  1. Wow, I had no idea it would be that intense. Thanks for sharing! Me personally, I would never do this because I'm a little bit of a chicken when it comes to this stuff
  2. It had been a little over a year since my last trip to CP. I had not ridden TT2 or Siren's Curse before this visit, so I was very excited for both of them! Our original plan was to go Thursday (less crowds) but the forecast looked SUPER wet and rainy. Good thing we didn't go that day, as everything was closed most of the day. So we decided on Friday, which the weather was super nice that day. We figured it would be a little bit busier, since it was Friday, but I had looked at ThrillData times the Friday before and saw that the lines were pretty good. So at 6:00 we rolled out of our house and started the 3hr 15min drive. Originally, my family was going to buy day passes to CP, but when the MVP sale came out they decided to get the passes for CP since it was cheaper (there were some drawbacks to this such as pass perks, but they were okay with it. Then they would have KI passes next year as well because it was the all-park pass they got). I already had a pass to KI, so I renewed for KI and assumed I would get in at CP. My assumption was correct, even if the description said otherwise, but the whole thing is super confusing. Anyway, I got in so it doesn't really matter. We arrived at 9:10, and got into the park fine. The day was very interesting to say the least. I'll break down my Trip Report piece by piece: EPA (Early Park Admission-EPA rides are GateKeeper, Millennium Force, and Iron Dragon. We got in the park at around 9:15 or so and headed for GateKeeper. We waited around 10 minutes. Then, we headed for Millennium Force. While walking across the midway, we saw TT2 was running with people on it. I thought that was strange because I hadn't heard or saw TT2 being a EPA ride. After looking it up just now, it is still not listed on the website as an EPA ride. But it did seem like some people knew about it. Anyway, we waited about 15 minutes or so for Millie. They were only running 2 trains. Red train was being worked on. A Rough But Fun Start-When we got off, it was around 10:10 and we decided to do Siren's Curse since it was right there. The line didn't look too long, and the person up front said 45-60 minutes. I thought that wasn't bad at all. So we got in and let me just say the whole ride and queue looks really cool from the outside. The way you can see the entire coaster, the tilt, the water effects, and even the queue was somewhat cool. So we waited about 25 minutes to get halfway through and.........the ride broke down. It may have not gotten stuck on the tilt, but it was a LONG delay. The ride finally got up and running again after 8 test runs. I thought for a second, "Maybe the media is right. Maybe this ride is problematic" It only went down one other time that day. Anyway, what should have been a 50 minute wait was 95 minutes. The operations were great on this ride, but the breakdown was a big part of the wait. So we got past the lockers after having to wait for a guy to go through the metal detector THREE different times because of things in his pocket and got to the station. We got put in the middle, which was disappointing, but I was all for getting on after 95 minutes. Siren's Curse Review: Ok. That 95 minutes might have been worth it after all. That ride is so freaking good! The ride is short, and it's not super tall or fast. But, oh my word that on-board audio. By far the best part of the ride. I would rate the ride 7 out of 10 without the audio (maybe on-par with Valravn or GateKeeper) but with the audio, this ride goes to a 9 out of 10! After the ride, I said it was better than Maverick. Today, I'm not sure. It's pretty close with Maverick. The tilt element was super fun, but the reason the ride is so good is the audio. When going up the lift and hearing the crackling and the Siren's lure I was like, "oh this is WAY better than Rip Ride Rockit" . Then when we started tilting and I heard, "prepare to meet your doom!!!" and we dropped and I heard the rock music, it was great! So much fun! A long wait, but worth it for the first time on that ride for me. By now it was like 11:35 A Long Day-After a fun ride on Siren's Curse we headed for food. I didn't eat, but the rest of my family did. So while they got food, I grabbed a table. We were a party of 5, and I got a table with 6 chairs. While I was sitting there, a dad and his