  1. My personal favorite: Dallas theme song. Boy did that bring back some memories.
  2. Considering the improvments that have been made, I really don't see another accident like there was before. And I despise SoB.
  3. ^ Don't ever buy a car. AT least TG goes through a daily inspection.
  4. Considering that the roughest part of the ride is the rosebowl, I really don't see how SoB being a hyper make that much of a difference. El Toro's drop is only about 40' smaller than SoB's, and it is not even close to being as rough as SoB. Being such a large structure SOB is quite a challenge to maintain & the vibrations from the heavier premier trains were literally shaking the ride apart. Size of the entire structure and the heavy trains have nothing to do with the ride being a hyper.
  5. All I have to say is: Friends with benefits.
  6. I'll give them a B. There were more positives than negatives. Being under CF's ownership for their first full season, they did many things to the park. The park looked fresher than the last couple of years. Perhaps is was because the same old movie posters were removed, or there was occaisionally different music than in years' past, or simply it was the addition of Firehawk. But there is always room for improvment. I hope that near the top of the list is a legitimate sit down restaurant. The park needs one, more than a B&M . And even though it may be unfair; I will always remember KI pre-Paramount. It is that standard that I will compare each year to. CF has a ways to go.
  7. Yeah, it looks like a great jacket. But still, if I actually went out of my way to go to the park (I find that difficult to do ) so what. I still was able to go to the park that I have a season pass to and spend another day there. Not being able to get my jacket is not going to ruin my day. Perhaps it is just me, but if I had to go out of my way to go get a free jacket that I am entitled to either in 2007 or in 2008, I have much bigger issues than to be pi$$ed off at the park because I couldn't get it. A bad day at the park is still better than a good day at work.
  8. Yes, it was an incentive. Hence the free part. And sure it was promised, but the promise was not just for 2007, but with purchase of the 2008 pass. Which you can still get in 2008. More jacket info: http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission...sses/jacket.cfm
  9. Perhaps you are exactly correct. It is not summer anymore. The seasonal workers are not working at the park anymore. All that is left are regular full time employees. So now you expect someone to change their life around to give out free jackets to people who may or may not show up? Comparing banks to a seasonal park is apples and oranges. People don't have to go to the park, but they have to go to the bank. I really cannot believe that some are making this such a big deal. It's a free jacket. If you don't get it in 2007, what harm is there in waiting till 2008?
  10. Having another coaster within view during a ride on Beast would not be as bad as many would think. There are some great untapped elements back there and you would probably have just as good of a night ride. Another classic coaster would be very possible. But what we really don't want is to have excessive land clearing or expansion of the midways into that area where Beast is. If they would treat a new coaster construction the same way as to when Beast was constructed (minimal tree loss as possible) it has the making of a great 1-2 punch for rides going into the woods.
  11. Heck, I still have the Mattel "Classic Football" handheld game and the Mattel baseball game as well. And both still work!
  12. PETA is now protecting cockroaches? Even though I find the whole stunt disgusting, I would think that PETA would focus their attention more on animals that are, at a minimum, protected. Not animals that you can find in any sewer by the hundred count. PETA reminds me of the Rainbow Coalition. If it makes big media headlines, they will certainly get involved. But seriously though, protecting cockroaches? Why? Just in New Jersey alone there are probably a couple billion cockroaches. I would have thought that PETA would have bigger fish to fry. Oh wait, can't fry fish anymore.... And next on the menu for PETA: FearFactor.

  14. EDIT: Whoops! I meant that 116 MILLION gallons of water have been used in just over 2 years. I suppose using only 116 gallons in two years would be a miracle. Now back to the REAL story: http://www.wsbtv.com/news/14442543/detail.html Even though the cutbacks appear to be motivated by the aquarium itself, just having to have cutbacks can't be a good thing.

  16. All the pics that I have seen just have some woods in the background. Is there anything more concrete?

  18. ^ Uh oh. Spirits get pi$$ed when you question their existance. The same kind of pi$$ed like when the food runs out at an ACE convention.
  19. Chances are the park was unable to secure an actual date from the vendor. So they announced that the jackets were not going to be available until next week. But hey, bonus for everyone, the jackets arrived early. And considering how many people will be getting season passes, I would not sweat about getting your size. Come May, then sweat it out. Remember, CP does not open until the middle of May.
  20. Some kind of story about seeing glowing red eyes in the tunnels.
