I gave Big Dipper several chances when I was at Camden several years ago. Great ride. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

The reason for slapping new paint on top of old paint is simple. It's faster and cheaper. I'm sure the weather plays into it as well - you don't want bare metal exposed to all the snow and rain.

I'd like to see a large Round Up like the one at Coney Island. Fast, dizzying and surprisingly forceful. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

Hopefully media day, and opening day otherwise. I missed Diamondback's opening day (couldn't get off work), but I'm not missing this one. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

I saw Lance's tweet about this yesterday and thought about replying with something like "You're joking, right?". Didn't realize KIC was on the list, but I just voted twice from my phone and will vote a few more times from my laptop when I get home (one of the advantages to having multiple browsers ;-)) Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

I believe the helicopter next to FoF disappeared when Firehawk was put in, since Firehawk takes up some of the space formerly occupied by the helipad. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

Please save a local copy of the webcam image, upload it somewhere and post the local copy. All I see right now is a night shot. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

Is Paramount Really to Blame for Winterfest's Demise?
Oldiesmann replied to Gordon Bombay's topic in Kings Island
It's highly unlikely that Winterfest will return. They tried it in 2005, and although it was just a way to dress up the park for potential buyers, it still failed miserably. There are likely multiple reasons (the biggest being the cost - season passes didn't get you in and once you paid to get in, there wasn't much to do for free), but it didn't work. Even Holiday Fest at The Beach, which I worked during the winter of 2006-2007, was mostly dead most nights. Festival of Lights at the zoo is a bit of a different situation. The experience isn't that much different than what you'd get if you went to the zoo on a "normal" day - it's at night and in the middle of winter, but you still get to walk around and take in many of the exhibits. There are also plenty of indoor exhibits where guests can get out of the cold for a while. The biggest factor is that once you get in, you can enjoy most of what Festival of Lights has to offer without having to pay extra. There's still a small cost for riding the train, but again, that's completely optional. -

Doesn't look like much is going on today. Might be a bit too windy for Clifford though.

6 hours later it's still so foggy you can barely see anything...

Here's the review I was referring to... Hint: Don't come to KI on a Saturday during Haunt season. I have only waited 2 1/2 hours or more for a ride twice at KI - once the year Flight of Fear opened (line was all the way back to Zephyr) and the day Firehawk opened (most of that was waiting for the ride to actually open).

I purchased platinum for next year in hopes of finally making it up to CP. I'll have to get it processed in the spring. I'm also grateful that the pass sale was extended, as I didn't remember to purchase the pass until Monday morning. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

The best one I've seen today is the one-star review ranting about Fast Lane and how it caused them to only be able to ride 5 things in 12 hours... Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

KIC train on Beast for me. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4

I don't see why you'd need to wait for another source to post it to Wikipedia - it doesn't get any more official than a press release from the park.

The problem with flight deck is that the train has to be manually stopped right on the section of track that moves. As I recall from riding it, it doesn't stop right within this section, so manual braking would be needed as well. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3 using Tapatalk 4