son just sit down at this table without saying anything or even looking at me. They just plopped down and acted like they could just sit there if they wanted to. Then seconds later the rest of their family (total of 6 people) sat down around me and stared at me like I was the outsider that sat down next to them. I was like "whatever, I don't want to pick a fight" and moved to another open table. After lunch we checked to see how long Valravn was and to our surprise it said 80 minutes. So we decided we would come back later. Instead, we wanted to get on TT2 since we had never done it before. We entered the line and that's when I realized how many people were actually in the park. If CP was broke on Friday morning, I swear they would be billionaires by the end of the day. There were SO MANY Fast Lane people. Like we were counting how many times each person rode TT2. Because there was no line for the Fast Lane, they just kept coming back in line. It was ridiculous. I've never seen that may Fast Lane people at a park ever. We waited an hour for TT2 and it was super fun! I think I might like Siren's Curse just a bit more. Then we went and checked out Maverick, which was posted at like 75 minutes. We waited about that. It was fun, glad we did it then because it broke down later. But while we were in line for Maverick, a big group of teenage boys at the very top of the stairs right before you scan your Fast Lane move from the Fast Lane line to the standby. Clearly they didn't want to wait in line with everyone else and waited in the Fast Lane until the switch over point. Then we looked at SteVe and saw it was at 120 minutes and decided to see if it went down later. So then we went and did Magnum which was a 20 minute wait. After Magnum we did TT2 again but this time it was about 75 minutes. By then it was past dinner time and we hoped the crowds would die down...they did not. So we went and did Valravn and waited about 65 minutes. But while we were in line, that same group of kids from Maverick were there and one of them cut to "catch up with their friend". When the group entered the line, they said, "oh heck no. This line is long. Where do you think we can cut?" KI isn't the only one with this issue. Anyway, rode Valravn and it was 8:45 at this point. A Tough Decision-SteVe was a 90 minute wait and so was Siren's Curse. Both of them we wanted to do, but could only do one. Technically, we could have done both, but it would have been an even later night. Plus, some of us wanted to get merch too from certain places and there was no guarantee that they would still be open around 11:00. We were already by Siren's Curse, so we decided to do that a second time and skip Steel Vengeance, which was unfortunate. But, I did get to do a night ride of Siren's Curse, which is what I was hoping for. But I was confused as to why the person up front said it was 90 minutes. The line was just one switchback longer than when we rode it the first time, and it wasn't down, so I didn't understand why it was so long of a wait. I looked over to the locker area and finally understood why the line was listed so high... The Epic Night Ride-...The Fast Lane was SO BACKED UP! Everybody and their mother came to ride this at night with Fast Lane. The line was so long, they had to open up switchbacks, for the Fast Lane!!! But I knew I wasn't going to get another ride in anyway, so I enjoyed the time in the queue. And I didn't totally mind the wait, because the longer we waited the darker it got. By the time we were halfway through the line, it was dark and the lights were on the trains. The light package is super cool on Siren's Curse, and I love how it changes throughout the layout. When you leave the station it's green but when the train gets "cursed" and the track tilts, the lights turn red. And then when you come out of the tunnel, the lights turn back to green. Very cool. It was fun seeing the park from the top of the ride as well. I wouldn't say it felt any faster or it was a super amazing night ride, though. You could have as much fun during the day. It's more about the visuals outside the train. Besides, you can't see the lighting when your riding. So when I go back, I would choose something else for my night ride. Probably SteVe or TT2. Anyway, loved the ride and got off and headed out. Another fun day at CP. The only thing that was a little disappointing was that basically all the rides were at least over an hour. Parking was a nightmare leaving. Here was my ride count for the day: GateKeeper-1 Siren's Curse-2 TT2-2 Maverick-1 Magnum-1 Millie-1 Conclusion/Rankings-A very fun time at Cedar Point as always, and enjoyed riding two new rides! Here are my new rankings for CP: 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Maverick 3. Siren's Curse 4.Top Thrill 2 5. Millie or GateKeeper
