  1. Superman launched backwards at 100 mph. Wow-could you imagine that on TTD?
  2. I think Der Spinning Keggers was across from the Eiffel Tower to the left. ( My very first KI ride.)
  3. I know the Canoe ride was where The Beast is but cannot remember if it was at the sight of the station or the lift hill or both or neither. Of course, that was where Jan lost Mr. Brady's plans. ( Nice going Jan-LOL.)
  4. Legend is my fav. I can take Voyage in small doses-large doses give me a headache. However, I do want to try Voyage with the timberliners.
  5. Did the last train on DB last year. I think I will do the same this year-might as well start a new tradition.
  6. ^The Dyson Dryers ( or whatever they are called ) wouldn't be bad if people used them for the purpose they were intended for, ie, drying your hands. I don't use them because people use them to dry their icky clothes after getting off WWC.
  7. Have only ridden three on the list. Of those, Blue Streak is my fav. ( Didn't know that was one of John Allen's. Did you also notice there are 2 Shooting Stars on the list? You learn something new every day.)
  8. I never meant to infer you supported line cutters-sorry if I gave that impression, Muppetfan. I meant to say that nothing short of holding line cutters personally accountable for their actions will decrease line cutting. To me, line cutters are nothing short of bullies and the fast pass will not change their bullying behavior. Again, meant nothing personal against you. Like Terpy, I agree that you are full of great ideas in your posts.
  9. People cut in line because they feel somehow "entitled to do so". Fast Pass is not going to change their personality. To say that Fast Pass will cut down on line cutting just seems to make an excuse for line cutters' actions.

    Urgent Care

Maybe I am overreacting but I am concerned about a possible safety issue in the queue area for Urgent Scare. This is the attraction in the Action Theatre. While you are in the queue area, haunt people periodically try to scare you. A few of them bang on the hand rails with blunt instruments. I think these blunt instruments are too close to the patrons for comfort. I am afraid that one of these times, they will accidently strike a patron causing serious injury. Your thoughts?
  11. Good point. And I don't mean to infer by my post that coasters aren't mechanically sound. I feel a lot safer on a coaster than I do driving my car to and from the amusement park. ( Especially around KI-have you seen the nuts driving along KI Drive?) I mean to say that it may be unsafe if you have some kind of pre-existing health condition that would be aggravated by riding.
  12. Interesting article. I especially was intrigued by the student who hated coasters going back to the time when her parents deceived her into thinking Space Mountain was another ride. I have always thought parents should be honest with their children about thrill rides such as showing them what the ride does and letting them decide whether or not to ride. Also, the article doesn't address the fact that many people don't ride thrill rides not just because of fright but for health reasons. Many people simply get very ill from the effects of thrill rides. Simply put, thrill rides are not for everyone nor were they meant to be.
  13. Those photos truly show what a gorgeous park Six Flags Great Adventure is. I certainly understand why you love that park, Terpie.
  14. Do you own a jump to conclusions mat? Or do you just like pretending you know everything? What evidence is there to support that decreased capacity is the reason KD's Drop Tower doesn't spin? None, you're just generalizing or "jumping to conclusions" (see video reference linked above). I highly doubt the reason KI's stopped spinning is because of a concern over capacity. Ever since the ride opened, it goes through spells where the gondola doesn't spin. As SOB_TOM pointed out earlier, it occasionally has problems with the motor that causes the action. If I recall, there was one whole season previously where Drop Tower ( At that time Drop Zone ) didn't spin at all.
  15. There used to be more theming in the queue area for Disaster Transport. For example, there used to be a robot ( kind of like C Threepio from Star Wars ) who would do an introductory schtick
  16. ^Maybe the ride operator was doing the schtick, "The Beast goes upside down not once, not twice but 0 times " and the kid missed the "0 times" part of the shpiel.
  17. ^He probably normally worked at Beast and was rotating rides- probably just got his ride schtick mixed up.
  18. Also enjoyed Ghouls Gone Wild. Now, that's more like it, in my opinion, as to what a Holloween attraction should be-not blood and gore but good old fashioned witches, ghouls, and monsters with nice, light-hearted monster rock. I hope that in the future there will be more attractions like this for Haunt. ( A person can dream can't they? LOL.)
  19. I think the light effects were working on Maverick when I was at CP Labor Day weekend. As far as keeping up on theme music, however, you may have noticed that you can hardly hear that wonderful Maverick score-I wish they would turn it up-in my opinion, best queue music anywhere.
  20. I guess they are going to enclose the Plymouth Rock Cafe eating area-they stated they are going to put a/c in that area. Wonderful decision. While I enjoyed the food there it was very hot in the eating area-the umbrellas didn't really shelter you from the sun that well. They must of read my mind. ( LOL.)
  21. With all due respect, Angie, if a person doesn't like a coaster, they have the right to state their opinion. Stating you don't like a coaster is not an attack against a person who may love the coaster. I myself hate trimless rides on Magnum because they bang up my legs-even though I know you love trimless rides on Magnum, my expression that I hate them is not a personal attack against you. I know we all share a deep love of coasters but we need to wake up and realize that a coaster only is an inanimate object-it is not a person. Before you react to this, hear me out. There was a previous thread asking what we were doing when DB was officially announced in August, 2008. The only thing I remember about that time is that my mother was going through chemotherapy-believe me, DB to me was just a stupid coaster compared to my treasured mother. ( Sadly, I lost my treasure the following March. ) Just a little food for thought.
  22. Much prefer the LaRosa's outside the park because of the lower price, bigger portions, and plenty of ingredients on the pizza. Plus, I am at a loss to undestand why you would choose frozen crust over fresh crust. ( But you have the right to your opinion. ) I think the pizza at KI is the worst value for your money as far as food choices -2 slices of pizza for 6.27 ( and the slices are usually pretty small compared to years past). I'm usually still hungry afterwards.
  23. Would have to say Outer Hanks. For what you pay, you get a lot of food and the food is good. Both quantity and quality.
  24. ^Exactly the point I was trying to make.
  25. I have been going to the Holloween events at both KI and CP since they first started. The events at KI have always been dark and intense, what I would characterize as not "family friendly" way before Cedar Fair took over while the events at CP have always been more light hearted and fun, ie, more family friendly. I, therefore, don't think it is fair to characterize KI's events as not being family friendly solely because of Cedar Fair when they never really have been family friendly.
