  1. The spike is the new part of the ride. If they are having problems with less than a year old track, I don't know what to tell you!
  2. I would rather have TT2 than no TT2... Anyway, does anyone know why it's been down?
  3. Do you really think you'll get some theming? I hate to be real, but Kings Island doesn't care about one guest and what they want (sorry if that came across rude, didn't mean to ). Unless you have some close connection, you're probably not gonna get anything (sorry)
  4. I knew it was closed last Monday. Not sure if it was closed before then
  5. I used to live in Oregon and Washington when I was a little kid, so it's always fun to hear from someone who knows what Wild Waves is! Fun fact: Wild Thing was my very first legit coaster and my first upside down roller coaster. When we got back into the station, they asked if we wanted to go again, and to raise our hands if you wanted to get off. So, I raised my hand after being scared the first time, but my dad put it back down. So I rode it again and loved it, thus beginning my love for roller coasters! (Although I would say my first visit to KI was when I became an enthusiast) Unfortunately, the Northwest isn't the greatest place to be a coaster fan, as there aren't that many parks around. But there are a few good ones around the area that people from the East Coast don't normally go to. My favorite from the Northwest is Silverwood! It's about a 4hr 45min drive from Seattle. I haven't ever made it down to the California parks (I wish I've been to Magic Mountain) except for Disneyland. Odd question for you @johnjniehaus: Will you still root for your sports teams in Ohio, or root for your new local sports teams in Seattle? I still root for the Seahawks (although it's hard to root for them ) but also root for the Bengals here in Ohio. Except for when they play each other (very rare though) I root for the Seahawks. So excited for you and your new home! I used to love the trees and nature as a little kid, and still would love to revisit today. The best of luck to you!
  6. I do think that Kings Island should take into account what the public thinks on certain things, but if Kings Island listened to every single guest, there would be no rides. Everyone has their opinion, and there will always be someone who disagrees with the actions taken. As for what will replace TR:TR or Vortex, I would just be glad to get a new addition in those plots. Better to get a ride than no ride at all. I get old rides are fun and memorable and when they go away its sad. I never got to ride Dragster or Ka which makes me a little sad, but I look towards the positives. TT2 is a pretty good replacement for Dragster even after the year-long closure, and is more reliable when it's open than Dragster was. I also look forward to the new replacement of Ka, and hope it is a great thrill coaster! In the end, there are other things to life than theme parks and roller coasters. Every time I go to KI, I enjoy it to it's fullest. I have fun with friends and family and love all of what I would call the world-class roller coasters I get to ride there! Kind of like what @DJSkyFoxx said, instead of focusing on the past, look into the bright future ahead for KI. I'm just glad my home park isn't Six Flags America and is one of the parks that SIX cares about (despite what some might say). We get an addition every few years, while some others have to wait 7+ years. I consider myself lucky to be close to one of those parks that does get that special attention. My friends from Oregon would love to be close to KI, when all they have is Oaks Park and Wild Waves (look them up...I used to go to Oaks Park when I was really little)
  7. I noticed the same things last Monday, too! I wish the staff would be a little bit faster on filling rows, because it really hurts me when I see the back four rows empty while waiting in line. But I guess that's what I get when I go on a weekday.
  8. Cedar Point announced that Siren's Curse will be opening to the public on June 28! I cannot wait to ride this and TT2 later this summer! https://www.cedarpoint.com/rides-experiences/sirens-curse
  9. Is this confirmed or were you just stating what you think is going to happen? I never saw anything but I could have missed it
  10. I saw the fireworks/drone show last night, and it was pretty much the same as years before. But I swear I saw the drones spell out Diamondback, and I thought its anniversary was last year. It was 15 last year, so why did they show the logo? Or am I wrong that they showed Diamondback?
  11. Remember this? Saw the completed flower bell yesterday, which looks good. Not exactly sure when it was finished though. I'm not a huge fan of the green/blue curb around it though, as it doesn't really go well with the dark brown color. Overall, I like it.
  12. I still got mine from 2021...Universal loves their lanyards! There's not a gift shop or little pop-up store that doesn't have one!
  13. From checking wait times for the past week or so and watching TONS of videos from YouTubers, it seems that Universal has been letting more people into Epic Universe. Wait times are getting higher (at least in the park...the app wait times are usually higher than they actually are). From what I've heard, Express does save you lots of time in rides, except for maybe Monsters, which never really has a long line. But, super pricey. I think if you bought one today it would be around $300 for just 10 attractions (all the attractions you can use Express on) Single rider lines are available on most attractions, including: Mine Cart Madness Mariokart: Bowser's Challenge Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment Curse of the Warewolf Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry Stardust Racers Hiccup's Wing Gliders But, some of these single rider lines aren't always open...Battle at the Ministry and Stardust Racers are the two rides that have the single rider line closed most of the time. But those rides that do have single rider the day you go, it saves A TON of time compared to the regular line. Monsters Unchained is not usually a really long line, but the single rider line can be a walk-on sometimes, because there is just no one in the line. But some rides that have a single rider line, the line often skips major parts or all of the queue, which Monsters Unchained has a great queue that you should not miss! Overall, the single rider lines are a great way at Epic to save time!
