In the winter time there's also Perfect North Slopes. If you're not into skiing or snowboarding, you can easily waste an afternoon there on the snowtube lanes. It's not the cheapest thing in the area ($25 for unlimited tubing during the week or $25 for 2 hours / $30 for 3 hours on the weekends), but it's a ton of fun.

I honestly don't see a streetcar route extending to NKY. The Southbank Shuttle and other TANK routes have this covered fairly well. The trip from downtown to either Covington or Newport on the shuttle is about 10 minutes, and most of the TANK routes also stop in downtown Cincinnati. Even though the two agencies are completely separate, Metro and TANK have done a great job of working together to make it easy to get from one side of the river to the other.

For those curious, here's one of a few short videos YouTube user Wurlitzer157 uploaded of the organ from 2005 (the last year it was used I believe): I'm very excited to see its return in 2014.

I wouldn't be too concerned with whether or not Ed is returning. His shows have been great the past two seasons, and if he doesn't return, I expect the park and CF will work hard to find a suitable replacement that's at least as good as, if not better than, what Ed has given us.

My guess would be they're busy working on the station and other parts that can't be seen very well from the webcam.

The reason for slapping new paint on top of old paint is simple. It's faster and cheaper. I'm sure the weather plays into it as well - you don't want bare metal exposed to all the snow and rain.
