  1. At least it will have a name... After "Flight Deck, Drop Tower, and Backlot Stunt Coaster," I was beginning to wonder just how hard it really was to get an imaginative moniker for new attractions...
  2. This is so much cooler and more epic than the "Starlight Spectacular" of my beloved home park, that it's making me literally laugh! "Alright! That's it, time to go all "Bellagio-meets-Pink-Floyd" on the Kings Island Royal Fountains!" [Cue Barenaked Ladies' ♫ "If I had a million dollars..."♫ ]
  3. Remember, it's not in what you do, it's in what was done for you.

  4. Dying sucks. Take care of my park!

  5. "No more lasers?" Ok, what'd I miss? Are lasers really so ubiquitous now that everyone would be "ho-hum" about them? Sheesh. Oh, wait: I get it. Other, "better" amusement parks have already done the laser thing to death... I see. Nothing left to imagine, I guess. -Tb, googling quadrotor light shows...
  6. I know I've mentioned this before, but I wish I'd seen this, or at least paid close attention to the people in the video before the day I ran media for a business meeting at the Garfield Suites a couple years ago! By chance I stopped for a moment in between setting up the meeting rooms to look at a picture of the Island Queen, which was on the wall outside this gentleman's office on the second floor. He came out and struck up a conversation about it with me. In my narcissistic, "know-it-all" way I spent about 20 minutes of the gentleman's time spewing how much I knew about that boat, and Coney Island, and even about Cincinnati. I don't think I said a word about my freakin' favorite place on the planet, Kings Island. Oh, no, not once did I say anything about it. I just had to try and sound like a Coney historian to this guy, who was all the while smiling in a way that seemed to conceal something. Turns out he was the second man you see in the video. Gary Wachs. THE flippin' CREATOR of Kings Island . Oh, the conversation I coulda had! Oy.
  7. In line for Firehawk?!? I've heard of trying to induce labor, but lady, come on!
  8. I think a few strategically-placed laser projectors could eliminate the need for all the short-prone wiring. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAq4XDdNsYU#t=01m27s
  9. Be good to yourself.

  10. From what I've seen and read, Barry Williams really owned it. I mean, really, really owned it.
  11. For a scone is a biscuit and exhileration is thrill.-Tb, who mixeth it up a bit... Certainly. Don would be the Scion of Thrills. Fun, eh? Sigh. Checkmate. You got me. I'm too exhausted to keep up with it. [raises fine silver goblet into the air]...."To Don!"
  12. Not to Chang the subject (dang it! I almost resisted...) but conjecture is what makes this site so much fun. Seriously!
  13. For a scone is a biscuit and exhileration is thrill.-Tb, who mixeth it up a bit...
  14. Very weird, fun one this time out. I messed around with sound effects, unusual things around the park, my dog, and even some CGI (entire, improved UFO scene done in PowerPoint). Whole thing ends abruptly. Best with headphones. Anyway, enjoy.
  15. For a second there, I thought that the first picture of the under-construction wheel looked like an insane Swing Ship!
  16. ...which "lead" me back to this topic, which has become something of an epic read!
  17. A good day for Polar Bear Club members perhaps...
  18. I'll mark mine with a screen capture of kingsislandpr's avatar.
  19. "Bone-Chilling Screams?" I wonder if a sound effect is going to be deliberately engineered into the ride. I can imagine some kind of multi-chime, "siren-whistle" that would use the air through which the cars were moving to make a distinctive sound during certain acceleration elements (drops, launches, etc.) I'm sure if such a thing were designed in, consideration would be taken as to decibels, frequency, etc. Just a thought.
  20. We'd been planning to come see the Brady stars for months, and then yesterday morning, my poor wife woke up sick. [Picks up phone and starts dialing Alanis Morrisette] Glad to see it went well, though !
  21. Great topic! I'm multi-genre (I even voted didgeridoo!) We need to see Smooth Jazz up there! Man, I love me some Norman Brown, Lee Ritenour, Euge Groove, Gerald Albright, Kenny G, Spyra Gyra and the Rippingtons, to name a few!
  22. I think the first video in this thread shows an individual falling in a manner contrary to the conservation of angular momentum. If it were "real," the "rider" would have fallen at a distinct right-to-left arc, and his rate of descent would have been slightly more gradual, not at the velocity depicted.
  23. The ride's ugliness finally caught up with it. No, just kidding, it's really sinking. Alright, enough foolin', it's [giant animated foot stomps Tb] ...it's my wife's favorite ride; I hope it's back up and running soon.
