You're correct. The site once occupied by Chester Park is home to CIncinnati Water Works offices and assorted other businesses. That's only about 5 minutes from my house.

Stumbled across this video just now and thought folks here would enjoy it. It's a video of the classic Scott Joplin piece "Solace" featuring dozens of old postcards of Coney Island and other Cincinnati attractions.

I'm seeing the bug now. If I like it, the "unlike" button shows up immediately, but if I refresh the page or go somewhere else and come back, it vanishes again.

Working fine for me in both Firefox (23) and Chrome (33 beta).

Growler sounds interesting. While I'm sure families will enjoy the Rock N Tug, it seems quite boring once you've ridden Surf Dog. Baby Baron sounds similar to the Snoopy Vs. The Red Baron ride at KI.

I would expect end of the month at least. Still lots of supports and track to install, but they're making good progress. The weather has cooperated pretty well too - one major snowstorm back in early December and the ridiculous cold snap last week have been the only notable weather issues this season so far.

The one shown in that picture is in the process of being connected now, so it's definitely possible that they could get another one up today.

Another piece of track is in the air

If that's the case with Coney's Super Round Up, I can definitely see why. That thing is plenty intense in its current form. I can't imagine it going any faster.

It will be interesting to see how long this place lasts. Jeff Ruby's Tropicana, which originally occupied that spot, was huge. Eric Deters' Bulldog's seemed popular enough but didn't last long (not entirely sure why). I've heard that the rent for that spot was $10k a month, but with new management since then (the former manager resigned and was last seen managing Bridgewater Falls near Hamilton), things may have changed. As far as "finally" something new - there have been other new venues at the Levee recently. A new dance club called Flashbacks recently opened in the space originally occupied by Shadowbox (and later by a teen club called Blast), and a new bar and grill called River Rock opened last month in the space once occupied by Jefferson Hall (and briefly by the highly-touted Kentucky Bourbon bar called The Still, which suddenly closed in October). Also, a small sandwich shop called Petra Cuisine opened last year in the space once occupied by Smoothie King (serving gyros and similar items, and baklava for dessert). Wikipedia says the chain is "known for its intentional employment of obnoxious staff". The chain's website says that they're "The Joint Yer Mama Warned You About".

In the winter time there's also Perfect North Slopes. If you're not into skiing or snowboarding, you can easily waste an afternoon there on the snowtube lanes. It's not the cheapest thing in the area ($25 for unlimited tubing during the week or $25 for 2 hours / $30 for 3 hours on the weekends), but it's a ton of fun.

I honestly don't see a streetcar route extending to NKY. The Southbank Shuttle and other TANK routes have this covered fairly well. The trip from downtown to either Covington or Newport on the shuttle is about 10 minutes, and most of the TANK routes also stop in downtown Cincinnati. Even though the two agencies are completely separate, Metro and TANK have done a great job of working together to make it easy to get from one side of the river to the other.

For those curious, here's one of a few short videos YouTube user Wurlitzer157 uploaded of the organ from 2005 (the last year it was used I believe): I'm very excited to see its return in 2014.

I wouldn't be too concerned with whether or not Ed is returning. His shows have been great the past two seasons, and if he doesn't return, I expect the park and CF will work hard to find a suitable replacement that's at least as good as, if not better than, what Ed has given us.
