  1. It was as of when I was driving into the park. I haven't made it back there yet though. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  2. Just arrived at Kentucky Kingdom. Lots of people here. Overhead someone say there would be lots of coaster enthusiasts here today because of Holiwood Nights. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  3. Snake Pit was still open and selling cheesesteaks as of Coasterstock weekend. They were closed by the time I made it over that way tonight (around 7) but many food places closed early tonight, likely due to the weather scaring a lot of people off, but the sign still said Snake Pit and there was no evidence of anything changing there as far as food offerings go.
  4. Virtually no wait for Vortex. It's only running 2 trains and I was still on and off in less than 10 minutes in the front row. Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  5. I love how he deleted the tweet after the backlash started.
  6. I'd blame RCDB for so many sites getting it wrong. So many people consider them the definitive source of information on roller coasters that people would rather believe what they say than listen to someone who might know better. For the most part RCDB seems to be pretty reliable, but they're certainly not always correct.
  7. I think it will be pretty popular. I'm just not crazy about the location as it appears it will be going right between the Aquarium and Mitchell's Fish Market, blocking the great view of downtown Cincinnati that you can currently get from that location.
  8. According to the press release from Koch Development, it will be manufactured by a company called Dutch Wheels. http://kochdevelopment.com/2016/06/01/the-skywheel-coming-to-newport-on-the-levee/
  9. An actual expert weighs in on the gorilla's behavior: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1203379103029809&set=a.136952966339100.18704.100000731932790&type=3
  10. Lots more news on this, so I'll try to keep it all in one post this time... From National Geographic - Harambe's Behavior May Have Been Normal Gorilla Play: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2016/05/harambe-gorillas-behaviors-zoos-animals/ WLW reports that a group called Stop Animal Exploitation Now is filing a complaint with the USDA against the zoo, claiming the barriers were unsafe: http://www.700wlw.com/articles/local-news-119585/animal-activist-group-files-complaint-against-14765459/ CNN has reached out to animal expert Jeff Corwin who wants to let everyone know that the zoo isn't your babysitter: http://cnn.it/1O0cjbX
  11. Cincinnati Police Department is reviewing the facts of the case regarding the actions of the parents/family,"consistent with department policies": https://twitter.com/CincinnatiPD/status/737746953111506944/photo/1
  12. I also don't understand why they're complaining about amusement parks choosing private settlements to end lawsuits. That's common practice in the business world these days. It brings a quick and quiet end to a lawsuit without requiring anyone to admit guilt.
  13. Some thoughts on the subject from the Humane Society. http://blog.humanesociety.org/wayne/2016/05/remembering-harambe-the-gorilla.html?credit=blog_em_053116_id8187
  14. USDA to review gorilla's death; zoo to look at safety of exhibits: http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/2016/05/30/usda-review-gorillas-death-zoo-look-safety-exhibits/85165924/
  15. Speaking of Carowinds, someone can't count.
  16. I can't either, but that's the way it was all weekend at all of the coasters during ERT.
  17. WLWT has now chosen to post the full video of the incident (with the only edit being to blur the kid's face). I haven't seen it yet but viewer discretion is advised. http://www.wlwt.com/news/full-video-boy-falls-into-gorilla-world-exhibit-at-cincinnati-zoo/39781440
  18. Only two reviews on their Facebook page from yesterday. Both complain about being told when they arrived that the waterpark wouldn't open until 4 despite the website saying noon. One of the reviewers also complained about the bumper cars being down ($10 for an unlimited ride pass and the only thing their son would ride was down, they waited two hours, park wouldn't offer them a refund...).
  19. Coaster Crew is holding an event there in conjunction with NAPHA (National Amusement Park Historical Association) on Sunday. That will help with attendance I'm sure.
  20. Hopefully it'll be ready by the time I'm up that way in about a month and a half.
  21. The zoo has also posted an official update on their website, but I haven't been able to get it to load and I've been trying for a couple hours now. http://cincinnatizoo.org/blog/2016/05/28/media-update-gorilla-world/
  22. "Opening this weekend" according to their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/CamdenParkWV/photos/a.111428678888567.10123.105124439518991/1212470705451020/?type=3
  23. I'll be there a week from Sunday. Stopping by on the way home from Holiday World again.
  24. I'd expect large crowds for all of them. All of those movies were quite big (and The Goonies still has a huge cult following to this day).
