Kentucky Kingdom held a live stream on Facebook celebrating the ribbon-cutting ceremony for Discovery Meadow. At the end of the live stream, the park announced they would be investing $14 million for next year and stated "We think that it's going to send everyone flying into 2026". My guess is that whatever is going to "send us flying" next year is probably going to be placed at the front of the park near Lightning Run, as many rides from that area were either removed (Cyclos) or relocated to Discovery Meadow. I will be at the park in the next few weeks to check out all the changes made with Discovery Meadow. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AhsAkKcLj/

I remember as a kid thinking of them as one big Beast family back when they were all still around. The Beast being the grandfather, The Beastie being the grandson, and the Son of Beast being the deadbeat son!

I'm starting to agree with what @Diamondback_Is_King said. My current prediction is that the Skyflyer plot will be used for some Halloween Haunt 2025 maze, whereas the 2026 family thrill attraction will go somewhere else in the park.
-
Looking at how these paths were built at the start of the season before anything was built there, it's giving me Haunt Maze vibes. Maybe they could be relocating Cornered there or putting in a new haunt maze altogether.
-
It's probably not going to be a pathway connecting Banshee/Bat with Drop Tower. Those new paths look far too narrow for that.

As much as I hate to admit it, I think you are correct in your analysis that Kings Island has peaked. We have steadily been seeing the park cut back on multiple aspects such as operations, hours, and new additions and I don't think that's going to improve anytime soon. With the merger between Six Flags and Cedar Fair, the new Six Flags chain seems to be currently prioritizing bringing up select legacy Six Flags parks up to the standards that was set with Cedar Fair. Parks like Great Adventure, Magic Mountain, Over Texas, and Over Georgia seem to be positioned to be getting heavy investments for the next several years. Parks like Kings Island, even though it's still one of the better parks in the chain, won't get as much focus since Six Flags has already built that park up to their standards.

Six Flags and Cedar Fair Merge
WoodVengeance replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
I've noticed at Kings Island that Skittles and M&M ads are being played on Fun TVs and info displays. If you weren't aware, this was something seen primarily at legacy Six Flags parks prior to the merger, and it seems to me that the new Six Flags chain has started introducing this to the legacy Cedar Fair parks as well. -

Yeah, I think this park was the one that was talked about the most when it came to which park(s) Six Flags would potentially close. Unfortunately, I think the coasters there are either too old or, in the case of Superman, too big to be considered for relocation. I think some of the flat rides could be relocated though, as well as the new trains for Superman and Professor Screamore's SkyWinder.

*DC. Marvel is owned by Disney

I think they were referring to an area themed around traditional flight, as opposed to the more "science fiction" theme with Area 72.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
WoodVengeance replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
Seeing that "falling trees" teaser gave me quite the nostalgic memory. I remember first coming to this website during the 2017 decoding thread (which spoilers alert, ended up being for Mystic Timbers) -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Valravn was the last Cedar Fair coaster to exit through a gift shop. I was thinking they already have Coaster Connections as a gift shop, so they could just have merch for the new ride in there as well as the Emporium on International Street.

I made this quick concept for a Zamperla spinning coaster akin to Wild Mouse at Cedar Point for the Xtreme Skyflyer plot.
-
That, and companies usually stay on Notice of Commencements even after their projects were completed. (like B&M and GCI) Zamperla could've been on there because of Cargo Loco and Sol Spin.
-
It would be interesting to see a Zamperla Wild Mouse themed to Bavarian Beetle
-
It could still be possible. Looking at an older video from Amusement Insiders, Canada's Wonderland's Xtreme Skyflyer was removed in early March 2024, while ours was removed around mid-late March. Mind you, theirs was removed because of a major coaster that was going to be built for the following year.
-
Looks like there's a survey flag in the fourth photo. Could this fit the bill for a family thrill attraction?
-
That would be nice to see, though I'm doubtful Six Flags would be interested in bringing back an attraction like that. Especially when Cedar Point's Snake River Expedition only lasted three seasons.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
WoodVengeance replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I found this amusing error in the app. Or is it not an error and the park won't communicate with us about WindSeeker getting relocated for some reason? -
What I'm saying is people shouldn't be over-reliant on information from fan-made Facebook groups, as those are notorious for having lots of misinformation, so it's more difficult to filter out the real news with the fake news. Just because one person has been removed doesn't mean others won't spread misinformation as well.
-
Personally, I don't think the park should be using Facebook groups at all for promoting changes. As we've clearly seen with the stunt that was pulled with the fake email, Facebook can be a hot pot for misinformation.

Are the Billboards Around Stunt Track Not Getting Put Back Up?
WoodVengeance replied to jcoop22's topic in Kings Island
Something I heard was that they might put up new billboards to commemorate the ride's 20th anniversary, but I cannot confirm that. -
Soak City 2025 Construction Updates
WoodVengeance replied to Hawaiian Coasters 325's topic in Kings Island
The date states that it was taken on March 8th. Although Skyflyer is still present in the image, you can see the base of it was already demolished. This image has to be from the 2021 season. It was the only year where Slingshot and Orion were present alongside Carnivale, as that event wasn't held during 2020 or 2022. -
It's still entirely possible that it could still end up being closed. We'll just have to wait and see what happens throughout the season.