  3. I went to KI last Tuesday evening and had a walk-on for every ride except FoF. All the sudden MVP sale comes out and the parks are PACKED. The nice weather has contributed to that a little, but like you said, everyone wants to get use out of their brand new shiny pass. It'll be crowded until school starts back up. Everyone's getting their last trips in before school starts. I'll explain some of the stuff I noticed at CP in my Trip Report
  4. Yes, I renewed my KI season pass without activating it at KI and they asked no questions and I was good to go once I scanned my pass Stay tuned for my CP Trip Report
  5. It's very unclear. The KI phone people were no help. I'm renewing my Gold Pass and headed to CP tomorrow, so I can't imagine they would refuse me entry. After all, our Gold Passes are good for the rest of the year because of the previous pass. So yes, I think it does just apply to a new Gold Pass. Are you looking at 2025 or 2026 dining plans? I'll quote myself from earlier: "The 2026 season pass dining plans are able to be used in 2025, but only at the park you buy it from until January 2026. Then in 2026 you can use it at any park" Does that answer your question? You may be looking at the upgrade itself which is significantly lower than the actual meal plan. Which you would have to get the regular meal plan before getting the upgrade. But there is a dining plan available for $155 that includes the dining plan for 2025 at your home park and 2026 at all Six Flags parks. Hope that helps!
  6. That's good! I don't personally use it, but glad others can benefit from it!
  7. The 2026 season pass dining plans are able to be used in 2025, but only at the park you buy it from until January 2026. Then in 2026 you can use it at any park
  8. It's got it's own thread too. Beat you to it by a few minutes
  9. For pass add-ons, the all season dining is $135 at your home park, and $155 for the all-park dining. And for drink plans, it's $37 for regular paper cups and $54 for the ICEE and hot chocolate. I also just heard from KI that the pass perks can only be used and redeemed by the park that you bought your ticket from (your home park)
  10. The Six Flags MVP is now on sale! This offer is good through September 1st. The passes are good through the rest of this year and next year. I'm curious why Cedar Point passes are more expensive than Kings Island to get a new pass. But what prevents someone from buying a pass that is cheaper than KI? Well, you must activate your pass at the park you buy it from.
  11. It's funny that all the attention is at Siren's Curse right now. It's like everyone forgot about the big giant lawn ornament. Siren's Curse is sitting at 82% uptime and it's problematic neighbor is sitting at 62%. Siren's Curse isn't even at the bottom either. Rides like Rise of the Resistance had more problems when it opened than Siren's Curse is having right now. But you didn't see anyone making a big deal about it. I could care less, and I'm excited to ride it soon!
  12. Nope because they decide the day of when to sell it and no one knows when they'll sell it!
  13. You forgot about No Ice Water Lake! And then when the ride is over and you exit through the gift shop (assuming it's open of course) you'll have a chance to buy your very own SIX stock!
  14. I edited it after realizing that this was in fact for the 2025 season passes, not 2026 My bad 2026 KI MVP Sale starts July 31 https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2025/07/25/kings-island-season-pass-all-six-flags-amusement-parks/85361124007/
  15. Dollywood beat Universal to the rocking boat ride Anyway, I would absolutely LOVE a rocking boat ride! Looking at pieces of track from Mission Bermudes and Dollywood's new track, they look almost IDENTICAL! Dollywood has the potential to make this THE BEST ride at Dollywood and possibly even better than Epic Universe's rides! If the queue is amazing as well, they could really put Dollywood on the map along with Disney, Universal, Seaworld, and Legacy Cedar Fair Parks! (okay, I exaggerate a little, but still. It could be AMAZING!) Very excited!
