And in this case, "much more" is nothing more than getting nickle and dimed by a chain that is desperate to increase per caps.......
-
Sixteen nickles a minute for a family of four to watch 25% of a movie that is free on youtube? No thanks!

Many people believe that the MOD is one of the most thinly disguised pro-abortion/eugenics groups in the world. I'm shocked that the park would, at least indirectly, appear to take a position on such a hot-button issue.

Invertigo and Zypher also had significant downtime today. I have also read reports of downtime on Firehawk, FoF, BooBlasters, the Sportacopters and Slingshot, but I did not see these myself.
-
No, it shouldn't. They had two extra weeks and still looked completely unprepared and unprofessional. I feel sorry for anyone who drove a long way or paid money for that disaster.

That commercial just quickly flashes clips of KI's rides and actually provides very little information to the viewer.
-
I agree. Red white and blue are far more attractive than the axel grease and bird droppings color scheme they have now.

Cedar Fair to Partner with Guiness Book of World Records
BavarianBeatle replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
Cedar Fair is obviously attempting to have their food prices recognized as a world record. -
Or, in my case, "I don't want to spend $5 on it because I'm over the age of 4." But, since the target audience will replace itself every two or three years and little kids tend to like like dinosaurs, I would expect this to last awhile.

Top ten scariest rollercoasters at kings island
BavarianBeatle replied to Michaeljackson's topic in KI Polls
I am one of those people who says that there are no scary roller coasters at KI. -
http://www.wallaceracing.com/free-fall-math.php It doesn't go 61 mph. Here is an interesting resource (assuming it is accurate).

I hope they make the ride better in addition to changing the que. If the ride cycle is the same as last year, it doesn't matter how much makeup they put on that pig.

CPSC warns of deadly danger of water walking balls
BavarianBeatle replied to selective's topic in Kings Island
CPSC: Stupid bureaucrats with too much time (and taxpayer money) on their hands. -
It absolutely HAS to be a coaster because the park says so!!!!! Now pass the kool aid and a fan, boy...... --Beatle, wondering how the young uns would classify Bayern Kurve......

I just got off the phone with Mikey the Cereal Kid. He says that if you believe Vortex is sinking, you need to eat some Pop Rocks and guzzle a Coke. --Beatle, who may be one of the few people old enough to know what that means....

Interesting over night webcam observations
BavarianBeatle replied to Hendrick's topic in Kings Island
Look closely at the person being spotlighted. They obviously trespassed on park property with a guitar to sing to WindSeeker and got caught. Perhaps that woman who married the ride at Knoebels a couple of years ago has become dissatisfied in her relationship...... -
I must have missed the release of how much DA actually costs to see how cheap it is. Where can I find that information? The word "cheap" actually has more than one definition. See numbers 5, 6, and 7 here. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/cheap Edit: Compared to The Wild Animal Habitat, I believe that Dinosaurs Alive is "of poor quality; inferior." (Definition number 5).

http://www.askjim.bi...nition_2093.php After rereading our discussion, it appears we agree on many things. You were making the point that guests should not be upset by an optional $5.00 upcharge, and I agree with that. But it appears, at least to me, that there are people who in fact are upset by it and are perceiving KI negatively and telling their friends and family to do the same. I hope those people are a small minority, but the negativity out there does concern me.
-
It should not be counted as a coaster, IMO. As a wiser member of this site once pointed out, it rolls, but it doesn't coast.
-
Do you mean people are claiming they will not go to the park because of an attraction that has an optional expense? There is much more to it than that. "Goodwill" is an asset of any business, and KI has lost some of that among the people who don't like the attraction and/or the fact that it is an upcharge. On the other hand, they have increased their goodwill among people who like and are willing to pay for the attraction. I'm sure they have done marketing research that suggests to them that the latter outweighs the former, and makes this a wise investment. As I said, I hope they are right.
