  1. As for the next big thrill coaster, I hope KI gets a floorless coaster or a Mack multi-looper before a giga.
  2. If we're talking locally, then probably the original Bat, Shooting Star, Wildcat, Zodiac, and Flight Commander. I know it says coasters, but those 2 flats looked interesting to me. Beyond that, I wish I could have gotten to Texas Giant (before RMC Iron Horse-d it), Dueling Dragons, Big Bad Wolf, Twisted Sisters, and the Geauga Lake woodies.
  3. ^And there was much rejoicing.
  4. The instrumental music is back this season. Rivertown actually had appropriate music for that area playing as well (folk/country music).
  5. ^IIRC, they also removed some of the hammer games as well in that particular section of Coney Mall.
  6. Here are some mental notes about different things I took in for the preview night- - International Street looks fabulous at night - Racer is running a bit better, sounds like new anti-roll backs on the hills that have them - Coney BBQ is a welcome new addition, hopefully the AC runs a bit better in the summer - May have seen clearing back by the dinos, or at the very least a spot with some fresh-esque overturned dirt, cannot confirm with certainty since this was seen during a ride on Racer and it isn't the best vantage point to see back there, Eiffel Tower was closed most of the night - WindSeeker had some weird swaying of the seats when it tested about a few hours into the evening, looked like something that would happen if it didn't have the dampeners EDIT: There is also a big structure surrounding the band stand, which means better lighting and possibly altered acoustics for Off The Charts. I'm super excited for what the River City Band may have in store this season.
  7. Today has been pleasant outside....perhaps a bit too pleasant. Though, I'm hearing of chances of rain tonight. EDIT: It looks quite windy out as well.
  8. Sounds like more than what we put on ways for the Skyway promotion.
  9. - Get a night ride and a post-rain ride on Mystic Timbers (latest I've done on MT was during sunset with it still being light out) - Night ride on Backlot - Take more pictures at the park - Visit the park for Winterfest at least once - Eat at Coney BBQ at least once - Pray that Juke Box is not busy one day and eat there at least once - Have at least one funnel cake and one order of fries from Rivertown Potato Works - Check out shows other than OTC and whatever is in KI Theater and Festhaus - Ride the Coney flats and Grand Carousel more often (no marathon please) - Fireworks rides on Vortex, Diamondback, Banshee and WindSeeker - At least one night ride on Beast in 1-1 - Sunset ride on WindSeeker - Not suck at Boo Blasters when with other KICers - Get a zen ride on something - Night ride on Bat - Update KI wardrobe with at least 1 new shirt
  10. ^You're preaching to the choir with that. MIA is a park enthusiast 'collectively' are dissuaded from visiting, but I found it a fun little park.
  11. CP, HP, and SFGAdv are kinda by themselves because no other park really has a big Intamin collection to speak of.
  12. The Pops schedule at Riverbend every once in a while. I remember going down a few years ago to hear them be conducted by John Williams (yes, THAT John Williams). Its not something they do every year though.
  13. When you're hours away from being glad this thread will be obsolete for 6 months.
  14. If I'm feeling optimistic and get to the Allentown hotel at a good time, I may venture to downtown Philly for the evening.
  15. For me, in a standing position, I don't feel I have as much control over my upper body as much as I do sitting down. Mantis has some pretty quick transitions in the 2nd half and it did bang my head around a bit. You have to hold on to the restraints super tight. Also for the men- bicycle 'seats'. Just sayin'. I've always have heard that Georgia Scorcher is the best one.
  16. If the weather holds the way it is for Friday, it's gonna be a busy preview night.
  17. You still need permission from the parks to film the rides. A lot of parks have rules against cameras whether they're secured or not.
  18. ^Nope, just a 90 or 180 degree twist, but with the drop angle at 80-90 degrees. If you want to get that pedantic, then something like Expedition Ge-Force.
  19. I'd like to see a giga with a really steep curved drop, like you'd see on TTD. Maybe a 200+ ft non-inverting loop and some outside banked turns at the top of hills. Get a bit more creative with the elements.
  20. This thread is turning into a möbius loop. We're just going over the same talking points over and over again and its turning back into a B&M vs Intamin/RMC discussion.
  21. If you're going to post videos as a source, use them from creators who aren't in their teens and are speculating. This is the interview he mentioned in that video- the CoasterForce interview with RMC discussing the engineering aspects of the T-Rex.
  22. Also, there are only 5 giga coasters in existence built by 3 different manufactures, so you really can't call any of the design choices they have as trends per say.
  23. The band that plays Off The Charts! does tons of other types of gigs during the off season. They're used to the variety in crowd arrangements.
  24. Railblazer should be testing soon as well. Trains at the park now. From CGA's Facebook page.
  25. Friday's forecast has been changing pretty wildly. Might as well wait till the day of to see how that turns out. Though, the added rain chances and the snow we've gotten down here early in the week might help with the crowds.
