  1. Yeah I know for a fact that all the PKI admissions booths had finger scanners - back in 2004! If they are using finger scanners, will they even need the cards anymore? You just go in and put your finger on the thing and are admitted. Personally I think biometrics - while safer - is not 100% safe - and it can be easily turned into an invasion of privacy. I'm not a big fan.
  2. The only Busch Gardens park I have been to is Tampa Bay - but it is so awesome. I have to go again sometime. The whole park has a great atmosphere, and the rides are unbelievable. The last time I went was shortly before the installation of Montu. If I was making a trip to Florida and had to choose between Di$ney and BGTB - I would definately go with BGTB.
  3. Did anyone see the 2006 PKD map? Flight of Fear has been totally removed from the map! It is gone! I suppose they did this so people wont get upset that it is not open. Still - makes one wonder... Keep in mind that with FOF - PKD had 4 launch coasters! Flight of Fear, Italian Job Turbo Coaster, Volcano: The Blast Coaster and HypersonicXLC.
  4. I would keep the park mostly as it is. I love it! I would squeeze in an Intamin Hyper Coaster in that stretch of land in Action Zone between the park and the parking lot. It is real narrow - but opens up at the end next to Top Gun. Then Vortex would get the ultimate TLC. Repainted, new trains, totally repainted and cleaned up station, landscaping under the ride etc. I would most definately add the Addams Family ride - adjacent to Flight of Fear - where the Helicopter thing used to be. Coney Mall would get a HUSS Jump2, and Rivertown would get a HUSS Giant Delirium - completing our collection of HUSS Giant rides... I would add a HUSS Breakdance also... Add those boats to White Water Canyon so the riders can spray back at the ornery guests on the observation platform - and that person in tower 3. Also somehow add another awesome woodie in the tradition of Beast - next to Beast and behind Tomb Raider. Ahh the list goes on... Mostly I would add somethings and clean up some things. If I took anything out - it would probably be Days of Thunder.
  5. If I am off - I will be marathoning Vortex. Of course there is a park rule that says you can only ride twice if nobody is in line for your seat. After that you have to get off and run around. At least that was the rule last year - it may be changed to no rerides this year. Either way - I will spend the day riding nothing but Vortex. Last year I did TRTR on a really dead day - and got 14 rides. And that is running around each time and going through the line and preshow 14 times! I even got smacked by a broom from a disgruntled TRTR Associate whos one day ride count record I was beating...
  6. I just noticed that Scooby's Castle was on International Street... I think its time for a new map design! The one we have is so cartoonish and inaccurate! I also like how on Holiday World's map - the ground colors indicate elevation change. That is very handy info for someone in a wheel chair. I like it when guests are reading the map upside down - because they think it makes more sense if the map is oriented in the direction they are moving...
  7. Well there are several reliable sources at the park. Dippin Dots Guy got promoted from a cart to the Dippin Dots Depot. Then there is Lemon Chill Guy. And of course the Tram Driver. I heard they were going to retheme the SOB Prairie to Mission:Impossible.
  8. What? I love some of the things you find on eBay. A grilled cheese sandwich with an image of the Virgin Mary on it. And then you can't forget the item listed as "I will kick your ass." Thats right, the winning bidder payed this guy to fly out to his house, break in and kick his ass. And people were bidding on it. Not only did you buy one but you didn't get your money back either? Man that really sucks. I bet you were pretty disappointed...
  9. Yeah you guys all have a point. They show hands up on that photo at PKI.com - and like I said earlier - at a PKI film shoot - we were told by a senior rides official that we could have hands up or down - it was our decision. So that means the no hands thing must be under part A and not part B of ORC 1711.551. I only put my hands up on wood coasters - and I don't even do it all the time. Like if I am feeling energetic - I do it. It takes ALOT of effort to keep your hands up in the bottom of the rosebowl on SOB... I usually keep them up on Beast - except for at that PKI film shoot. I only held them up for about 6 of the 11 rides I did...
  10. Ill probably be going up early before the construction tour on Saturday to get my 2006 Platinum Pass processed. The platinum passses have color photos! Thats weird that the Carowinds ones don't have photos. Are they requiring you to use the finger scanner now or what? I know if you get the twicket from PKI - you have to use the finger scanner.
  11. You might be a PKI addict if you go into iTunes, type in "Paramount Parks" in the search field - and 68 results are produced...
  12. I hope Blackstone buys it! Or someone who will make the parks kick ass! You people proficient in business are probably right - a company will buy it - increase value for as little investment as possible then sell it. But hopefully the company who buys it this time - or buys it next time from the company that buys it this time - will manage it well and produce some awesome parks.
  13. Yeah its definately the cheap way. I still think they should go the other route and just add an awesome addition every 3 years or so - instead of wasting money by adding SOMETHING every year...
  14. If you look at the PKD 2006 map - Flight of Fear has been totally removed from it.
  15. That orange thing between AE and DOT says - OKTOBERFEST. So did they get rid of the ride formely known as Quick Draws Railway? Or is that the Dora ride.
  16. I am glad they are open Easter! Now I gotta hope I am off or a Close... I will probably be an all day though...
  17. Well we all got pwnt. They are open 10-8. Looks like that one guy was right about the memo - and the people who called him out on it were wrong.
  18. So - no employee lot then? What if you are an employee?
  19. Yes - but if you put Top Guns trains on it instead of Face Off trains on it - it would have cars... So you can still keep your hand and feet within the car. And yeah - we all need to get out more...
  20. Hey ask Vortexdemon05 - its his saying. v v v v VEEEEEEE uuuuu NIT
  21. I think they already have. I also think that once banned - you should stay banned.
  22. Well he transferred a few years ago. He's been tamin da storm 3 years runnin!!!!1111
  23. Yeah I understand it is broken so often it won't be enforced. Like you won't even get pulled over for 70. I got passed by a cop and I was doing like 72. I just think it is interesting that it is against the law. Now POV most definately will be enforced...
  24. The park rules ask that you keep them down. Now I know that at Cedar Point - hands up is forbidden. So maybe hands down isnt explicitly stated. I know for a fact that it is on Beast however... And if they say you must keep your hands down - then putting them up is a misdemeanor. Just as bad a crime as on ride video... Now that being said - when we did the National Geographic Shoot - we asked if we had to ride with hands down or if we could put them up - and they said it didn't matter. So maybe it isn't an actual park rule that they have to be down and holding onto the handle bar. I just know that "hands arms and legs must be inside the vehicle at all times".
