Mean Streak closed a few weeks early this year for "retracking work." Just sayin.

Thank you for the memories. I wish my children could experience something like what KI used to be. Thunderbolt at Kennywood was as close as I have been able to come so far.
-
If you go to Holiday World, and you were alive in the 70s you can't vote in this poll, because of you know how Paramount and Cedar Fair ruined these coasters.....
-
My kids are both under 5'2" and had no problem at CP or KI......
-
I couldn't agree more. CF needs to make a decision one way or the other and lay this whole matter to rest...
-
Best kept secret... Go to Haunt on a Friday and go to the coasters first while everyone else waits in line for the haunted attractions.

Mean Streak closed?
BavarianBeatle replied to jrose530's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The problem isn't the track, it's the ungodly horrible trims on the first drop. IMO they should just remove the trims and let the "It'th jutht too rough" crowd walk down the midway to Camp Snoopy. -
Egads, it was the most painful ride ever prior to the seat dividers! I remember riding it back then and the guy next to me and I kept cracking each other's skulls together. FWIW, I rode Beast this weekend, and it was great. In comparison, when I rode SOB ("Unloved Son" as it was dubbed on the headstone on The Beast lol) the last year it was open, I came off feeling like someone had just beaten me with a pillowcase full of doorknobs. I've said this before, and I will say it again.... They have a kiddie area for people like RD Reynolds. --Beatle, having fond memories of the visible bruises inflicted by The Racer back in the 70's and by Holiday World's coasters in 2011......

This thread shows why nobody goes on Saturdays! It's too crowded! --Bavarian"yogiberra"Beatle

SoB sitting SBNO, Vortex down for weeks, and WindSeeker opening late while the park nickle and dimed it's guests with a kiddie dinosaur attraction, parking fee increases, admission price increases, and fastlane. Not to mention the opening day fiasco! By far the worst year in recent memory for guests, but a very good year for a company that was able to give its patrons less for more!

I'm sorry, but I see no humor in CF's closing of Geauga Lake!
-
If the parents have to pay as well, I hope they're smart enough to insist that they get their "t-rex sized bag of candy" as well!

A waterpark addition makes sense. Holiday World's geographical market overlaps a part of KI's and they need to compete. And it has been awhile since anything was added to BB.
-
Didn't WLWT say that Diamondback was going to be a dive machine as well? From what they showed on WLWT, I'm guessing a water coaster, and I'm sure I will be crucified on here if it isn't........
-
They showed survey markers and an excavator in an area on the Southwest end of BB, toward Western Row Road......... And, to respond toTerp, it's not a B&M! YAYYYYYYYY!!!!!! --Beatle, who likes Afterburn

Just watched Channel 5 News. It's a waterpark addition.

Very nice! That brings back a lot of memories from my many NASCAR trips! -
Kings Dominion 2012 – WindSeeker
BavarianBeatle replied to jcgoble3's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I don't have a problem with this. WindSeekers are something different than rides that the CF parks already have and offer guests a new and different experience. -
They could, in theory, be prosecuted for theft........

DA at Cedar Point in 2012
BavarianBeatle replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Use it to see the Dinos that Cedar Point will make money off of. Also, there seems to be plenty of "suckers" out at King Island who clearly were "suckered" enough into the attraction making enough money that they're expanding it to another park now. Clearly, it's a very little increase in overall revenue. They should've just built a Voyage clone. What? The only thing that makes any sense in your post is that you believe that CP or KI (your post is so poorly written that I can't tell which park you are referring to) should have, at some point in the past, built a Voyage clone. I honestly have no idea what in the heck you are talking about. -
Remember the teasers for the Dinosaurs.... "Turn back the clock on thrill".... Who knew that meant turning back the clock to things that thrilled you when you were three years old!
-
It's KI's 40th birthday! Look for a birthday party clown show that you can see for only $5.00. The clown will do a magic show, then make you a balloon sculpture for only $2.00 more! And the park will issue a press release stating that this "represents our commitment to providing our guests with world class thrills" :)

To answer your first question..... Yes Welcome to KIC
