  1. To me, it looks like a pirate theme inside. I would enjoy a pirate-themed haunted house similar to the "Hooked" haunted area. But if it is the Conjuring House theme, then I guess prates are out. But I would like a pirate-themed house vs just a haunted area. Not sure how pirates would fit in to the building or the surrounding area theme.
  2. For somebody who doesn't watch horror movies or isn't into the super scary stuff, can someone explain what kind of theme this haunted house might be? We have aliens, abandoned hotel and grocery store, slaughterhouse, wax museum, and corn maze/scarecrow. What is this new theme going to be? Also @SPONGEBOB_FAN_97- do you have any source that says this rumor is true, or are you just "sure" based on your own reasoning. I hadn't heard this before, so I was just curious if you had any source to back up your claim.
  3. At least they spelled it "Kings Island" and not "King's Island"
  4. I personally really like everything from Coney BBQ The pulled pork is my new favorite there (it was the Rotisserie Chicken) I really like that Coney BBQ gives you lots of food, too. Call me a biggie or whatever, but I want to make the most of my money and I LOVE BBQ food...I've already paid off my meal plan. Now for whatever reason, my stomach has never rejected Coney BBQ in my 20+ times going there. But, I know lots of people who don't do well after eating there.
  5. He actually didn't have a "I've ridden The Beast ____ times!" shirt, but a regular park-sold Beast shirt. The shirt he normally wears was probably dirty If anyone were to take a wild guess, how many times do you think he actually has ridden The Beast?
  6. Couldn't agree more! Fries have the potential to be amazing! Tater tots not so much. They should just steal some of Potato Works fries into Brewhouse and serve those! Combine the greatest snack with Brewhouse makes for a new popular restaurant!
  7. Very sure it was open. I took this picture at 2:46 (it wasn't a great picture so I didn't post it at first) As for Rick Purdy, that's definitely the guy I talked to. Now that you and @Tr0y say this, I can definitely see how he is an attention seeker. Anyway, I did some quick math, and here is what I came up with: Assuming you rode The Beast 43,002 times, from 1979 to today, you would have to visit every operating day of the year every year (average 150 days per season) and ride the ride 5 times every visit. To have that kind of patience, it takes a special person to be willing to wait that many times. Even if you loved The Beast, you wear down after a while. So lets talk wait times: assuming you rode The Beast 43,002 times and waited an average of 30 minutes (probably could be higher) then he would have spent over 2 years of his life riding The Beast!!! The probability of this number of rides being legit is 0%. It's not likely at all. But he has ridden it more than me and is passionate about the ride so that's cool. I just wouldn't lie to others about how many times I've ridden the ride though.
  8. Had a Pub Burger today, tasted fine. Still wished they served fries instead of tater tots, but whatever. I'll still eat them
  9. It reopened today at about 11:00 I visited today, and went for ERT Orion. No lines as usual, and waited a short time for FoF. Lines were pretty short in the morning, but a lot of stuff went down halfway through the day. The ended up reopening by 2:00 though. One of the highlights of my visit today was meeting a man in The Beast line that had ridden it 43,002 (that's what I thought I heard, but that sounded unusually high to me). He showed me a picture of him being a part of building The Beast, and told me he made $25 an hour to help build The Beast! Anyone know his name? I couldn't remember. I had to smile after my visit with him, because I love people that have so much passion for roller coasters like I do. Good overall visit though!
  10. Hopefully smooth sailing until Siren's Curse opening...and hopefully smooth sailing after the opening, too. If Siren's Curse experiences lots of breakdowns, that would hurt Cedar Point a lot.
  11. I heard that there was a crack found somewhere on the vertical spike. It's Fury 325 all over again...this is not good. Well, I guess you could consider this an early Christmas present from Cedar Point!
  12. I love the idea of more water in Rivertown! Something like cascading waterfalls in Celestial Park at Epic Universe (obviously not as large) would be a great addition!
  13. Agreed. KIC is supposed to be about community, not about tearing each other down by insulting other's opinions. Being respectful of others and their opinions, that's the way it should be.
