  5. The "Build It Bigger" episode was Griffon & Renegade. Yeah, the nails through the frozen wood was rather funny. But I'm not so sure that Danny Forster could pound the nail in even in 70 degree weather.

  9. http://www.griffoncoaster.com/ Just click the video section and then the media day choice. This girl's reaction is great. It looks like she might be dead before the drop, then she just starts screaming like crazy. But I believe in the end, she actually enjoyed it.

  11. I am going to try and get down to CLP sometime this weekend and take some pics of the park, as well as what is left of the ballroom. Is photobucket free?
  12. ^ That is a nice find. And boy, do those pics bring back some memories. I forgot about waiting in line on those steps.
  13. Those are some neat pics. It's too bad that they are just lyin' around.

  15. Brake more and more every season? I'm not sure I understand your meaning...
  16. Congrats man. Glad to hear all are doing well. Funny thing is, the real meaning of life for you has just begun.
  17. KK at KD was actually a shuttle looper and had nothing to do with the previously mentioned Togo standups. http://www.rcdb.com/id637.htm
  18. Money certainly is a huge aspect of why the brakes were added. Probably the most important reason. Why? Not only will it cost more to make the necessary repairs, it is going to take time to do the actual work. And that time will not be done after the park closes, but during normal operating hours. And that results in downtime, which none of us enjoy. But if the ride does happen to be down, it really does not "bother" us too much since many of us will be back at the park later in the week/ month/ year etc. It's those that can only enjoy KI once a year. While downtime does happen, it needs to be prevented at all costs so that those who are only enjoying the park once a year will be inclined to come back soon. If one of the best rides in the park is closed so that a small percentage of enthusiasts are happy, the park has their priorities in the wrong place.
  19. Some ideas that others have had: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9334
  20. Well my intention was certainly not to pick a fight by any means, but to calm the rather "defensive spirit" that has seemed to be brought into the conversation. If you broke no laws, then there is nothing to hide and no reason to become defensive. If you didn't do it, then you didn't do it. But the question if you were on KI property does need to be asked, and the ethical nature if you were tresspassing does need to be brought up. Only because if you did happen to make a mistake, to let it be understood that it was an innocent mistake and should not be attempted again. But more importantly, to stop another person from doing the same thing and taking it a step further. And I was only trying to point out that if you would have brought a camera with you to show where you could see these signs, it would put to rest all speculation.

  22. I really would not hold your breath for a good logo. Not only is CF (and others) notorious for reusing ride names, but logos as well. A good example of this would be; at Worlds of Fun they have a ride called Detonator (Power Tower) but with Mean Streak's logo. http://www.worldsoffun.com/public/inside_p...s/detonator.cfm
  23. You are right, it is crazy. But when there is no income, it is hard to insure anything. And the insurance aspect was one of the hurdles that needed to be crossed (along with the water, gas and electric bill) that took so long just to open the Beach Club towards the end of summer 2007. And as many have said, it is a sad story. There is one thing that I did recognize with all the current media attention: everyone that was interviewed about the fire talked about events that occured over 20 years ago. Nobody interviewed are people that would really be willing to enjoy the park today. Putting it simply (and not trying to be insulting by any means): it was the older folk in the interviews as well as older folk in the videos that were loking at the damage first hand. What the park needs (besides about $3 million) is for some younger people to come forward and express their desire for the park to re-open. Without that, no investor is going to touch CLP.