  16. Thanks for the update @brenthodge! I'm really hyped for this new Dollywood ride! IMO, I think it will be some sort of boat ride/coaster similar to Journey to Atlantis at Seaworld Orlando. Is that powered track? It doesn't look like it but not sure. That doesn't look like any manufacturer track I know, Dollywood might be working with multiple companies to bring this ride to life. I'm really confused from the teasers because it is both "taking flight" and "taking a plunge". I will be following this project very closely the next few weeks to see when we might find more clues. When do you think Dollywood will announce this new ride? Here's a video by Attraction Ideas about what could possibly be going on here. I know his ideas are a little far-fetched sometimes, but I found this video quite interesting:
  17. Glad to hear your opinion! I'm almost 100% sure that it wasn't a typo. It's really too early to tell what might be coming next
  18. I wouldn't be surprised if we got an announcement in late August early September. I think the new attraction will be in the Crypt building and be a non-roller coaster attraction. It's unclear what's actually going to happen and until we actually see work being done (which we may not see if its in the Crypt building), I'm not gonna waste my time making pointless predictions I could see them doing this, but is this a "family thrill attraction"? I would love to see Boo Blasters revamped, especially if it was something less out of place like the current ride. But if they do revamp Boo Blasters, I only want one thing from KI. One thing. Don't care about the rest, just please please please give us Blasters that actually work!!! Every time I attempt to play, I just get angry at the dang blaster and quit. I feel like I'm being rage-baited. Anyway, give us some decent blasters that actually give you points when your blaster is two feet in front of the target and I'll be happy. Another thing I'd like to see done with Boo Blasters is if they added screens to the ride. Even better: interactive screens where you shoot moving targets. If KI demoed the old omnimover ride system and replaced it with a new shooting ride vehicle, I think they could qualify it as a "family thrill attraction" and it would be a worthy replacement of Boo Blasters. Would a new ride system be realistic at all? And would they be able to do all that during the off-season?
  19. We all knew that Siren's Curse would have issues with it's tilt from the beginning. It's just a matter of how LONG these issues last. That's where TT2 was deemed problematic-when it shut down for nearly a year. But I'm not worried about Siren's Curse. I'm hoping to head up there next Monday!
  20. The reason I like Iron Gwazi better than SteVe is because of its pacing. Steel Vengeance is great, and it is so amazing until it hits the breaks, which the ride becomes good instead of amazing. It starts slowing down a bit, and the elements under the track seem a little repetitive. But Iron Gwazi has no mid-course, so it can tear through the layout like a freaking monster without stopping until hitting the brakes. That is why I like Iron Gwazi better. Now time to get back on topic! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rip Ride Rocket as some of you may know closes on August 18. People have been speculating on what could replace RRR. Permits show and Intamin launch coaster of some kind, but the theme of the ride is unknown. Construction walls over in New York by the old Ghostbusters firehouse (just past Jimmy Fallon) have gone up, and some interesting signage has been posted on the wall by Universal. The first sign that is a reference to Ghostbusters that says they are "restoring Historic Engine 89 Firehouse". This sign was the first one and was for about a week or two. But then two more signs came up just a couple of days ago! The second one is a reference to Back to the Future. Finally the last one is a little unclear. There's a phone number posted on the sign and the area code 213 is LA. But what gives it away for me is the font and color of the writing. This sign definitely teases Fast and Furious. So this is all fine, but what does it actually all mean? Universal teased 3 IP's, so which one will replace Rockit? Will there be multiple attractions in that Rockit plot? I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Also work on the ground has already begun, and they have been working behind Rockit and just to the right of Hard Rock Cafe. What are your thoughts?
  21. They should have added on-ride cameras for RiverRacers. It would add a little something to the ride. But then again, they could have done lots to make this ride better and didn't. They should add the type of automatic cameras that Epic uses, where you tap a button on the screen and it takes your picture. Then you scan a QR code to buy the picture. No staff, easy money. Definitely something KI should look into. You could put a camera in front of the Tower or something similar.
  22. I don't think more people taking pictures is not a good idea. They can't even get staff to work at all the food places. FunPix is what it is, and people will pay for it if they really want it
  23. Iron Gwazi is my all-time fav, so I'm sure you'll love it. Ride it in the back row, it's the best. Front is good as well