  14. I love visiting Cedar Point especially since its only 3 hours away from me...I would never wish for TT2 to go away
  15. The spike is the new part of the ride. If they are having problems with less than a year old track, I don't know what to tell you!
  16. I would rather have TT2 than no TT2... Anyway, does anyone know why it's been down?
  17. Do you really think you'll get some theming? I hate to be real, but Kings Island doesn't care about one guest and what they want (sorry if that came across rude, didn't mean to ). Unless you have some close connection, you're probably not gonna get anything (sorry)
  18. I knew it was closed last Monday. Not sure if it was closed before then
  19. I used to live in Oregon and Washington when I was a little kid, so it's always fun to hear from someone who knows what Wild Waves is! Fun fact: Wild Thing was my very first legit coaster and my first upside down roller coaster. When we got back into the station, they asked if we wanted to go again, and to raise our hands if you wanted to get off. So, I raised my hand after being scared the first time, but my dad put it back down. So I rode it again and loved it, thus beginning my love for roller coasters! (Although I would say my first visit to KI was when I became an enthusiast) Unfortunately, the Northwest isn't the greatest place to be a coaster fan, as there aren't that many parks around. But there are a few good ones around the area that people from the East Coast don't normally go to. My favorite from the Northwest is Silverwood! It's about a 4hr 45min drive from Seattle. I haven't ever made it down to the California parks (I wish I've been to Magic Mountain) except for Disneyland. Odd question for you @johnjniehaus: Will you still root for your sports teams in Ohio, or root for your new local sports teams in Seattle? I still root for the Seahawks (although it's hard to root for them ) but also root for the Bengals here in Ohio. Except for when they play each other (very rare though) I root for the Seahawks. So excited for you and your new home! I used to love the trees and nature as a little kid, and still would love to revisit today. The best of luck to you!
  20. I do think that Kings Island should take into account what the public thinks on certain things, but if Kings Island listened to every single guest, there would be no rides. Everyone has their opinion, and there will always be someone who disagrees with the actions taken. As for what will replace TR:TR or Vortex, I would just be glad to get a new addition in those plots. Better to get a ride than no ride at all. I get old rides are fun and memorable and when they go away its sad. I never got to ride Dragster or Ka which makes me a little sad, but I look towards the positives. TT2 is a pretty good replacement for Dragster even after the year-long closure, and is more reliable when it's open than Dragster was. I also look forward to the new replacement of Ka, and hope it is a great thrill coaster! In the end, there are other things to life than theme parks and roller coasters. Every time I go to KI, I enjoy it to it's fullest. I have fun with friends and family and love all of what I would call the world-class roller coasters I get to ride there! Kind of like what @DJSkyFoxx said, instead of focusing on the past, look into the bright future ahead for KI. I'm just glad my home park isn't Six Flags America and is one of the parks that SIX cares about (despite what some might say). We get an addition every few years, while some others have to wait 7+ years. I consider myself lucky to be close to one of those parks that does get that special attention. My friends from Oregon would love to be close to KI, when all they have is Oaks Park and Wild Waves (look them up...I used to go to Oaks Park when I was really little)
  21. I noticed the same things last Monday, too! I wish the staff would be a little bit faster on filling rows, because it really hurts me when I see the back four rows empty while waiting in line. But I guess that's what I get when I go on a weekday.
  22. Cedar Point announced that Siren's Curse will be opening to the public on June 28! I cannot wait to ride this and TT2 later this summer! https://www.cedarpoint.com/rides-experiences/sirens-curse
  23. Is this confirmed or were you just stating what you think is going to happen? I never saw anything but I could have missed it
  24. I saw the fireworks/drone show last night, and it was pretty much the same as years before. But I swear I saw the drones spell out Diamondback, and I thought its anniversary was last year. It was 15 last year, so why did they show the logo? Or am I wrong that they showed Diamondback?
  25. Remember this? Saw the completed flower bell yesterday, which looks good. Not exactly sure when it was finished though. I'm not a huge fan of the green/blue curb around it though, as it doesn't really go well with the dark brown color. Overall, I like it.
