Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Diamondback_Is_King replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
You forgot about No Ice Water Lake! And then when the ride is over and you exit through the gift shop (assuming it's open of course) you'll have a chance to buy your very own SIX stock! -
2026 Gold pass good for all parks
Diamondback_Is_King replied to Winterfestguy's topic in Kings Island
I edited it after realizing that this was in fact for the 2025 season passes, not 2026 My bad 2026 KI MVP Sale starts July 31 https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2025/07/25/kings-island-season-pass-all-six-flags-amusement-parks/85361124007/ -
What’s Dollywood up to?
Diamondback_Is_King replied to brenthodge's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Dollywood beat Universal to the rocking boat ride Anyway, I would absolutely LOVE a rocking boat ride! Looking at pieces of track from Mission Bermudes and Dollywood's new track, they look almost IDENTICAL! Dollywood has the potential to make this THE BEST ride at Dollywood and possibly even better than Epic Universe's rides! If the queue is amazing as well, they could really put Dollywood on the map along with Disney, Universal, Seaworld, and Legacy Cedar Fair Parks! (okay, I exaggerate a little, but still. It could be AMAZING!) Very excited! -
What’s Dollywood up to?
Diamondback_Is_King replied to brenthodge's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Thanks for the update @brenthodge! I'm really hyped for this new Dollywood ride! IMO, I think it will be some sort of boat ride/coaster similar to Journey to Atlantis at Seaworld Orlando. Is that powered track? It doesn't look like it but not sure. That doesn't look like any manufacturer track I know, Dollywood might be working with multiple companies to bring this ride to life. I'm really confused from the teasers because it is both "taking flight" and "taking a plunge". I will be following this project very closely the next few weeks to see when we might find more clues. When do you think Dollywood will announce this new ride? Here's a video by Attraction Ideas about what could possibly be going on here. I know his ideas are a little far-fetched sometimes, but I found this video quite interesting: -

Obviously for the ground-up RMC that is coming! -
Kings Island to add “family thrill” attraction in 2026
Diamondback_Is_King replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I wouldn't be surprised if we got an announcement in late August early September. I think the new attraction will be in the Crypt building and be a non-roller coaster attraction. It's unclear what's actually going to happen and until we actually see work being done (which we may not see if its in the Crypt building), I'm not gonna waste my time making pointless predictions I could see them doing this, but is this a "family thrill attraction"? I would love to see Boo Blasters revamped, especially if it was something less out of place like the current ride. But if they do revamp Boo Blasters, I only want one thing from KI. One thing. Don't care about the rest, just please please please give us Blasters that actually work!!! Every time I attempt to play, I just get angry at the dang blaster and quit. I feel like I'm being rage-baited. Anyway, give us some decent blasters that actually give you points when your blaster is two feet in front of the target and I'll be happy. Another thing I'd like to see done with Boo Blasters is if they added screens to the ride. Even better: interactive screens where you shoot moving targets. If KI demoed the old omnimover ride system and replaced it with a new shooting ride vehicle, I think they could qualify it as a "family thrill attraction" and it would be a worthy replacement of Boo Blasters. Would a new ride system be realistic at all? And would they be able to do all that during the off-season? -
The reason I like Iron Gwazi better than SteVe is because of its pacing. Steel Vengeance is great, and it is so amazing until it hits the breaks, which the ride becomes good instead of amazing. It starts slowing down a bit, and the elements under the track seem a little repetitive. But Iron Gwazi has no mid-course, so it can tear through the layout like a freaking monster without stopping until hitting the brakes. That is why I like Iron Gwazi better. Now time to get back on topic! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rip Ride Rocket as some of you may know closes on August 18. People have been speculating on what could replace RRR. Permits show and Intamin launch coaster of some kind, but the theme of the ride is unknown. Construction walls over in New York by the old Ghostbusters firehouse (just past Jimmy Fallon) have gone up, and some interesting signage has been posted on the wall by Universal. The first sign that is a reference to Ghostbusters that says they are "restoring Historic Engine 89 Firehouse". This sign was the first one and was for about a week or two. But then two more signs came up just a couple of days ago! The second one is a reference to Back to the Future. Finally the last one is a little unclear. There's a phone number posted on the sign and the area code 213 is LA. But what gives it away for me is the font and color of the writing. This sign definitely teases Fast and Furious. So this is all fine, but what does it actually all mean? Universal teased 3 IP's, so which one will replace Rockit? Will there be multiple attractions in that Rockit plot? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Also work on the ground has already begun, and they have been working behind Rockit and just to the right of Hard Rock Cafe. What are your thoughts?

They should have added on-ride cameras for RiverRacers. It would add a little something to the ride. But then again, they could have done lots to make this ride better and didn't. They should add the type of automatic cameras that Epic uses, where you tap a button on the screen and it takes your picture. Then you scan a QR code to buy the picture. No staff, easy money. Definitely something KI should look into. You could put a camera in front of the Tower or something similar.

I don't think more people taking pictures is not a good idea. They can't even get staff to work at all the food places. FunPix is what it is, and people will pay for it if they really want it

Kings Island Halloween Haunt 2025 Discussion
Diamondback_Is_King replied to Losantiville Mining Co.'s topic in Kings Island
While I am not a huge Haunt guy, I try to make it out there twice every season. I am excited this year, and look forward to what is coming this next season. I love the fog, lights, and sometimes the music (it can get repetitive). But...not really looking forward to the long lines. I'm going to try and get lots of rides in the coming months before Haunt season starts. But overall, looking forward to this fun and scary time of the year! -
Now it makes sense. Thanks for the clarification!

