CF made a mistake buying Paramount?
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
^Six Flags probably didnt even attempt a bid, from their previous attempts any ways they werent really interested in all of the parks, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, U.S. Bank was one of the other bidders I think. Cant remember for sure. -

Couch should just make it an amusement park again and open it up, keep the curious out. -

Could he not walk 10 feet to his left to the bench under neath the tree? I hope security got that hoodlum and disposed of him properly! Great TR Adam and great pics as always, you are hands down one of the best amusement park photographers around, always finding unique angles not featured on other sites. Everyone visit www.klockster.com and check out his gallery, all done with a small Kodak camera. Sorry I couldnt join you that day, i was in the studio with combat stupendous. -
It still has most of the original PTC horses that this year are 80 years old, the paint on theme is great, they still have the original PTC logos and initials on each hand painted one. The music box sounds great. The thing looks fine, what were you smoking? I have some pictures, I took my niece on it the other day.

Went to Sea World/ Anyone been to Wild Adventures?
Gordon Bombay replied to king_cobra_27's topic in Trip Reports
Stuff like animal abuse, even back then, would nt be able to be covered up that well, if what KB is saying or heard rather is true, then I think it would be more well known. No offense KB. -
^Quitre the contrary, when done correctly, the theme of a ride can make the ride. I dont think you realize how theming is ued on rides and its used pretyt much all rides. Theming can be almost anything. Take the forgotten tiques for example, put them on a concrete slap with nothing around them and its just like driving a regular car, boring. But theme them to the time of the century when the automobile was firs t coming out with a nice themed landscape featuring covered bridges and ponds then you have a nice relaxed setting that makes you feel like your in another time while you ride.

Went to Sea World/ Anyone been to Wild Adventures?
Gordon Bombay replied to king_cobra_27's topic in Trip Reports
With all due respect, wheres your proof of that? Good TR King_Cobra_27! I went to Sea World Orlando for the first time back in 2004 but wasnt too thrilled with it. Its a well run park that looks beautiful and has great employees. The side across the bridge where you have the pearl divers and stuff looked very new and very nice while they area with the sitngray tanks and atlantis coaster seemed a little dated. The giant shamu stadium also seemed a little dated as did the food stalls and other thing saround it but it was still neat. I'm glad I got to go but I'm not really into the whole animal adventure thing, its just not as amazing when theres a million little kids screaming around you who wanna touch the dolphins first. I'd say the onyl thing I really liked was Kraken, which is an amazing coaster. -
^Deep down inside you died a little.

You do know he has no "confidential" info right and that the See Saw 2 was a vekoma concept that was never brought to reality and currently has no plans to be brought to reality as most of their concept plans were trashed when they filed for bankruptcy. The member who has posted this has been banned under several use anmes already for innapropriate behavior, and I'm sure it wont be lon guntill hes banned again. Sigh.

^And most of your posts are useless crap and garbage that are easily shot down and proven wrong. The see saw thing isnt happening, nor was it ever planned too. Glad to see you back Kong Fu Guy, that you would get sneaky this time and create two sepearte names then argue with yourself, too bad the IP adress is the same. Lets see how long you last this time.

Coney Island Trip
Gordon Bombay replied to TOPGUN1993's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My buddy and I are planning to go to Coney for a day in a few weeks here hopefully. -
You couldnt take pictures of the ride yet they allow you to POV?
-
Yeah they all stayed relatively the same place every year, nothing too interesting or anything that I havent already photographed. I wish they still did this and had more throughout the park. Anyone know if GL has them or something similar? I will be going this Friday!

Does anyone remember back when Kodak sponsored "photo spots" which were wooden markers with the Kodak logo on them places throughout the park as to where good photographic oppopurtunitys were that were good to photogrpah for even the most novice of photographers? I partiuarly remember the one by Vortex off the path from Rivertown to Coney where you can see the rides whole lay out. I know they used to point these out on the old park maps so does anyone else remember where they used to be or can anyone make a list from the old park maps? Did they change around each season and before Kodak sponsored it was there anything similar to this. I would like to see if you fellow PKIC members will help me compile a list of where spots used to be. Please make the lists like this for example: 1999 Park Map Photo Spots: 1)Vortex path from Coney to Rivertown 2)Top Gun exit path 3)Etc. 4)Etc. 5)Etc. Your help is greatly apprecaite as this helps contribute to historical information and a project Im currently working on to find old areas that were considered photgraphic landmarks by the park in the past and showing how they look today. Old postcard information is good too. Thanks for the help everyone and interest!

^I believe they have them in Emporium Vortex. Not 100% sure on that though.

Son of Beast To Be Partly Rebuilt
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
^No, please read the artricle, they HAVE to rebuild the section and replace sections that the state wants taken away for analysis, then they may have the re-built sections tested and considered for re-certification under the supervision of an independently contracted state engineer. THE INVESTIGATION IS NOT OVER YET, this is still part of the investigation which HAS NOT RELEASED THE FULL DETAILS OFF THE INCIDENT AS TO WHAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT TO OCCUR, the testing and possible re-opening of the ride can not occur untill the state has finished their investigation. -
Son of Beast To Be Partly Rebuilt
Gordon Bombay replied to The Interpreter's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Everyone needs to remember that what was announced today is still part of the states investigation, parts must be re-built so they can take current parts for analyzing to continue the investigation, this does not mean the coaster will re-open! Please pay attention when you read. The articel says that they arent rebuilding parts to get it open but so that the state investigators can investigate current structure work for the continuation of investigation. -
^I will be riding Steel Venom this friday!

Shot Glasses, I have well over 60.
-
Ahhh, cut him some slack, it was an honest mistake and he probably doesnt know what the object in question is. I read what you wrote Paul and understood what you meant ride away. As far as I know at PKI they dont make you take glasses off, where were you told to Cpt. Picard? I rode many rides the other day with my sunglasses on.

Let me answer this one for Sparky: "No."

^I feel for the screechin eagle with you, and I was kidding about you being over rated, I'm a big fan of your posts on here. We met once I think.

Does kennywood have a sit down full service restauraunt and what about Geagua Lake, the park thats closer doesnt even come close?
-
^So did The Beast even abck in the day when I used to work there, I believe Vortex Demon is referring to freshly painted green boxes that have been put in new positions on the load and unload sides of many coasters. I was up at teh park for a fe whours today and saw them.
