  1. I guess it is too bad that Texas does not feel that same way about guns. http://www.io.com/~velte/FAQ.htm
  2. ^ Actually PA is the same way. Alcohol can only be purchased at a state run liquor store or beer distributor. Grocery and convienant stores do not sell any alcohol. And bars/ restaurants can only be open on Sundays if food sales are 30% of the total revenue. It can be a rather pain in the A$$. But what I'm getting at is they are making it sound like it is something brand new. Alcohol sales have been present at every professional sporting event in Texas for how long now? Why is it shocking for SF to sell alcohol as well?
  3. Geez.. I wonder if they sell beer at The Ballpark at Arlington.
  4. That has to be one of the all time classic lines....
  5. How can you possibly be defending and arguing about a rumor?
  6. And if you don't do your homework, or your chores, mom and dad will make sure you don't leave your room either. Seriously, sit back and think about it... If removing and reconstructing BD was that easy, CF would not be selling it. And on top of that, if it was easy, another park would have jumped at the chance to buy it. But still, no takers. I think there are many things behind the scenes that none of us will ever know. Perhaps due to BD being as old as it is, parts are difficult to come by.
  7. LiKe ReAlLy CooL MaN! ThAt RoCKS THE BIG1111111!!!!!! LiKe LeT's BuIlD a CoaSter To ThE Moon. AfTeR ALL, I'm UsInG ny ImaGinAtion! (stepping back into reality) No, this topic has nothing to do with you hosting a party at KI. Just read the title. It is rather self explanitory.
  8. ^ Wow. People really need to look at the big picture. How many alcohol related incidents have happened at Busch Gardens (or pick any Busch Entertainment property)? And did these people that want to protest the decision actually come up with some data supporting their fact that alcohol related incidents in parks is on the rise, or for that matter is significant enough to warrent a ban on alcohol sales? And if people really want to kick back and have a frosty brew, they can (and I'm sure have been for a long time) just go back to their car or hotel (that's what I do!). Talk about a mountain out of a molehill.
  9. Hypothetically speaking... Say you rent a home with a backyard. Then the landlord decides to have a stag-n-drag in the same backyard that you have a signed lease for. And on top of that, you can't use your driveway on that day due to not having enough off street parking, so his guests are now going to use it. Now have the same party 10 times a year for the 49ers. Plus any other events that would occur during the year such as college games, soccar games, concerts etc. How big is that dog now?
  10. So zoos have no place in society? You do realize that if zoos did not keep animals, that many would be extinct? And not extinct because they are in zoos, but because they were not studied on how to keep them alive in the wild. This is a tragic story. And thanks to marlfox_21 for the insight.
  11. Those pics of the construction crew are a riot! They remind me of PA Dept. of Transportation.
  12. http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A.../712270303/1070
  13. ^ While it would make sense from a financial standpoint, those rides really are not worth getting moved to another CF park, with the exception of Big Dipper. Other than the Dipper, none have a big enough draw to warrent a move.
  14. ^ While that looks great on paper, there are too many things that would complicate planning for such an event. January is right in the middle of the winter rehabs for seasonal parks. All the maintenance workforce is concentrating on that. Throwing in an event during that time would put a ton of pressure in that department. January is not a good time to plan for an outside event on the shores of Lake Erie. Sure there are some holidays during the winter that you cannot tell that it is winter, but all it takes is that one lake effect snowstorm to pop up and all the money and effort put into a one day event would end up looking like a fantastic snowdrift. Who is going to staff the event for one day?
  15. Can you give some insight as to why you feel this way?
  16. Even if it is tax dollars that pay for the sign, as well as the removal/ installation of the signs the amount spent on the signs is not that much considering how much tourism dollars fuels the local economy. I would be intrested to see how the Ohio tourism bureau is funded for such things as 1-800-BUCKEYE as well as numerous TV advertisments shown out of state. If the entities that are being advertised for fund it, then the signs are not tax dollars. And if it is tax dollars funding it, so be it. Where would Mason be w/o KI? Chances are, it is tax dollars that pay for such things. I can't see the Zoo, airport, or sports arenas paying for it. And they all have the same type of signs.
  17. I don't see why this is a big deal. The same signs were replaced when it became Paramount's Kings Island prior to the start of the 1993 season. The same type of signs were also changed numerous times with the Geauga Lake/ Six Flags Ohio/ Six Flags Worlds of Adventure/ Geauga Lake in Auora. And I'm pretty sure that it is not Mason that is responsible for the signs and maintenance of the highway, but the responsibility lies with ODOT.
  18. Coasters are not dangerous. His condition is dangerous. He could suffer a ruptured aorta getting into a car accident, or walking up stairs, or even sneezing. Not that your uncle suffers from this condition, but refer to a very publicized death concerning the aorta: http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/news/20...n-ritters-death
  19. I was thinking that he could have been on the Jet Express going from Sandusky to Put-in-Bay. Or it could be one heckava good camera with a fantastic zoom on it.
  20. When Paramount brought Winterfest back it was nothing more than window dressing for potential buyers of the parks. If it would have worked out, just another perk to make the park more appealing. But Paramount really did it half-heartedly as far as planning went, and overpriced it. It really is too bad. I think Winterfest could do really well.
  21. So $20 is not the official pricing. That's good to know.
  22. If this is the hotel you a referring to, it is still open: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/clee...auga-lake-hotel
  23. So what would West Mifflin do if Kennywood no longer existed? I have a difficult time believing that Kennywood does not already pay out an exorbitant amount of taxes for property, school, and payroll, as well as utility costs; and West Mifflin wants to take even more? What a joke. Now add that with Kennywood being the only entity to pay this tax, and it is insulting to the park. For all of those people that wondered why is is difficult for a family owned park to survive need only to look at this situation.
  24. $20? When were the details of admission to HH released?