2026 Gold pass good for all parks
Diamondback_Is_King replied to Winterfestguy's topic in Kings Island
"Benefit may vary by park" - This will be very interesting... I'm curious what the prices are for these new passes and if they will end up costing more. Then maybe the Silver Pass will become the old gold pass for just one park? Also, looks like you get two single use Fast Lanes with the pass, but you can't use it during Haunt and it excludes Alpenfury -
Why would parties entering the single rider line be bad if they were okay with splitting up? When I go to Universal or Disney we all enter the single rider line because we don't mind splitting up. It's a great way to save time if you don't care about splitting up. We always did single rider for Smuggler's Run unless we were with other people who wanted to go in standby. It was never longer than 5 minutes. And if the line ever got too long, the attendant at the front would close the line. I'm not sure if I understand your statement.

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Diamondback_Is_King replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
The problem is, they don't care about KI because they don't pay a lot for passes. That's why so many people only go once with a pass. They don't care if the price goes up, because someone buys it for them. People who get Disney passes don't stand up on rides or jump fences to get their belongings or steal drinks because they know Disney could take away their passes. The first time I went to Disneyland a man stood up on Big Thunder and was banned for life...until pass prices go up or there is some sort of consequence, people won't care a single bit. People only think about themselves and are really selfish. That's who they are, and that's who they care about! People don't think about the consequences anymore. They will keep stealing until something is done, which nothing ever will be done. And like mentioned above, KI must not care that much, or something would have been done already. -
That's exactly what I get lol! Couldn't agree more. GO HERE!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: these suggestions were when TT2 was down and Siren's Curse wasn't there I'll break it down for you so you don't have to read an essay lol: Get there for Early Entry and maybe even before that. Early entry is a perfect opportunity to get lots of rides in. REMEMBER: Early Entry at CP is an hour, not 20 minutes like KI. Early Entry coasters are GateKeeper, Millie, and Iron Dragon. As soon as they let you in, get to GateKeeper. We rode it two or three times because it was a walk on. Recommend left-side back row or right-side front row After your two or three GateKeeper rides, walk fast to Millie. Pass Iron Dragon. Not that great, not worth the ERT. We got two rides in on Millie, but it depends on how fast you walk. You want to be done with Millie between 9:30-9:45. After Millie, you now should have 4-6 rides done (3 GateKeeper, 2 Millie for me). After that, again walk fast to Maverick and wait for it to open. Ride Maverick twice, and head over to Steel Vengeance. Ride that twice if the line isn't long. After Steel Vengeance we had 9 rides done by 10:30! We needed some water after that lol And then after Steel Vengeance, maybe do a Magnum ride or Cedar Creek Mine Ride if you want. Your early morning execution was a success if you made it this far! We did it one Friday morning (May 17 of last year) and did everything I just listed. After this, it's up to you on what you want to do next. The lines will be longer at this point, but the lines are usually worth it for these world-class roller coasters. Now this doesn't account for TT2 or Siren's Curse. I haven't been there this year yet, so does someone know what has higher capacity TT2 or Siren's Curse? I'd probably say you have three options after riding Millie for ERT: Do what I did before TT2 or Siren's Curse and head to Maverick/Steel Vengeance. They get really long lines, get them out of the way first Head over to TT2 and try and get on that just as the park opens. The ride tends to break down a lot, so getting on it early can be good. BUT-you run the risk of it not being open right at 10:00 kinda like FoF at KI. It's a high-risk high-reward situation. The same could be said for going to Siren's Curse. Somewhat lower capacity. They're still working out the kinks and the maintenance issues.Unreliable just like TT2 at the moment. Once again, high-risk high-reward. You won't be the only one going here though. If you do decide to go to Siren's Curse or TT2 after Millie, I'd recommend riding the other next. There's no point in running back to Maverick or Steel Vengeance, the people have already gotten back there. You'll have to wait it out on those lines. Hope you have a great trip, and let me know if you have any further questions!

Kings Island General Discussion 2025
Diamondback_Is_King replied to Klabergian Empire's topic in Kings Island
I've heard about and seen these collapsible cups and really like the idea. I'm definitely bringing one down when I go to Epic later this summer. It is too bad though that people justify stealing. "It's just a Coke, no big deal!" If everyone says that, it is a big deal. And here we are... -
@RollerColt-Loved to hear your experience! I will be up there in August for the first time (to Epic) and I can't wait! I will be at the other parks, but I've been to them so many times (40 times roughly in one year. I used to have a season pass when I lived in Florida). Couple of questions if you don't mind me asking: 1. Which food places did you enjoy most at Epic? 2. What was your favorite ride? 3. Did you participate in Early Entry for Epic? What did you do first and how did it go? 4. Weird question: What time did the park close when you visited Epic? If it was at 9:00, did some of the rides stay open until 10:00?
-
@BeeastFarmer that is correct. ERT at KI is different from Soak City. I've been 3 times for ERT this year and the whole park has always been open. You then go to one of the ERT rides and show your pass. They see it, then let you in line for the ride. What @CartersCoasters is referring to is the line up of regular people outside a ride waiting until 10:00. They should not have been blocking the pathway for passholders, so that would be the fault of the crew member working for not moving them out of the way
