with some sort of legacy walk or something. That's just me.
  14. **DOUBLE POST** Here is a screenshot from a video from the top of the Eiffel Tower of what Timberwolf looks like now: Link to video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EE3yNYMtVmQ
  15. They actually used that area for the Banshee brew fest back in 2015/16 when they did it. That's where they had picnic tables, cornhole boards, and the live music stage set up.
  16. Yeah I have heard rumblings in the past that they could put a VIP lounge in the grass area near Diamondback's brake shed as well as the International Restaurant. Don't quote me on that though as it was just an idea brought up in conversations.
  17. There has also been some action around Timberwolf. It looks like the stage and the sign has been painted. Also from the ET (I don't have pictures) I saw a new pathway that wasn't there last year that starts near the smoking area and goes under Invertigo and connects to the path that goes under Congo Falls to the Timberwolf plaza area. The path also has fences on both sides as if they are going to have people walking on it. It could be just for employees or I think a cool idea they could use it as another entrance for those who want to see shows there without getting park admission if they were to do concerts there again (the fact that it got a fresh coat of paint makes me think they are going to use it again just nothing has been announced yet). I also saw in the area between the stage and the greenroom trailer some new concrete put down and all the trees cleared there. It also had a small fence in front of it that made it look like it could be a viewing area of some type. Maybe even a VIP area for concerts. I'll draw what I saw on Google Maps so you can get an idea of what I saw. And if so, what type of concerts and if Spirit Song comes back too. We'll see.
  18. Oh please enough of the whole John Matarese thing. That was almost 3 years ago and I haven't spoken with him since. Plus its been made pretty clear that the park doesn't want us speaking to media personnel directly about the park especially employees (like me).
  19. I was the worker who spoke to you on the Eiffel Tower earlier today.
  20. Looks like a we're getting a VIP experience this year! https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1937674316431850&set=gm.1697822573884186

  22. Is it just me, or does it feel off that the ride operated with the crane still up? If I were part of the GP and even today, I would feel pretty hesitant about riding when the crane is still up. Maybe that was an early sign the ride was doomed lol.
  23. Are you talking Timberwolf? It's there, but its not labeled. One thing I did notice is that there seems to be a pathway that starts right by the ticket booth and goes under Invertigo and Congo right to Timberwolf's plaza area. I checked last year's map and that wasn't there last year. Based on how it looks, it looks like it could be used as a walkway to Timberwolf from the front gate if they were to do concerts there again.
  24. The SOB station is not on any of my past park maps I have.
  25. A little rendering on the park map of what the block party could look like. Reminds me of Celebrate 150 at CP a little: A rendering of Off the Rails: Link to download map from KI website: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/directions
