  1. We're all sad and disappointed in this decision by Six Flags, but we gotta move on. At this point, we should just be excited for the new 2026 ride coming to Great Adventure. Rides have to close, but that usually means that new ones are built. We shouldn't focus on the past, but look forward to the future of theme parks.
  2. Visited last night and it was very empty. Went to Coney and got my favorite side during Winterfest, Corn Souffle! Got two station waits on Mystic, a 5 minute wait on Racer, and about a 25 minute wait on Flight of Cheer. Watched the parade, and had a great night!
  3. Totally agree. Sometimes I'll walk past security and I will overhear new guests saying, "I want to go on that one" (Talking about Invertigo. Some even call it Timberwolf because of that sign after security ) People see those rides at the front, and a brand new one would excite guests greatly. Kings Island needs a standout attraction at the front.
  4. Yes, but Fury and Steel Vengeance still has lots of life left in them. I know at some point, all rides will have to die, but I was saying if they closed it now, everyone would be Furyous. I also understand that The Beast is very expensive to run and maintenance is high, but in my opinion, there is still more life in The Beast. That is why I believe that everyone would be mad if The Beast got removed.
  5. This doesn't really surprise me. Because of the merger, Six Flags has so many parks to operate, and CGA isn't in the top tier. Unfortunately for smaller parks, they don't get the same treatment as the big ones (KI, KD, CP, Magic Mountain).
  6. If The Beast gets removed, Kings Island may never get season passholders ever again. Removing The Beast would be like getting rid of Fury 325 or Steel Vengeance. From a business standpoint, removing The Beast would never be acceptable in Six Flags terms.
  7. These smaller parks cannot afford to lose any rides. Six Flags isn't going to touch any of them unless its an absolute emergency. I think Worlds of Fun is perfectly safe. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.
  8. There are always additions that could be added at Kings Island, but which part of the park do you think needs it the most?
  9. If only Snow Works went this fast...
  10. They didn't really give a date for these closures did they? Also, interesting that Hurler is not on there. I feel its time to get rid of Hurler and not Nighthawk
  11. Oh okay. I was like, what the heck is this for? The Interactive Lantern was in a weird spot and I wasn't sure what to think about it.
  12. What do you guys think this was all about?
  13. It's very concerning how this is following very similar steps to Kingda Ka. It starts out as just a random thought, but then makes its way to a rumor. Then, lots of people start paying attention (like Screamscape). Before you know it, you find documents that prove the rumor true. Everyone waits for the park to make an announcement, but in the meantime, everyone gets their rides in while it's still running. Before you know it, the ride closes forever and fans are furious. Kingda Ka was just the first of many rides to close. The Bat, Invertigo, Congo River Falls, Nighthawk, and hydraulic launch coasters could be following. We are entering a new era for theme parks. Remember to enjoy the park, and have fun. Regardless of what happens. Kings Island will always be a place to have fun and share memories with friends and families. Because of this new norm, you never know if your latest ride will be your last. Enjoy every moment of it.
  14. If they could do something like a smaller scale Revenge of the Mummy or Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida, that would be a great addition. I don't necessarily mean the actual roller coaster part of those rides, but it would be pretty cool to have it be a roller coaster. I meant more of the dark ride sections when the car is travelling slow and going through the show scenes. As for the theme, I would like to see an abandoned mine where you have to escape someone or something, and you could encounter some dynamite or something like that (think of Mystery Mine). There are endless possibilities! Here is an example of a "show scenes" that would work great in the old Crypt building (this is Revenge of the Mummy and Mystery Mine). Combine the two to get an amazing, family thrill, immersive roller coaster experience!
  15. That version was sold 2 years ago I think. Not sure if they are still selling that type.I have one, and I think the design is based off of Fury 325.
  16. That would definitely be an upgrade for Woodstock's Air Rail. I could totally Ki doing something like that. They love Planet/Camp Snoopy
  17. The industry is changing...we are noticing new ways theme parks operate, and we just have to adjust. Unfortunately, I'm noticing that no-warning closures may be the future for amusement parks. Also, more reliable coasters are taking over coasters like Ka (this means more Vekoma and B&M), and launch/family coasters are now the rave for theme parks.
  18. Welcome to KIC @coastergoblin!!! Hope to see you in the park!
  19. I'm headed to Carowinds after Christmas to go for Winterfest and some more rides on Fury. I have yet to ride Nighthawk because it was closed the first time I went. Hopefully I can snag a ride on it before more rides start closing so that I can say I rode it and get the credit. Which is rougher: Nighthawk or Invertigo?
  20. I strongly believe that Kings Island will continue to receive new additions. The parks that will be receiving these additions are CP, KI, KD, Carowinds, Canada's Wonderland, Knotts, Magic Mounntain, Great Adventure, and maybe Over Texas. Six Flags (Cedar Fair) takes pride in KI, and I have no doubt they will fail to give KI more additions in the future. Who knows what these additions may be, but I am sure that KI will receive at least something.
  21. We all love this time of year at Kings Island when the Eiffel Tower becomes a giant Christmas tree. We also enjoy lots of activities to participate in all night long leading up to Christmas. But my question to you is: which Winterfest activity do you enjoy most?
  22. Who knows if that's actually true. They could be just getting a new one. On the other hand, it does make sense to get rid of it. Congo Falls is one of three water rides at KI, so they don't really need it for that purpose. It's also down a lot of the time, so it's not very operational friendly. And on top of that, I don't ever see a really long line for it, so I would assume that it's not the most popular ride among guests. I just hope that if they remove Congo Falls, they also remove Invertigo. Let's face it: Invertigo is rough, and not too many people actually come off saying, "let's ride again!". Taking out these two and replacing them would give KI a lot of room for a future attraction. You could have the ride sit right next to the parking lot and entrance and it would look pretty good for guests waking up to the park and getting excited.
  23. Ok, but KI also has Diamondback which CP does not have a great hyper. Look at KD. They're getting Rapterra, which is probably going to be better than GateKeeper. Fury 325 at Carowinds is probably the best giga, so its not like other Cedar Fair/Six Flags parks don't get new and thrilling additions.Yes, I agree that Cedar Point gets more additions, but its not like other parks get left out. And I know I keep saying this but after all, it is really all about business.
  24. Ka's removal was not because of Cedar Fair wanting to become king, it's all about business. From a business/maintenance standpoint, the ride wasn't reliable and very expensive for the company. Cedar Fair (Six Flags) is just making the business move to get rid of this expensive coaster. It stinks to lose Ka, but Cedar Fair didn't want to pay for Ka anymore.