  14. Memorial Day Weekend is now officially over, and it seems that Universal had an Epic hit with their new theme park. I've seen SO MANY good reviews, but I think that might be because of the EXTREMELY low crowds. Hardly anything gets over an hour except for maybe Ministry (without breakdowns of course). I even heard that crew members of Monsters Unchained were letting people stay on the ride because there was no line! Opening week seemed like a good time to go to Epic, if you could get tickets. I know Universal is very much limiting capacity at Epic, and I am curious to see how long they limit capacity or if they will slowly let more and more people purchase tickets. It seems Universal was very smart about how they attacked the first few opening days of Epic. Small crowds, low waits, and pleased guests (at least for the most part ). Epic Universe is receiving some high praise, and I hope to see that trend continue through June! Also as a side note, I'm glad that Universal was able to get rid of the Virtual Line system for Ministry, as that system didn't work out the greatest. More people are getting to ride it, which is great!
  15. Did anyone get a chance to ride River Racers over the weekend? If so, how was it?
  16. From my experience on water coasters, a little shake here and there is not rare. In fact, it's somewhat common. I remember riding Cheetah Chase at HW when it first opened and it was kind of shaky. Although, I've never seen one of those types of bowls before on water coasters, so that could be it. Not sure though.
  17. I have lots of Made to Thrill posters and love them! They are a little different than the ones you have though...I have Mystic, Diamondback, Orion, Fury 325, TT2, Steel Vengeance, and Maverick for Made to Thrill posters.
  18. Well, opening day at Epic today. From lots of live streams I've been watching from 7:30 this morning, SO many people are trying to get on Battle at the Ministry. Not too long ago, Battle at the Ministry was posted at 300 minutes (5 hours). Meanwhile, Monsters was a walk on an hour ago, and Minecart Madness is only about 25 minutes! It seems everyone is at Ministry
  19. And because it's in a building, we won't necessarily know what is actually going in there. Sure, we may see some track/pieces of a ride, but we probably won't know the layout or anything of that sort until the announcement or some sort of leak/permit happens. I'm really excited to see what is coming, and think this is a good use of that empty space (at least it's not used until Haunt). I think a dark ride would be great for KI, and fills an empty spot that they don't really have, except for maybe Boo Blasters. If we got some interactive dark ride, that would be really cool! It would fit in to the "family thrill attraction" and the Crypt building would be a great space for that. They do already have Boo Blasters, but it's really outdated. If you got rid of Boo Blasters and then put an interactive dark ride in the Crypt building, then that leaves the Boo Blasters building for something less thrilling and more Snoopy-ish. You could theme this interactive dark ride to the Rivertown Mines where you enter the Rivertown Mining Company on a minecart and try to collect gold and diamonds. Or, you could have the minecart go "off track" and the bats (or some other monsters) start attacking you and you have to "blast" them to get rid of them. There are endless possibilities with an interactive dark ride, and would be fun for families to enjoy, while still being thrilling. I wouldn't mind a wild mouse dark ride like The Dark Knight or a spinning ride like Laff Track in darkness like @DJSkyFoxx said. But, I think I prefer the interactive dark ride. We shall just have to wait and see what ends up happening!
  20. They went with green rafts instead of the yellow rafts advertised. I personally think that the yellow rafts would have looked better with the light blue/turquoise side. Also, does anyone know if they will allow single riders to go down the slide, or always two people per raft? I know some places only allow even number riders (2 people in a 2 person raft), and leave odd-numbered families disappointed because they can't ride together or someone has to not ride from their group.
  21. Agreed! There are countless merch places to get stuff for almost every ride there. Plus, it's not all the same stuff in every store. I remember going to CP one time and thought, "I can just get this at the front" only to realize that it wasn't at the front like at KI, but located by Steel Vengeance
  22. Siren's Curse seems to be ahead of schedule, which is great! Testing has already begun, which could mean an earlier than thought opening! I'm guessing the next Siren's Curse Chronicles episode will feature Dave Evans or an executive at Cedar Point riding the ride, similar to TT2. Here's the video link:
  23. I known it's not everyone's favorite ride, but there's only one shirt for Adventure Express that I know of. Bat, Express, FoF, Stunt Coaster, and Invertigo all don't have very many things. Yes, they aren't the most popular rides compared to rides like Diamondback or Mystic, but I feel like they could use some more merch.
  24. Any guesses on what ride this is? I don't really understand the mass advertising for Silver Passes...how many people actually buy these? Everyone I know just gets the Gold Pass
  25. I also grey out occasionally right before the turnaround after the first drop...and for some weird reason I used to grey out during the helix on Orion. But, I've gotten over the grey out after riding it so many times. Doesn't happen much anymore. But I don't judge a ride on how much it makes me grey out, but by how much fun I had and the smile I wear after riding it!
